Fun To Drive Semi-premium Daily Driver That Ages Gracefully Into A Great Beater. 鈥?Single college student who owned this car for seven years and REALLY put it through its paces. Get a newer Volkswagen GTI with four doors. Never buy another car again. It's a sharp swiss army knife. It can do small sports car, hatchback, wagon, and sedan; all that with a premium feel. It can be your daily driver, beater, distance driver, weekend toy, and small load hauler all at once. Great car to have in a city. Don't try to haul anything big with it. Higher than average maintenance cost that can be countered with proper upkeep. Volkswagen stands for 'people's car' and this car tickles the different fancies and needs of EVERY person just right, just enough. Pros: Small on the outside. Big on the inside. Jack of all trades. Great daily driver. FUN to drive. Practical with interior size and accessibility of space due to hatch and flat folding seats. Good power, definitely a hot hatch. Fuel economy has held up all these uears. Well equipped and executed interior. Cons: Ugly. Jack of all trades, master of none. Maintenance costs are higher than average due to it's European heritage but not as high as othrr European brands. Lot's of electrical gremlins (charcteristic of all VAG models).
