A 70-year-old woman is fighting for her life after smashing her car into a tree and a power pole in Western Australia. The woman was driving on a main road south of Perth just before midnight on Wednesday when she swerved on to the wrong side of the road and crashed in front of a house. A shocking picture of the scene shows a red Volkswagen Jetta resting on its side alongside a power pole which has snapped in half. The car's windscreen has shattered and folded forward, it is missing its front bumper and left headlight. The wooden power pole has snapped over the car, and a power line is seen draped over the vehicle. Share Firefighters were called to the scene to extract the woman from the car, and she was raced to the Royal Perth Hospital with suspected head injuries. A spokeswoman for the hospital told Daily Mail Australia she arrived in and remains in a critical condition.
