Fault effects

- Transmission limp-home indication in instrument cluster control unit

Starter Interlock Signal, Open Circuit

P081B

Diagnosis information - PDK

Starter interlock signal, open circuit

Diagnostic conditions

The control unit initially tests internal function sequences when the ignition is switched on (terminal 15). If they are OK, all diagnosable outputs are

then tested and any faults are stored.

- Ignition on

- Starter interlock not active

Possible fault causes

- Line between DME control unit and PDK control unit faulty

- PDK control unit defective

Fault setting conditions

- Starter interlock signal, voltage > 0.35 V --> < 2.2 V

Fault effects

- Transmission limp-home indication in instrument cluster control unit

Setpoint Definitions

P081B

Setpoint definitions

NOTE: The specified values and value ranges correspond to the OK state in each case.

Line test setpoints

Short circuit to B+:

- Setpoint voltage -0.5 V --> +0.5 V

Short circuit to ground:

- Setpoint resistance > 0.9 MOhm

Open circuit:

- Setpoint resistance < 2 Ohm
