Why Buy OEM VW Roof Racks?
If you're driving a Volkswagen, you've got a vehicle manufactured by a company dedicated to being the number one carmaker in the world and currently succeeding at that self-imposed goal. All Volkswagen models have the capability of supporting a genuine VW roof rack installation except for the Cabriolet. The starting point for all other models, except the Tiguan, is a base rack or cross-bar set, depending on the specific model. The Tiguan, because it comes from the factory with roof rails already installed, simply requires the addition of carrier bars to form the base for the variety of genuine roof rack attachments available. Most VW models will accept any of the roof rack attachments Volkswagen offers, with a few exceptions. Many of the different car models are capable of using the identical rack as others. The Kayak Holder is an example. It fits all models from the years 1991-2014. Preview our detailed offerings for your particular car or van model to see what's available.
The few exceptions that exist regarding specific units available for particular models include the Routan, which accepts a Canoe Carrier Attachment or a Soft Luggage Carrier not offered for other models. The Touareg requires a special adaptor for the ski and snowboard holder. This attachment includes the base carrier bars and fits only Touareg models (2004-2008). Most VW models will also accommodate the Barracuda Frame Mount Bicycle Holder. Why Buy OEM VW Roof Racks? When it comes to roof racks, there are plenty of third-party aftermarket distributors out there that make available a line to fit various VW models. While some may be quality items, others may be absolute junk. Buying an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts system gives you the guaranteed assurance that you're getting items that measure up to Volkswagen's stringent specifications for quality, durability and functionality. Being made specifically for your vehicle by the factory or a factory-authorized provider, you can also rest easy that the roof rack you get will look good and perform perfectly. When considering the installation of a roof rack for your Subaru, going with a genuine, factory-authorized system will provide you with the assurance that you're getting something guaranteed to work properly with your specific vehicle. In terms of fun factor, I think the other variants could be a little more fun. The thing with the Golf R is that it seems to be focused to making corners feel like straight lines with its grip and all. This is the ultimate point to point production Golf on sale today. It feels so tight and taut that you actually need to take it by it鈥檚 reins and drive like a total lunatic before things get fun. Or out of control. The grip limits of the Golf R are so high that when you drive ten tenths, the speeds are actually so much faster than you think they are. This is one heck of a car. The GTI is the actual overall fun car here. It has that right mix of power and handling. Drive it hard and it will reward you as much as the Golf R. It also allows you to take some liberties if you like a little bit more tail-happy antics.
The Golf R would need, what, 15kmh fast speeds to feel like you鈥檙e alive. But get it wrong on a road like Bukit Putus (where we drove up in the GTI on the way to Johor) you may end up as part of the scenery or in some ravine somewhere. So I liked driving all three variants. The Golf R is the one I鈥檇 like to have for all-weather performance driving. These upgraded Golfs are fun cars. The new centre console infotainment unit and the AID instrument cluster sure does make the interior of these Golfs look and feel more premium than before. So whilst this may not seem like a major upgrade to most who just read spec sheets, it actually it quite an upgrade. These Volkswagen Golfs are hatchbacks that give you performance, tech and a lot of refinement for long drives. Now that Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia is offering 3 years free maintenance and 5 years warranty, these cars seem quite a sensible purchase. If you鈥檙e worried about maintenance issues, remember that these cars pack a whole lot of tech and performance within them and even the TSI R-Line can actually cruise at higher speeds like an Audi A4 can do. How some expect high levels of performance to have super low 鈥楯apanese car-that cannot cruise comfortably at over 160kmh鈥?maintenance costs is beyond me. The point here is that these cars offer you as much, or more performance than many premium sedans so buy one when you are truly sure of what you鈥檙e getting yourself into. Personally, these cars are still so darn interesting to drive and I enjoyed my experience with them.
The modest VW Golf could be a goner round these components. Information that the non-GTI, non-R 2020 VW Golf had actually been formally canceled for the American market prompted a small frenzy when the record turned up on Motor1 today, sourced to a confidential VW employee. But then Roadshow got official word from 2020 Volkswagen Golf GTI Rumors that no final decision had been made, something a speaker repeated to us today. Dropping sales for the Golf versus its efficiency versions are speculated to be the sticking point. Across 2018, Golf GTI and Golf R sales incorporated to comprise almost half the version鈥檚 United States sales quantity despite their higher rates. For added referral, the larger-but-cheaper Jetta outsold the Golf鈥檚 year-long 2018 US sales overall for every solitary month of the past year. Earlier this month we learned 2020 Volkswagen Golf GTI Rumors eventually made a decision to ditch a hybrid powertrain for its next-generation Golf GTI warm hatch, because of premiere next September at the Frankfurt Electric Motor Show.
