The vehicle features a longer wheelbase at 105.7 inches, compared to last year鈥檚 model which offered a 104.4 inch wheelbase. The cabin is taller and wider than the 2017 Jetta, which adds to the vehicle鈥檚 comfort due to the expanded passenger space. Other updates to the 2019 Jetta includes a larger front grille, sharper and more defined lines and even sleeker overall appearance that encompasses the visuals of a coupe-like vehicle.

The Jetta cabin also includes some notable updates as well. This includes the use of soft-touch materials throughout the interior that include a new design element to give the vehicle a more stylish and luxurious appeal. The seats are offered in a variety of new colors and design patterns. Heated and ventilated seats are available as optional upgrades, and this also includes the power driver鈥檚 seat with memory for added comfort and convenience. The 2019 Jetta offers more smartphone integration features with the inclusion of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink® to help you stay connected while out on the road. This model will also offer the option of including Volkswagen Car-Net® for easy and convenient smartphone connectivity. Drivers also have the option of including the new 400-watt BeatsAudio® sound system for crystal clear and high definition listening. The 1.4-liter TSI turbocharged 4-cylinder engine carries over from the 2017 model. This engine provides the ability to deliver 147 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes standard mated to a 6-speed manual transmission which adds an additional gear ratio from last year鈥檚 5-speed transmission. Which is a shame and would be much more cost and labor effective for you to either keep your engine or sell your car and buy a r32. My opinion is that if you just chip your engine replace the exhaust and buy a bigger turbo kit with some nice new intake components it would be much more reasonable then replacing the engine. 15,000. but i know you probably think these cars are cute, but they're complete pieces of crap underneath and will cause you nothing but grief. New Beetle's design is seriously flawed from a mechanic's perspective, and labor costs for repairs cost a decent bit more cash because of this. 3 times as long to do something like this and you'll end up breaking the bank for repairs. Civic or something else. EDIT: there's plenty of small cars to choose from for only a couple grand. Honda Civic or Subaru Impreza. 3 grand and they have extremely long lifespans. 97 Civic EX and it has almost 300,000 miles on it right now, i've yet to need a serious repair on it too. You can always use blue book to see what any given make and model car should cost. It gives you a fairly accurate estimate from my experience and you can always use it to bargain with a dealer or private seller. I got a mk4 golf as my first car and I have never regretted it. Vws require their maintenance but if you are willing to keep up with they will keep on runing. I saw a post on a forum of a jetta on 600k miles.
