Audi Q5 owners have reported 6 problems related to engine oil leaking (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Audi Q5 based on all problems reported for the Q5. Excessive oil leaking from undercarriage. See all problems of the 2011 Audi Q5 . Oil leaks badly from rear main seal and timing cover. I have been treated so badly that I will never buy another Audi. The manager has terrible leadership of the dealership and my service experience was a absolute disaster. I have been a loyal customer since I purchased by Q5 (never missed a service appointment and always did it at the dealership). The engine has leaked oil the entire time. 3 years ago Audi replaced the pistons due to a design defect (they paid for it). 4 days before my regularly scheduled service appointment my engine died while driving it home from work through a residential neighborhood.

I had a half-mile warning something was wrong when the engine started sputtering. If I did not have my foot on the gas, the engine would stall. When I got it into my driveway and turned it off it would not restart. After 4-5 attempts, the engine would not turnover. So I had to tow my car to the dealership for assessment. 11,000. They said they have seen engines fail around 105,000. Mine has 107,000. I asked why they did not alert me to this risk as I would have brought the car in sooner. 8,500 to trade it in on a new one. 6,300 to do invest. Audi Q5. Consumer writes in regards to no remedy/time frame available to repair air bag replacement recall, fuel pump cracks and engine oil leakage issues. This is brand new Audi Q5 I purchased roughly a month earlier. While driving on the freeway, multiple cars began honking and waving at us. I pulled off the freeway and was notified that black some was appearing from the rear of the vehicle. I notified the manufacturer of the issue and they towed the car to the nearest dealership for service. The service crew did confirm an issue with the engine. A weep hole was found on side of transmissions that was leaking oil which caused black smoke to appear from the engine. The service team ended up replacing the entire transmission. See all problems of the 2014 Audi Q5 . The contact owns a 2011 Audi Q5. The contact stated that a large quantity of oil leaked and caused the timing chain to fracture. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the entire engine needed to be rebuilt. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.

The Q7 hides its enormous size more effectively than the old model - you could almost argue it looks well-proportioned thanks, in part, to its huge alloy wheels. The smallest options measure 20 inches in diameter. The X5′s clean interior layout is driver-focused, lending it a sportier feel than you might expect from a two-tonne SUV. Everything is impeccably well-screwed together, too. It doesn’t feel as bespoke as the Audi, however, with too many components borrowed from lower in the BMW range. The Q7’s wide, flowing dash looks clear, is free from confusing arrays of buttons, and every surface is trimmed in the finest quality materials. The Q7 also makes use of Audi’s Virtual Cockpit - a 12.3-inch LCD display in place of the traditional dials. It works brilliantly and is intuitive to use. Practicality is a strong point in both. The BMW’s second row of seats split in a useful 40/20/40 format and, with the third row folded away, 650 litres of boot space is available. The Q7 is better still. In five-seat mode, a vast 770-litre load bay is offered, expanding to a van-like 1,955 litres with the second row folded.

Even with all seven seats in place, the Q7 can muster up 295 litres of room - about the same as the average supermini. While the Q7 and X5 are both capable of light off-roading, they’re unashamedly designed for on-road use. Audi’s gone to great lengths to improve the driving experience of the latest Q7. Using lightweight materials, the latest car is as much as 325kg lighter than the model it replaces. This means the high-riding Audi suffers less body roll through corners than its predecessor. When equipped with the optional air suspension, the Q7’s ride is serene. The BMW X5 has always tried to put the ‘sport’ into sport utility vehicle, and this latest version lives up to that reputation. In all forms, it delivers a surprisingly agile drive with little evidence of the body roll you often get from this type of vehicle. Owners of old X5s will be pleased to discover the firm ride has been softened - the latest version is impressively comfortable on long journeys, and road and wind noise is muffled inside.
