Man Used Computer Virus To Steal 拢400K From Australian Bank Account





A fraudster who used a computer virus to steal 拢450,000 from a business before blowing the money on handbags, jewellery and clothes, has been jailed. James Molloy from Liverpool used a malware infection to empty the bank account of an Australian technology company and transfer the money into his own account. He then went on a two day spending spree buying Rolex watches, a 拢37,900 diamond engagement ring, 拢8,160 Chanel handbags and 拢5,385 worth of 'Billionaire' clothing from Harrods. Molloy was arrested on March 24 at the passport office in Liverpool as he tried to apply for a passport in another name. After pleading guilty to nine charges of converting criminal property, he was jailed for two years and eight months at Southwark Crown Court.
