We haven’t seen the new Touareg yet but Volkswagen will present a concept at the upcoming 2016 Beijing Auto Show that previous the vehicle. Almost like Mitsubishi, Volkswagen has been making too many SUV concepts and not enough production cars. It's been out for a while, but does the Volkswagen Touareg still have the goods? We get behind the wheel of the Touareg V6 TDI to have a look.

Its larger front grille and angled headlamps give it a significantly clearer look than the round styling, while a pair of large air outlets replaced the old car with three-piece setup as well. The new 2019 Volkswagen Touareg features a similar design to the latest Faux models such as the Artion. It has a silver grille lined up by the LED headlamps and boasts an angular bumper design. The silver trim continues down the side of the car and ends in the back door. The production model will boast a slim, angular brake lights although this is a subtle camouflage utility here. This mule test features some sports touches such as a spoiler on the hatch slot and angular exhaust tips. Inside 2019 Volkswagen Touareg, the leading SUV company will have the same technology found in the Tiguan and more. The 12.3-inch display behind the steering wheel replaces conventional discs while the vertical display will sit on the top of the dashboard in the driver’s eye line.

The large information and entertainment system will be the hub of the cabin and will handle all remaining cabin functions. It will also feature the latest semi-independent driving techniques for the company including adaptive speed control and a wide range of safety technology. Diesel engines and gasoline are the default supply in Vauxhall. The US 2019 Volkswagen Touareg will be an open market for a new 3.0-liter V-6 engine with a 300 horsepower, while a 3.0-liter V-6 should expect a European torpedo with at least 220 hp. Next to these options, there will be a mixed option. We have no idea which engine they will choose, but expect higher output (somewhere around 400 hp). The new engine will have 2.0-liter four-cylinder, but only for Europe and Asia. Fuel consumption will be better than on the last model. Because we do not have any official data, EPA prices last year were 17 mpg city / 23 mpg highway / 19 mpg combined. Since there are spaceships that will spend less fuel, VW was doing something. That is why they now have different platform, lighter materials, better engines. All previous versions of the 2019 Volkswagen Touareg were very small in cargo space, very thirsty for fuel and two steps behind with the quality of information and entertainment system. Even the top of the 2019 Volkswagen Touareg line was the standard trim executive information and terrible entertainment. 50,000 for a car, you expect perfection. That is what we are looking for to see this time. That is why we are very pleased because we saw a different display on the console and that news about the changing platform.

Imagine, if you will, a spacious SUV/crossover that provides the cornering of the Fiat 500, but with a smooth, luxurious ride and quiet, effortless acceleration. That is today’s Volkswagen Touareg, a car whose basics are shared by some Audis, the Volkswagen Phaeton, and the Porsche Cayenne. While there are many family differences, the Volkswagen clearly benefits from being in the same stable as the Audi and Porsche. The downsides are the cost and the controls. The Touareg, like Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango, has an eight-speed automatic transmission, and three engine choices. Volkswagen’s 3.6 liter V6 is a pretty close match for Jeep’s, as is their V6 diesel. Volkswagen’s most powerful setup is no longer a V8 or V10, but a 380-horse hybrid-electric setup that fits between than the Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 and 6.4 Hemis. The electric motor (good for 47 horsepower and a whole lot of torque) is good for high breakaway torque, while the setup gets better fuel economy around town than any gasoline engine Jeep or Dodge have, by a good margin.
