QuickCharge Review: 2019 Volkswagen E-Golf Electric Car

2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack TSI SE Manual Wagon - POV Sunset Drive (Binaural Audio) - 동영상It’s been a while since our last Quick Charge, so we thought it was high time we reminded you what our double-whammy QuickCharge and ChargedUp video reviews are about. Today, we’re giving you our initial thoughts on the Volkswagen e-Golf, Volkswagen’s first mass-produced, all-electric compact car. We put the e-Golf through its paces. Following in the tire tracks of the the Volkswagen e-Up! 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf is Volkswagen’s second modern production vehicle. Developing a total of 119 pound-feet of torque, the 85 kilowatt electric motor can accelerate the Volkswagen e-Golf from 0-602 mph in just over 10 seconds, with an electronically-limited top speed of 87 mph. But what does Nikki think about the Volkswagen e-Golf ? Although she admits driving the Volkswagen e-Golf before, this is the first time she’s had any length of time with the e-Golf in the real world. Unlike many electric cars on the market, the Volkswagen e-Golf is surprisingly — and refreshingly — conventional on the inside.

In fact, after spending some time with it, both Nikki and Mark think it would be tough to differentiate it from a gasoline Golf until you start to drive away. With clear dashboard instrumentation and function-over fashion interior, the e-Golf feels very business-like. That said, it’s very well-built and solid, and despite heavy use of plastic, doesn’t feel cheaply built. One of the most useful features of the e-Golf is its multi-mode gear selector, which allows you to select the amount of regenerative braking applied on accelerator liftoff. This is controlled by tapping the gear selector from side to side. Volkswagen e-Golf uses the combined charging system (CCS): a Type 2 (Mennekes) connector in Europe and J-1772 connector in the U.S. When connected to a compatible CCS charging system, this can charge the e-Golf’s battery pack from empty to 80 percent full in around 30 minutes. In Europe, the Volkswagen e-Golf’s on-board charger is rated at 3.3 kilowatts, meaning a regular AC charge from a domestic or public Type 2 charging station takes between 6 and 8 hours from empty to full. In the U.S. however, the e-Golf comes with a more powerful 7.7 kilowatt on-board charger, meaning recharging from empty to full from a Level 2 charging station can take as little as 4 hours. Like Nikki, who has owned and driven several Volkswagens over the years, Mark has owned VWs. Let’s see what he thinks. The Volkswagen e-Golf is on sale across Europe and in key markets in the U.S. Do you agree with Nikki and Mark’s initial impressions of the e-Golf? Have you driven one? Are you tempted to try one out? Leave your thoughts in the Comments below, and don’t forget to come back next Thursday, when we’ll be sharing our full, considered opinions of the Volkswagen e-Golf in our ChargedUp review. Reviewers liked the handling of the Jetta SportWagen and many of them called it sporty and fun to drive. The Jetta SportWagen does not offer all-wheel drive like some others in its class did. The 2009 Jetta SportWagen has a comfortable and functional interior, according to most reviewers. They also said that the back seat could fit two adults or three children comfortably. Even though the Jetta SportWagen is considered a compact wagon by most reviewers, there’s a generous 32.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back seat. Standard features and amenities include heated power mirrors, cruise control, keyless remote entry, a stereo system with eight speakers and an auxiliary audio jack. Features on higher trims or features that were optional when it was new include a six-disc CD player, satellite radio, leather upholstery, 12-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support and automatic climate control. The 2009 Subaru Outback has standard all-wheel drive. Reviewers liked the available turbocharged engine’s passing power. The 2009 Volkswagen Passat Wagon is a great option for those who like the Jetta SportWagen and want more space. The Passat Wagon has 35.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row.

For the forseeable future BYD battery production is larger than that of Tesla, even after the first stage of the gigafactory opens, assuming both keep to schedule. The GF first stage is to be around 7Gwh, with all batteries currently used by Tesla sourced from Japan. BYD had 4Gwh of capacity as of this spring, and were to build another 6Gwh of capacity this year and in every subsequent year. Given demand for Energy Storage, Tesla has revised capacity for GF1. Either company could of course revise capacity up or down, but AFAIK no concrete moves have been made outside of Nevada. The above refers to production by the companies themselves, which often show something like automotive batteries only, not even counting those in buses, and so give a low take on BYD production. Those estimates of course refer to batteries Tesla purchases from Panasonic. Because of some unfortunate comments regarding this post, i was forced to take action and from now on future comments will have to be approved. I have recently started a blog, the info you provide on this site has helped me greatly. Thanks for all of your time & work.
