Get your alternator checked out. New ones aren't that expensive (approx. WELL YOU MAY HAVE EITHER A BAD ALTERNATOR/CONECTION OR YOU ARE DISCONECTING THE NEGATIVE SIDE OF THE BATTERY FIRST. TRY DISCONECTING THE POSITIVE SIDE FIRST IT SHOULD THEN STAY ON.
