- Transmission limp-home indication in instrument cluster control unit

Setpoint Definitions

P1838

Setpoint definitions

NOTE: The specified values and value ranges correspond to the OK state in each case.

Line test setpoints

Short circuit to B+:

- Setpoint voltage -0.5 V --> +0.5 V

Short circuit to ground:

- Setpoint resistance > 0.9 MOhm

Open circuit:

- Setpoint resistance < 2 Ohm

Control unit setpoints

- Supply voltage terminal 30 9.1 V --> 16.4 V

- Voltage, terminal 15 9.5 V --> 16.0 V

Diagnosis Information - PDK (Dual-Clutch Transmission)

P1838

Diagnostic information - PDK

Power supply for pressure regulator 1 (clutch 1), short circuit to B+

Diagnostic conditions

The control unit initially tests internal function sequences when the ignition is switched on (terminal 15). If they are OK, all diagnosable outputs are

then tested and any faults are stored.

- Ignition on

- The following fault is not detected: P1752

Possible fault causes

- Line between pressure regulator 1 and PDK control unit faulty

- Pressure regulator 1 faulty

- PDK control unit faulty

Fault setting conditions

- Actual measured voltage HS1 > 4 V

Fault effects

- Power supply switch-off, pressure regulator clutch 1

- Pressure regulator clutch 1, switch-off

- No gear preselection

- No R gear

- Only gears 2, 4 and 6 are possible

- White transmission limp-home indication in instrument cluster

Power Supply For Pressure Regulators 2 (Clutch 2) And 3 (Lubrication Pressure/Cooling

Pressure), Open Circuit

P1839

Diagnosis information - PDK

Power supply for pressure regulators 2 (clutch 2) and 3 (lubrication pressure/cooling pressure), open circuit

Diagnostic conditions

The control unit initially tests internal function sequences when the ignition is switched on (terminal 15). If they are OK, all diagnosable outputs are
