The Test Drive Had Predetermined Route

After a few delays and phone calls to schedule a meeting, i finally got to test drive the electric Fortwo in downtown Lisbon. A friendly salesperson asked me if i had any experience with electric cars (Negative answer), making made a brief introduction to the car and technology, saying that it was the fuel source of the future. Smart believes that electric cars are still for a few single-minded people that buy more with their heart than with their wallet. After this first presentation, i'm introduced to another staff member that would be with me during the test drive. Before getting into the car, i'm asked to lend my ID car for them to register my data on their Db (Glad for them i'm not paranoid about this kind of stuff). The test drive had predetermined route, that pretty much covered all kinds of roads and situations, with the added bonus of visiting one or two more scenic places in Lisbon. After stopping in Monsanto Green Park, the staff member (An electronics engineer), explained me how to plug and unplug the car to a fast charger, encouraging me to unplug it. During the test drive i made a few questions on the technology behind the i3 (Materials, charging rates, batteries, software, etc), to which he replied willingly and accurately. Back to the dealership, i'm introduced to a third member of the staff, "which would assist me through the configuration of the car" (It takes a specialist to do this?!?!?). During the extensive configuration of the car, at times it felt more like we were doing Interior Decorating of a house than a car, so many were the options. The best plug-in car i've tried and probably the best staff in selling electric cars. But be careful with the options list as you might end up with stratospheric numbers in an already overpriced car.

How Much Will It Cost? 35,000 before federal and state tax credits (more on that later). As we've found with Teslas, though, the price accelerates quickly when you need more functionality or power. If I Order One Today, When Would It Arrive? For the typical car buyer, we advise holding off being the first on your block to own an all-new car. There are almost always quality glitches with new models on the assembly line, and the Tesla Model S has been no exception. But if you ordered now, you would receive yours well into the second year of production. Any initial teething problems should be identified and solved by then. That said, it still takes commitment to reserve a product you don’t know all the details about, including when it will roll into your driveway.

Will the Model 3 Use Front-, Rear-, or All-Wheel-Drive? Like the Model S, the Model 3 will offer both rear- and all-wheel drive using either a single- or dual-motor setup. Does the 0-60 MPH Time of Just Under Six Seconds Apply to the Dual-Motor Cars? The 0-60 mph times for the base-model, single-motor car are said to be less than six seconds. But the dual-motor cars should be significantly quicker. We rode shotgun in a dual-motor Model 3 at the launch event, and our 0-60 estimate was under five seconds. Whether it will have a Ludicrous Mode or go to "Maximum Plaid" remains to be seen. Is the Front-End Styling Finalized? Many who have seen the Model 3 have criticized the grille-free, duck-billed monochromatic front end (which no doubt contributes to the car's aerodynamics). Will the Model 3 Be a Hatchback? Despite its similarity in shape to the Model S, the Model 3 will be a sedan with a traditional trunk opening.

With a course rating of 77 and a slope of 147, you know you're in for a challenge the moment you tee it up! Mishit shots will be penalized here even with the generous width overall. A solid test of golf, especially when the wind is up, which is often out here right on the ocean. I'm a bit conflicted when it comes to discussing design variety because I see Jack really wanted to spice things up with chipping areas, centerline bunkering, fairway width and more. However, I'm a bit put off by all of the cape holes, although I think the 16th is especially well done. This is one of the only true oceanfront golf courses to be built in Florida in the past number of years. However, it never comes into play and I wonder if Jack could have better utilized that precious piece of property a bit better.

Still, a memorable ride throughout with only one or two weak holes. Bobby Ginn spared no expense when putting together this resort and the little finishing touches can be seen everywhere around the course. The course was in tremendous shape considering that they had a professional event just weeks earlier. The greens rolled very well and were a bit quicker here then at the Conservatory course. The browned out conditions made things very firm and fast, the way I'm sure Nicklaus wants the course to be played. It's a pleasant place to play golf that is marred somewhat by the encroaching housing community. I've seen plenty worse, however, although if the economy was in better shape in '08, I'm sure there would have been plenty more houses along the fairways. In summary, this golf course is much different from most Nicklaus courses I've played in that there are many different ways to play the hole from the tees, the fairways and near the greens. You can play it low, play it high, play a fade or a draw, bump in shots or flop them in. It doesn't hurt that the course is gorgeous to look at and plays very firm and fast. Very pleasantly surprised by the course and the teeth it has in the wind. It's just plain fun to play! A definite bonus is the wonderful accommodations and the fact you can play on an unlimited golf package. There truly is some bang for your buck here at the Ginn Hammock Beach Resort. Add this to the fact the great European Village Resort is closeby on Palm Coast Boulevard, with a number of great places to eat in there. This place is very cool, built in the piazza style that is very reminiscent of Old Europe. 2.00 bottles of Stella!
