VW VOLKSWAGEN EOS 2.0 TSI TURBO DSG COUPE CABRIOLET SPEC & TEST DRIVE

VW VOLKSWAGEN EOS 2.0 TSI TURBO DSG COUPE CABRIOLET SPEC & TEST DRIVE

One of the most powerful VW cars, the VW EOS 2.0 TSI tested and driven. We have a nice run on a proper track to test the acceleration 0-100 km/h and how good the breaking system of VW EOS. The TSI turbocharged engine with 207hp and 280Nm of torque which is similar to the one fitted in Golf GTI able to bring this 1586kg vehicle from 0-100km/h in just 7.8 seconds. But in our test, it can do faster around 7 seconds. Thanks to sports mode and paddle shifter 6 speed mode available with the DSG gearbox. What we love the most beside the performance, are all the safety features which enables you to take corners and drive in high speed in a very safe and comfortable condition. The interior is simple but really ergonomic and comfortable especially with the red leather sports seat available. We like the fuel pedal which is hinged at the bottom so you dont need to lift your foot high to press the acceleration pedal.

The brake pedal is so sensitive where you dont have to push it hard for initial brake, just a soft touch, it will activate. Basically, VW has a similar design of interior dashboard for all their car models. It is simple but comfortable. Looking at the whole interior from rear. The VW EOS 2011 is a 4 seater coupe cabriolet. 2 People seating at the back have enough comfort and legroom for a long journey. Looking from the rear part, it has a very nice CCFL LED tube light for it鈥檚 tail lamp. A simple speedometer with multi function display screen between the RPM meter and speed meter. It shows the clock, gear position, outside temperature and mileage. The speed meter reading have different scale through out the speed. 0-100 and another half have 100-280 km/h scale. Look at how fast this EOS can stop from around 110km/h to 0km/h with the help of it鈥檚 efficient Antilock Braking System ABS. If you press the brake very hard, it will reach a point that the pedal will move a bit forward to indicate skidding and it will automatically controled to prevent the skidding from happening further. It takes around 25 seconds to open and also around 25 seconds to close. There is a roof diffuser to direct airflow upwards to prevent your hair from high wind during high speed. At around 110km/h, you still feel comfortable driving with the roof open.

RNS 510 which is a 3rd generation head unit as this unit was in the production in 2007 whereas the RCD 210, RCD 310, RNS 310 and RCD 510 are recent additions. Check the 鈥楽koda Parts鈥?link (right hand menu) for a reasonably priced gateway. This problem does now affect the RNS 510 if the firmware is upgraded to 2660 or higher. The RNS 510 will exhibit the same problems as the RCD 210, RCD 310, RNS 310 and RCD 510 and requires the CAN bus gateway to be upgraded.
