From what I've found, most newer Volkswagen's are governed at 130mph, but it takes a long time to get there. 110 yet both had the exact same output in power, in either case if it bothers you that much,the computer can be "flashed" to remove the limiter. Because they don't want idiots like you running into a schoolbus of children at 130 miles per hour. Do you really want to go 130mph?..lol i think 120 is pretty good.
