TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Map data disc did not load completely into hard drive. This procedure will reinitialize
the auto run feature to allow the map data disc to completely download.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Software SW 980 introduced November 2009 beginning with VIN breaks:
Tip: Touareg uses a "2" as the last digit of the software level.

? Connect Midtronics InCharge (INC 940) tester / charger to vehicle's battery.
? Switch ignition ON, with engine OFF.
? Press the map button on the radio.
Tip: Disregard this screen if displayed.
? Insert service disc RNS510SD2019935.
NOTE: The customers map disc will need to be used for this procedure. If customer
has lost disc, it will be necessary for the customer to purchase another one.

Replacement map discs will not be covered under warranty.

necessary to remove and reinsert disc for download to start.

? Press Eject button on the radio.
? Allow the disc to load for a minimum of 5 minutes.
Tip: It is not important that the status bar has reached 100 percent, only that
the status bar moved after the 5 minute period.
? Touch Eject on the screen to continue.
? Remove service disc and store with other programming discs at the dealership.

Tip: If the navigation screen goes blank, press the power button on the radio to
resume download.

Tip: Navigation unit operates faster when the DVD is not in the unit.
