The Powerful And Thrifty 2019 Volkswagen Eos 2.0 TSI Engine

The Powerful And Thrifty 2019 Volkswagen Eos 2.0 TSI Engine

Volkswagen's Eos convertible returns for 2010 with no changes to its standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four. The Eos shares its turbocharged, 16-valve 2.0 TSI engine with the Volkswagen GTI and Jetta Wolfsburg Edition. The TSI engine is undersquare, with an iron block, an aluminum head, twin balance shafts, and chain-driven dual overhead camshafts, with variable timing for the intake cam. It features VW's Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI) system, which injects fuel directly into the combustion chambers at up to 1,600 psi, improving both power and fuel economy. Directly injecting fuel also cools the intake charge before combustion, which reduces the risk of detonation, despite a compression ratio of 9.6:1, high for a turbocharged engine. The 2.0 TSI has a single BorgWarner K03 turbocharger built into the exhaust manifold, with an air-to-air intercooler to reduce the temperature of the compressed charge before it enters the intake manifold. Maximum boost pressure is 13.1 psi, producing 200 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque. While a 2.0-liter engine producing 100 horsepower per liter might sound peaky, the 2.0 TSI is optimized for low-end and mid-range power. There is very little turbo lag, and Volkswagen claims that 100% of the engine's maximum torque is available from 1,800 to 5,000 rpm. Reviewers note, however, that it runs out of breath at higher engine speeds. Because the Eos weighs substantially more than a GTI or Jetta with the same engine, it is somewhat slower, although the 2.0-liter engine gives it good overall performance. The TSI engine is quiet and fairly refined, even in aggressive driving. The Eos gets surprisingly good fuel economy, considering its weight and performance. EPA city/highway estimates are 21/29 with manual transmission, 21/30 with the optional DSG transmission, although Volkswagen recommends premium fuel.

Under pressure from his base because he won't get additional funding for his wall, he told Republican leaders to basically stuff it. 12/19/18 - In a tweet, Donald Trump announces his intention to pull out of Syria, lock, stock, and barrel and surrender the battlefield to our enemies Russia, Iran, and ISIS. Everybody agrees this is Trump's worse move by far and will have far reaching negative impact on America's relationship with the rest of the world and our trustworthiness. Basically, nobody can trust America anymore for anything. 11/14/18 - President Trump falsely claims voters, in the 2018 midterm elections, got in line, voted, went to their car, changed their shirt, and got in line and vote again! 11/7/18 - The 2018 midterm election was a set-back to President Trump even though he claims it was a resounding victory. It wasn't. In the House, while it was expected the Democrats were "probably" gain a slight majority, it didn't turn out that way.

The Democrats are probably going to pick up more seats than they ever have since 1974 when they gained 49 seats. That is not a win by any measure. Further, the Democrats were supposed to lose many Senate seats, yet they didn't. While the actual results will probably end up with the Democrats losing one or two seats, there was a slim possibility that they might have taken the majority. While they didn't, it wasn't the great lost that was expected. This is not a win either. 11/1/18 - Donald Trump retweeted a very racist political ad equating several thousand men, women, and 2,300 children who are fleeing violence at home and who are 900 miles from the U.S. Arrayed against them will be, so says Trump, upwards of 15,000 U.S. National Guardsmen. At a news conference today, Trump said that if one of the migrants throws a stone at one of the soldiers, etc, it would be OK to shoot to kill.

4/6/18 - Attorney General Jeff Sessions announces the Trump administration "Zero Tolerance" policy which orders DHS to arrest and detain any illegal alien who crosses the southern border regardless of whether they are adults or children or asylum seekers. Because U.S. law does not allow DHS to incarcerate children for more than a short period of time. In the past, all administrations, including Trump's, chose to release the parents along with the children. The zero tolerance policy stopped that and required children to be taken away from their parents. President Trump gave his Chief of Staff Gen Kelly permission to decide whether to downgrade step-son's interim security clearance (he can't get a permanent one) to Secret from Top Secret-SCI (although he hinted that shouldn't happen). Kelly did just that and now Jared Kushner can no longer carry out the portfolio his father-in-law gave to him. The Washington Post reported that leaks from the National Security Adviser office.indicate that at least China, Qatar, Mexico, Israel have been discussing ways to use Jared Kushner's inexperience, naivety, and business conflicts of interest to manipulate him.

I was revealed today that Special Council Robert Mueller's team have been asking pointed questions about President Trump's financial dealings with Russia Early last year Trump said doing this would "cross a red line". 2/26/18 - Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicts Paul Manafort with new charges and gave non-federal crimes to the State of Virginia who is also pressing charges. He also secured a guilty plea from Manafort's business partner Rick Gates to a set of minor charges in exchange for his full cooperation. 12/2/17 - Trump tweeted ""I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI, he pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide! 1/20/2017 - Signed a Memorandum to stop a last minute FHA rate cut of 1/4 point put in place by outgoing President Obama.
