2019 Audi S5 Cabriolet

2019 Audi S5 Cabriolet

We have already seen the new Audi A5 2018 and S5 in two doors and the cut off four doors and dos sport. Now the fifth and sixth of the members of the Audi A5/S5, the family has5 and S5 Cabriolet. The new A5 cabriolet will be offered here with a 252-hp 2.0-liter turbo-four-cylinder mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the S5 will have a 354-hp 3.0-liter turbo-V-6 and an eight-speed torque converter automatically. Both models will have Quattro all-wheel drive. We鈥檝e already described what these drives are like in our reviews of the A5 coupe and the A5 and S5 back-up models, and we expect similar performance from the open-covered versions. Audi said the convertibles weigh up to 88 pounds less than their predecessors, to a large extent by the new MLB EVO Architecture, which lays a focus on shedding pounds. This, despite the fact that the cars are larger: the wheelbase is broken to 0.6 inches grown, while the total length is around 1.9 inches. Inside, there is more front shoulder space and rear leg freedom.

The fabric top can be lowered in 15 seconds and closed in 18 seconds while the car moves at speeds of up to 31 mph. All versions receive a standard 鈥渁coustic鈥?fabric top, which uses several layers to reduce noise. The 13-cubic foot fuselage can be extended via the hinged rear rests. Like the fashion today, the trunklid can be opened over a shaft of one foot under the rear bumper. The interior transfers from the other A5 models and is therefore largely identical to the din A4 inside. Expect first-class materials, precise assembly, and Audi virtual cockpit configurable gauge cluster as an option. Wireless device can charge spec鈥檇, and the cars gain fancy microphones integrated into the seatbelts for carrying on Bluetooth phone calls - handy for calls with the top down. Along with more power, the S5 Cabriolet gets a styling change given similar to other newer Audi models. To the unpractised eye, it looks similar to the previous generation, but the lattice takes a defined style, pushing out the front of the car.

Standard LED headlights deliver bright white cover at night, while running lights give the car a unique expression. Diamond Patterned seat seams give the interior a luxurious look, and I especially like the slim design of the sports seats that shave the overall weight safely. Finding the massage function for the seats while I was driving was a pleasant surprise. Even better, I later notice that these seats come standard in the S5 Cabriolet. Although the car comes with two rows, it is a four-seater, with the back only designed for two passengers. While still running a turbocharger 3-liter V6 engine, PS goes up to 354, 21 more than the previous generation, with torque at 369 pounds-feet. This power hits all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Audi Quattro All-wheel-drive system by default to split a 40/60 front/rear torque, and can provide torque as required or locking the center differential to ensure performance. Efficiency technologies, such as idle-stop, also lead to fuel consumption gains over the previous generation. The new S5 Cabriolet comes in 20 mpg city and 29 mpg highway, although I only average 21.9 mpg due to the liberal use of throttle. This is a 2-to 3-mpg gain over the older S5 Cabriolet.
