The Purpose Of A LED Third Brake Light And Rear Fog Light

The Purpose Of A LED Third Brake Light And Rear Fog Light

In Europe and Japan, there is a mandatory regulation that requires all cars to have a rear fog lamp installed and positioned on the driver side lower rear bumper. The purpose of this lamp is to increase visibility of the car on the road in poor conditions such as fog and haze. On the freeway, some European vehicles may have the driver side of the tail light illuminated brighter than the other side and while many may think this is a defective light, it is actually acting as a rear fog light. If this is something that catches another driver's eye, it is serving its purpose quite well. The rear fog light in Europe has the same brightness as a stop light for vehicles in the United States. Unlike the rear fog light, the United States does require all vehicles made after 1986 to have a functioning third brake light that lights up with the outside tail lights when stepping on the brakes.

This signals to other drivers on the road that you are slowing down since the outside tail lights may not be as noticeable. The more light that is available during the day or night will increase visibility of the vehicle to prevent accidents from happening and is something that should be taken quite seriously. In the United States, there are many vehicles that have red reflector lenses on the rear bumper so the light from other cars can reflect off it. In the aftermarket world, alternative lighting solutions have been introduced to allow car owners to get the add-on rear fog light for both better styles to make the car looks prettier and also to improve the safety. For example, LED bumper reflectors are invented to fit many cars such as Lexus IS250/IS350, Honda CR-Z, and Kia Optima. Another example is the all new LED conversion for cars like Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ and Nissan 370Z's rear center reflector. With the drill pit, wiring, socket and LED light in this conversion kit, car owner can "plant" a LED bulb inside this rear center reflector housing to work as this 4th brake/tail/fog light.

拢30k but costs something in the low-30s once optioned with the Cup-spec limited-slip diff and lower suspension, and optional auto gearbox to make it an equivalent buy to the Golf TCR. Both the Civic and i30N are manual-only. This is an adept and likeable hot hatch with a broad spread of talents - just like the regular Golf GTI Performance. But in the cold light of day it doesn鈥檛 feel like a big step up for the price. It鈥檚 faster, and handles ever so slightly more sharply than the Performance but, based on this first test, it doesn鈥檛 feel enough of a cut above its sister car to justify its strong price tag. This final TCR model is a nice send-off for the Mk7 Golf before it heads for retirement and, for one of us at least, it鈥檚 almost what the Golf GTI should always have been. It can handle the added power and - side decals aside - looks more exciting, while remaining tasteful.

Absolutely not, as that third-row seat is miniscule. 2鈥?seating arrangement for nothing. In the Tiguan鈥檚 defence, its compact-sized rivals mentioned above aren鈥檛 really better. The infotainment system works very well, with big button zones, a reactive screen and a navigation map that鈥檚 easy to read. The climate control layout couldn鈥檛 be any simpler, and the Fender sound system is excellent. On the other hand, some interior plastics as well as the leather seating surfaces (actually leatherette) look and feel cheap. The Tiguan鈥檚 seats are firm yet comfortable, and there鈥檚 a good amount of second-row legroom for teenage and adult passengers. As for cargo space, VW鈥檚 SUV climbs from one of the smallest in its class to one of the biggest, with a maximum volume of 2081 litres with the second-row seatbacks folded. When the third-row seat is added, max volume drops to 1860 litres鈥攚hich is still good鈥攁nd when all the seats are upright, cargo space shrinks to 340 litres, slightly more than in the aforementioned competitors. The retractable cargo cover can be cleverly stowed under the load floor, which is good.
