However, the sportier Polo GTI version is likely to source its power from a 197bhp, 2.0-litre TSI engine borrowed from the fifth-gen Golf GTI. Transmission options on the carline will include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and an optional 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the BlueMotion trims will use a 5-speed manual unit and could return better fuel economy with reduced carbon footprint. However, there is yet no clarity whether the India-spec Polo will come with same engine setup or not.
