About.com鈥檚 list emphasizes space and comfort, while KBB鈥檚 list seems to emphasize 鈥榞oing out in style鈥? KKB took it a step further and suggested a summer event (festival, etc.) to go to with each car. Most of the cars found on these lists are not currently found on the lot at Earthy Cars. But, that doesn鈥檛 mean that we don鈥檛 have cars that are not ideal for road trips. We have cars that have plenty of room for a pack of friends or family with a loaded itinerary while driving from one part of North America to another. We also have cars that make you 鈥榣ook good鈥?while going out on the road all day. Even if your ideal road trip car isn鈥檛 currently on the lot, Earthy Cars may be able to get it for you personally. Mind you, we take requests - we can purchase a specific car model just for you if we can find it at auction! Take a look through Kelley Blue Book and about.com鈥檚 lists, or do your own research. Scion xB: Scion xB鈥檚 boxed-shaped design maximizes comfort and space.





There is plenty of leg room, and it has a huge compartment in the back need you bring a lot of stuff with you. Even with its size, the Scion xB gets an over 30 MPG rating - 35 MPG on the highway, and 31 MPG in the city. 2007-2008 Toyota Prius (2nd generation): We currently have three second generation Prius鈥檚 on the lot. The Prius is the most fuel efficient vehicle on the road (51 MPG city rating), yet it is also a very spacious car, with 36 in. 53-55 in. shoulder room for each passenger and 51-52 in. 2003 Saab 9-3: This is currently the only convertible that is on our lot. It is ideal for a couple of friends looking to hit the city for some fun! 2007 VW Jetta 2.5 (5th generation): The Jetta is the biggest sedan that VW currently produces. Its interior space in similar to that of the Prius, yet it has a cooler leather interior. As an added bonus, the stereo system has MP3 capacity, so you won鈥檛 be bored during a road trip! Subaru Tribeca: If you need lots of room (for humans), because you鈥檙e a mom and dad carrying 3 kids, plus their grandfather, then look no further than the Subaru Tribeca. 2000 Jeep Wrangler: Okay, perhaps this vehicle is more perfect for an OFF-road trip. This vehicle is suitable if you are planning to take a trip among more rural settings, rather than from city to city. With a 4.0 liter in-line 6-cylinder engine, the Wrangler can withstand steep terrain and rocky roadways. It is ideal for those going on a weekend camping trip away from home.





19,000. Then you have what I call the 鈥渕id-level trim鈥? the SE. Tom Smith: All right. Clinton Quan: Then you have a special sport trim that鈥檚 called the 鈥淩-line鈥? 23,000. Then you鈥檝e got the 鈥?You could call it the top-line, the SEL. Tom Smith: And that鈥檚 what you drove. So you drove all the bells and whistles. Clinton Quan: Yes. It鈥檚 got the virtual dash, so it鈥檚 very Audi-esque like. Clinton Quan: So I think that鈥檚 available in both the SE and 鈥?The SEL and the SEL Premium, which is the one I drove. Tom Smith: And so, just a quick plug also for some of 鈥?So, Clinton and I review a lot of vehicles, and Clinton鈥檚 an enthusiast. We did some reviews with various customers that were coming in just to drive for the Launch Party. They came in to check out the new Jetta, and so I think there鈥檚 about five different podcasts that we did. They鈥檙e little short ones, about five, six minutes each. They鈥檙e with these everyday drivers that we did these podcasts with, they鈥檙e enthusiasts in their own right, but Clinton and I do this all the time. So, he鈥檚 a little bit of a professional. If you want to check out the other Jetta reviews, there鈥檚 lots of great things that everybody is saying about the 2019 Jetta. So, back to the professor鈥檚 test drive of the SEL Premium. How did it go? Clinton Quan: Well, it鈥檚 got a different engine now. It鈥檚 a 1.4 Liter in-line turbo that produces 147 horsepower, 184 pound feet of torque; so it鈥檚 got quite a bit of torque.
