Volkswagen Golf 7, The Legend Continues

Volkswagen Golf 7, The Legend Continues

On the outside, the new Volkswagen Golf inherits many of the features introduced in the new generation Polo. They draw attention to its sleek front headlamps with a more ragged than usual and a very marked hood. The rear optical hosts a modern, sharp lines connected by a line at the gate. The use of the new MQB modular platform helps reduce the overall weight of 100 kilograms. The new Volkswagen Golf measured 4255 mm long (56 mm more than the Volkswagen Golf VI), has a clearance wheelbase of 2,637 mm (59 mm more than its predecessor). The new measures of Volkswagen Golf allow for a larger cabin and comfortable, where there is more space forlegsin squares and rear trunk, with 380 liters, gains in capacity (30 liters) and comfort when placed in soil only 685 millimeters. In addition, the seats can be folded down completely, leaving a flat floor, and the front passenger seat can also be cut down completely.

Inside, the finishes and materials are of higher quality, the position of leadership is more ergonomic and emphasizes the touch screen located in the center console with sizes ranging from 5.8 to 8 inches depending on the finish. In the mechanical, access to the range will be animated by a 1.2 TSI petrol engine of 85 hp that approves an average consumption of 4.9 liters. It follows the 1.4-liter 4-cylinder, 140 hp, which introduces the family Golfs cylinder deactivation technology to sign an average consumption of only 4.8 liters and CO2 emissions of 112 grams per kilometer. As the mechanical diesel initially have a 105 hp 1.6 engine with an average fuel consumption of 3.8 liters and CO2 emissions of only 99 grams. They also have a two-liter engine and 150 hp with an average consumption of 4.1 liters and emissions of 106 grams of CO2 per kilometer. The usual variant Blue motion becomes the most efficient Volkswagen Golf history to approve a fuel consumption of just 3.2 liters and CO2 emissions of 85 grams per kilometer. As standard, all variants of the new Volkswagen Golf 7 will have the system of automatic stop-start system and battery regeneration. Also comes with an active system that allows you to choose between different driving profiles acting on the steering and the map of the electronic throttle. The four operating modes are: Eco, Normal, Sport and Individual (user programmable).

Some cars are designed to be one pure thing, like a minivan or a pickup. Other cars straddle the line between segments. Such is the case with the four-seat Volkswagen Eos. It鈥檚 a retractable-hardtop convertible coupe, but it鈥檚 not a sports car. It鈥檚 fairly pricey, but I don鈥檛 see it competing with the best of the luxury class. The redesigned 2012 Volkswagen Eos is a small convertible that mixes good materials with a pleasant driving experience, but its price rubs up against some established luxury competitors. Redesigned for 2012, the Eos gains the new Volkswagen 鈥渇ace鈥?already seen on the Jetta. Most obvious is a narrower grille that鈥檚 replaced the large, plunging chrome grille. There are also new taillights. The car has a more angular appearance overall, though I wouldn鈥檛 go so far as to call it aggressive. The 2012 Eos has the same 200-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as the previous Eos, but the manual transmission option has been dropped. The standard transmission now is a six-speed automatic with a manual mode that allows the driver to select gears.

The 2012 Eos comes in three trim levels: Komfort, Lux and Executive. I tested the Lux version. You can compare differences in options and specifications between the 2011 and 2012 Eos Lux here. The roof is where Volkswagen鈥檚 attention to detail sets it apart from others in the convertible market. The Eos has a power retractable hardtop. More important, however, is the fact that it鈥檚 well-designed. Where other tops shake the car when they open and slam shut, the Eos鈥?top works as if it鈥檚 doing something it鈥檚 been designed to do. It takes about 25 seconds to open, but it feels like less time. It does require a fair amount of rear clearance for such a small car, so that鈥檚 something to keep in mind, but overall I think it鈥檚 nicely done. Driving the Eos with the top down is enjoyable. There鈥檚 a wind deflector that pops up above the windshield and a stand-up deflector screen you can install at the rear.
