The MK6 Jetta platform launched in 2011 in the United States and is still in production today. Engine offerings early in the platform lifecycle carried over the naturally aspirated 2.5L 5-cylinder, the 2.0 TDI, and the 2.0T (offered in the Jetta GLI). There was also a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter 8-valve four-cylinder engine offered in base models for some time. In 2014/2015 Volkswagen began to phase out the 2.5L motor in favor of a re-designed 1.8L TSI motor that returned comparable horsepower with much better fuel economy and torque. The platform continued to be available in a sedan version as well as a Sportwagen variant. Transmission options ranged from a 6-speed manual to a Tiptronic automatic to DSG on some models. From an aftermarket performance part standpoint, the 2.0T motor in the Jetta GLI and the newly re-designed 1.8T TSI both respond very well to performance parts such as cold air intakes, downpipes, catback exhausts, turbo upgrades, coilovers, and more. Common items that are not guaranteed include but not limited too nuts, bolts, links, seals, bushings, ball joints, brackets, bezels, wiring, cables, sensors and other applicable items depending on the part. If they are not serviceable, such as a pressed-in ball joint, they will be guaranteed. We cannot guarantee color on any part we sell. Claims on engine warranties are limited to manufacturer defects in the pistons, heads, block, crankshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. Though additional parts and accessories may be attached upon purchase, coverage does not extend to sensors, switches, cables, electronics, belts, hoses, water pumps, or manifolds, nor damage caused through overheating or improper lubrication.
