Different Car Manufacturers In Different Countries

All over the world vehicles are being produced daily. The ten most prevalent manufacturers today are located around the world. Fiat which is based in Italy is number 10 on this list. Fiat was originally founded in 1899 and is currently Italy's largest vehicle maker. Although fiat is based in Italy, they do have production facilities in other countries as well, Brazil being the largest one of note. Average production of the Fiat range averages approximately two and a half million vehicles a year. Suzuki which is based in Japan is number 9 on this list. Suzuki currently has over thirty five production facilities located in 23 different countries. Suzuki not only produces cars but also produces motorcycles to increase revenue. Average turnover of cars by the company is estimated at 2.6 million units per year. Hyundai-Kia based in South Korea comes in as number 8 on this list. While the manufacturer also had production facilities in India, the South Korean based plant is the second largest car manufacturer in the country boasting an annual average production of 3.3 million units. PSA Peugeot from France is the 7th entry on our list.

Peugeot is the second largest auto maker currently in Europe. With a production average of just over 3.3 million units the company is firmly seated in the top ten manufacturers. Nissan based in Japan comes in at number six on the list and is one of the top three Asian car manufacturers. The company was originally founded in 1932 and has been voted among the best vehicles for fourteen straight years. Honda from Japan is the fifth entry on our list. Along with being the fifth largest motor vehicle manufacturer it is also the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer. Production averages for cars comes in at 3.9 million vehicles per year. Ford from the United States comes in at number 4 on the list. The company was first formed in 1903. Normal passenger vehicle production is bolstered by the production of vans and non passenger vehicles making the overall production numbers a bit harder to calculate. Number 3 on the list is German carmaker Volkswagen. Included in their line are Volkswagen, Audi, seat, Skoda and Lamborghini. The overall production average for the entire group is approximately six and a half million units. General Motors based in the United States comes in as number 2 on the list. Sporting the title of the United States largest auto maker, their line consists of Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, and Hummer. The number one company on the list is Japanese car maker Toyota. Producing nearly 10 million units a year makes this company the largest car manufacturer in the world today.

Want to see the new tech that's coming to Volkswagen models in the very near future? Look no further than this e-Golf Touch concept. Most significantly, the Golf will get gesture controls, but that's only one part of a big tech upgrade for VWs most popular car. Front and center, the latest MIB infotainment system is housed in a 9.2-inch, high-resolution (1280x640-pixel) display. The home screen is reconfigurable, with driver-selectable functions for music, phone, etc. There's also compatibility for Volkswagen's MirrorLink phone pairing setup, as well as Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Details are slim about exactly what gesture controls will be available, but look to the Golf R Touch concept from last year for direction. Finally, there's a new keyword activation feature built into some improved voice commands - you can now just say "Hello, Volkswagen" for the system to start up. It's like saying, "Okay, Google" on your Android phone.

Next, Volkswagen is showcasing wireless charging. That's nothing new, and VW's setup incorporates this tech into the mobile phone tray below the infotainment system. What is innovative, however, is wireless charging for backseat passengers in the rear armrests. Want to charge the old-fashioned way? VW is installing USB Type C ports, which not only allow for high-speed data transfer, but seriously cut down on charging time. The other big, cool feature is what VW calls "Personalization 2.0." In essence, it allows drivers to store personal settings in the cloud, and they can be accessed simply by logging into the account via the Volkswagen Car-Net system. What this means is, you get out of your Golf and into your buddy's GTI, and you can load up all your settings, using VW's version of, say, an Apple ID. We're not sure how revolutionary this is for people who drive the same car every day, but for us journalist types who bounce between hundreds of new cars every year, it seems like a cool feature. Maybe this one's just for us?

Elsewhere, there's electronic voice amplification to make it easier for backseat folks to hear the people up front (is it hard to hear in a car as small as the Golf?). Volkswagen is also updating its media control system that allows almost all of the infotainment features to be handled via a tablet device (good for passengers). Read all about it in the release below, and stay tuned for more live impressions direct from CES. Las Vegas, January 2016 — Volkswagen returns to CES 2016 with two ground-breaking, zero-emissions vehicles: the BUDD-e concept and the e-Golf Touch. BUDD-e is a concept vehicle that will take CES attendees on a quick time-hop to the year 2019. In contrast, the e-Golf Touch, with its next-generation infotainment system, shows that technologies showcased at CES 2015 are close to production. Additionally, Volkswagen will introduce numerous electronic innovations at CES 2016, to debut in the very near future.
