It’s been over a year since Aston Martin announced it was joining forces with Zagato to create a limited-edition Shooting Brake version of the Vanquish. It’s been shown extensively in photos, but the model still hasn’t launched. However, it looks like the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake is gearing up for launch because Aston Martin has released some new photos that have us watering at the mouth. This is quite simply the best-looking wagon we’ve ever seen - it's breathtakingly beautiful from every angle.
"Working with the legendary Italian styling house Zagato Milano to combine traditional craftsmanship with high technology and absolute exclusivity, the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato delivers a unique combination of performance, rarity & fastidious attention to detail," Aston Martin wrote on Instagram.
While last year’s photo shoot showed the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake finished in bright red, these latest photos show the car painted white with a contrasting black roof. The two-tone paint, sharp lines, and sloping roofline give the car a very sporty look, but it’s the roof that stands out the most with its distinctive V shape that splits the roof down the middle with a glass panel that’s very pleasing to the eye.
We also get a first look inside the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake. The sumptuous interior is adorned with brown leather covering just about every surface, while the large luggage compartment features leather and carbon fiber accents.
Like the Vanquish Zagato and Vanquish Volante Zagato, only 99 units of the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake will be built, and they've all been sold. The Speedster will be even rarer, with only 28 examples planned for production. Since it’s based on the Vanquish S, the sexy shooting brake is powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.9-liter V12 that produces 592 hp.
Aston Martin still hasn’t said when the Shooting Brake will make its debut or when we can expect production and customer deliveries to start, sadly, but these new photos suggest its launch could be imminent.
