A good AWD review: Audi Quattro vs. Great article. Cleared a lot of confusion up but as /u/metarugia pointed out, I have more questions now than I did before I read this. Well now I'm even more confused on these terms than ever before. Ultimately it seems that depending on which model of Audi you get, you're getting a better or worse AWD experience (aka the A3/S3 vs the rest of the range). A3 is better or worse? The S3 and Golf R have the same engine, do they share the same AWD too? The A3's AWD is apparently not to be considered a true AWD according to the article. S3 and golf R share a Haldex system. I assume the A3/S3/Golf R has the same crappy haldex setup. All Haldex systems are not created equally. Some really aren't bad (I haven't driven or tested the one in the A3/S3/Golf R to know specifically but from the tests I've read it seems decent).
