New Enhanced-range Volkswagen E-Golf Now Available For Order In Europe

All 2017 e-Golf customers receive extended standard features such as Front Assist including City Emergency Braking with the new Pedestrian Monitoring, a multi-function steering wheel (in leather) and Volkswagen Media Control. The electric motor now develops 100 kW/136 PS鈥?5 kW/20 PS more than in the previous model. The compact four-door car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds. Other new features in the e-Golf are the optional Active Info Display (digital instruments) and the standard 9.2-inch Discover Pro infotainment system that is operated by gesture control. As in all electric models from Volkswagen, it is possible conveniently to access various vehicle functions of the e-Golf via the Car-Net 鈥渆-remote鈥?app. A smartphone or tablet can be used to start or stop the air conditioning or battery charging, for example. The app also shows the most recent parking location of the e-Golf on a map. In its exterior appearance, the updated e-Golf features modified front and rear ends with new LED headlights and LED tail lights. The e-Golf heats interior air with an electrical heating unit. It offers the same familiar Golf level of comfort, even at temperatures below freezing. If the user wants to warm up the car while it is charging, utilizing energy from the electrical grid, this can be activated with the 鈥淐ar-Net e-Remote鈥?remote control app. This function preserves the charge of the high-voltage battery, preserving more energy for driving. An optional heat pump warms the vehicle interior using ambient air and lost heat from the power unit components. The heat pump that was specially developed for the e-Golf reduces electrical consumption and improves the driving range of the electric Golf.

Below you will find the service procedure for removal and extraction of the broken spark plugs. This process will take approximately 1 hr and 10 minutes to change all 8 plugs. I have added a link for the tool to remove broken plugs. This is the cheapest you will find this tool. Im doing plugs on a 5.4 and 3 broke. I was able to get 2 of them out. 2 cylinder. The porcelain and electrode are on the electrode shield. I used tge "pusher tool" and it bottoms out. When I look in the spark plug hole it doesn't look like the porcelain is pushed down in the shield. It looks like the whole shield is pushed down into the head and the other tool won't thread into the shield. Is it possible that the shield got pushed down too far? Do you know what the part number for the tool from O'Reilys?

I spent about 14 hours on my plugs. Each one broke, even following the TSB to the letter. In the end i got them all out, but I do have some ideas for consideration for the next person. First, The ceramic pusher said there is no guessing as to how far to push the ceramic down because of the electrode strap, when I went too far, it actually pushed the ceramic through the electrode strap. If you hear a snap when doing this, stop and proceed to the removal tool. It probably was the electrode strap breaking and you don't want to go further. Second, make sure the removal tools threads are not stripped and are in really good shape. I rented one from a local shop and two of the threads were stripped (the first two that would start to bite). I was able to get 7 of the plugs out with it and then the last one wouldn't go. I went back to the shop and got their other tool, which worked great because it was brand new. If you rent - a great option (OReilly Auto - 100 dollar deposit for 2 days and you get a full refund upon return) make sure the tool is in great shape.

The Jetta鈥檚 (with Car DVD) slow and inefficient base engine has finally been shown the door, replaced by a modern, small turbocharged four-cylinder in the S and SE trim levels. The Jetta鈥檚 (with Car DVD) slow and inefficient base engine has finally been shown the door, replaced by a modern, small turbocharged four-cylinder in the S and SE trim levels. Every Jetta also gets a new touch screen interface, while advanced accident avoidance tech is added to the options list. Finally, the diesel-powered Jetta TDI will be unavailable for much or all of 2016 as Volkswagen corrects the car鈥檚 non-compliant emissions system. Volkswagen is still trying to figure out what to do with the diesel-powered engine in the 2016 Jetta TDI model after it was discovered the company has been cheating in emissions testing. The new turbocharged 1.4-litre engine replaces last year鈥檚 wheezy 2.0-litre four-cylinder base engine. Really, from the new 1.4 all the way up to the GLI鈥檚 turbo 2.0-litre and the nifty gas-electric alchemy of the Hybrid, the Jetta鈥檚 engine lineup is uniquely sophisticated and compelling in this generally value-oriented segment.
