Volkswagen Apprentices Collaborate With Aussie Auto Industry To Build 360kW Art Car

Chullora, Sydney: Volkswagen Australia has today unveiled the fruits of its industry-wide collaboration project, dubbed the ART3on: a track-ready customised Arteon Art Car, built by a team of Volkswagen apprentices and mentors from the Australian automotive aftermarket industry. Last year's team turned a 2.2-tonne Amarok ute into a race-going track car; which became a viral superstar on social media, and has since gone on to set impressive lap times around Australia's premier motorsport tracks. This year's challenge saw Volkswagen offer up another less-obvious vehicle to customise: the Arteon luxury saloon. The apprentices had one week to turn the newest luxury Volkswagen from a refined GT car, into a fire-breathing race car worthy of a debut at the annual World Time Attack Challenge event at Sydney Motorsport Park. Overseeing the build, and the apprentices, was a team of mentors from Volkswagen Australia's own technical division, as well as innovators from the Australian automotive community. Luka Popovac, national customer experience and capability manager, was delighted with the program and what it affords Volkswagen's young apprentices. The result is a unique take on the iconic Art Car: a 360kW race-ready track car, complete with a one-of-a-kind artwork, created specifically for the car by renowned Sydney street artist Simon Murray, AKA KADE, adorning the car's sleek exterior. At its official unveiling at World Time Attack Challenge this weekend, the car will be driven by in-demand race driver, Renato Loberto, around Sydney Motorsport Park. Following a baseline performance test on a MAHA dynometer, the ART3on makes 360kW of power and 600Nm of torque. On an uphill straight at Luddenham, this power was put to the test where the ART3on consistently clocked an impressive 0-100km/h time of 3.9 seconds. Utilising Volkswagen's MQB architecture, the Arteon's standard 7-speed DSG and 4MOTION system, putting power to the ground via launch control function, ensure that this acceleration time is achieved day in, day out.

I have been thinking about changing my used Ford Fiesta in Sussex for a brand new car but I can't find anything that strikes out. The Volkswagen Tiguan looks sharper and sleeker than the current model with a new front end defined by horizontal lines, new technologies, it is the sharpest and most efficient yet, and it features improved fuel consumption and reduced emissions. The Volkswagen Tiguan has become one of the most popular Volkswagens in the world, it's been selling in high volumes across Europe, Russia, the USA, China, Brazil and Australia. A total of 572,000 Volkswagen Tiguans have been delivered globally, since it was first launched in autumn 2007. The Volkswagen Touareg's smaller brother is now poised to continue this success story with a new look and advanced technologies. The new Volkswagen Tiguan is available with a comprehensive range of refined TSI petrol and TDI diesel engines and four-wheel drive will be available with all engine derivatives. There is also an of optional two-wheel drive transmission with select engines.

As the month of June comes to an end, you still don't have a hauler for the kids to school. The last candidate on this page can be realistically yours. With the power of depreciation, what used to be a plaything of the wealthy can be a gem for the middle class, for less. Without further ado, Myk Belmonte investigates this luxury SUV that is more luxurious than your neighbor's Montero Sport. During the 90s, nearly every vehicle manufacturer in the world has a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) on their lineup. Cadillac made a "rushed" entry with the Escalade in 1999, while Porsche took it slow to develop the Cayenne for its 2002 introduction. BMW's X5 was made available to the general public in 1999 and it was the manufacturer's first SUV on their line-up. It was an astonishing success for BMW, which prompted to add the X3 in 2004, the X6 in 2008, and the X1 in 2009; resulting to the X line family.

The father of the "X Family", the X5 was marketed by BMW as a Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) rather than an SUV. It was promoted as that to emphasize its on-road skills despite the bulk. Bimmer fans in the Philippines waited until 2001 to have the E53 X5 in our roads. Initially offered by PGA Cars (who also distributed Land Rover previously, and currently Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini) in its earlier years, with BMW Philippines taking over distributorship rights which resulted to adding various variants. Similar to the world market, sales discontinued in 2007, with its successor platform being introduced in the same year. After almost 8 to 10 years of age, an E53 X5 would have resale prices between P1,400,000-P2,400,000, roughly the price of a brand new mid-size SUV. The price range covers up different model years, state of condition (mind you, there exist careless type owners of luxury vehicles), and various engine configurations (gasoline V6 and V8, and diesel engines are the choices). It would be wise to get a pre-owned example to be safe.
