VW Offers MEB Platform To E.Go

German startup e.Go Mobile has become the first partner for the Volkswagen Group’s MEB modular platform for electric vehicles. Go, which specialises in a range of autonomous and electric transport, will use the platform to reduce costs and help it bring EVs to the market. It has not yet been confirmed by either party what vehicles will utilise the MEB platform. This year, VW announced that it would offer its MEB to rival automakers, in the hope of pushing global e-mobility. The German manufacturer has also teamed up with Ford to explore the joint-development of EVs. VW’s new direction comes off the back of the company’s huge €30 billion investment in e-mobility until 2023 - announced the Geneva Motor Show. Take a look at our exclusive interview with e.Go at the Geneva Motor Show. Ford Smart Mobility and the Department for Transport (DfT) are among the first speakers announced for Auto Futures Live. MT Poll What’s Your Favorite Geneva Motor Show Debut

Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition top view1 300x187 imageAlfa Romeo 4C: We waited quite a long time for this car. The Alfa 4C originally debuted at this very same auto show back in 2011. Now the production-ready 4C is here. Bentley Flying Spur: The Bentley Flying Spur (nee Continental Flying Spur) is the British luxury automaker’s updated Rolls-Royce Ghost fighter. The Flying Spur packs a 616-hp 6.0-liter twin-turbo W-12 under its ‘bonnet’ making it the most-powerful four-door Bentley ever made. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible front view 300x187 imageBMW 3 Series Gran Turismo: Yes, it’s a smaller version of the 5 Series Gran Turismo. The new 3 Series GT will slot into BMW’s lineup between the 3 Series wagon and the X3. Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible: The drop-top version of the stunning new 2014 Corvette Stingray was Chevy’s big Geneva Show debut. Like the hardtop, the ‘Vette ‘vert will be powered by a new LT1 6.2-liter V-8 making at least 450 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. Ferrari LaFerrari: The Enzo successor is here! Aside from the somewhat questionable LaFerrari name (hey, at least it isn’t an alphanumeric name, right?) the new Ferrari flagship is simply stunning.

The LaFerrari is powered by a 6.3-liter mid-mounted V-12 and an electric motor, giving it 950 hp. The LaFerrari uses lots of Formula 1 tech, including active aerodynamics and a HY-KERS system. Italdesign Giugiaro Parcour front view1 300x187 imageItaldesign Giugiaro Parcour: the Italdesign Giugiaro Parcour concept came completely out of left-field. The Parcour is an all-wheel-drive, mid-engined, Lamborghini V-10-powered beauty. It’s pretty much the spiritual descendant of the Lancia Stratos, or the Local Motors Rally Fighter’s Italian Cousin. Koenigsegg Agera S Hundra: The special-edition Koenigsegg Agera S Hundra is the Swedish supercar maker’s 100th production car. The one-of-a-kind Agera S (the non-E85 compatible version of the Agera R) has an exposed carbon fiber weave finished with real 24-carat gold leaf inlays. Lamborghini Veneno front three quarters2 300x187 imageKTM X-Bow GT: The KTM X-Bow GT is a more civilized X-Bow. In GT form, the X-Bow now features unheard of luxuries like a windshield, and some doors. The X-Bow GT is powered by an Audi-sourced 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 making between 237- and 296-hp, depending on trim.

Lamborghini Veneno LP750-4: The Lamborghini Veneno is the most-powerful Lambo ever built. Slotting above the Aventador that it’s based on, the Veneno packs a 740-hp 6.5-liter V-12 under its hood, which drives all four wheels. 4.7 million carbon fiber wonders will be built and all have already been spoken for. 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 front1 300x187 imageMcLaren P1: The production-ready version of McLaren’s F1 successor and LaFerrari-fighter debuted this week in Geneva. The new McLaren P1 is a plug-in hybrid that makes a claimed 903 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, thanks to a mid-mounted 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 and an electric motor. Porsche 911 GT3: The new 911 GT3 is the first of many new 991-series variants that the guys in Stuttgart are bound to churn out. The rear-drive 911 GT3 is powered by a naturally aspirated rear-mounted 3.8-liter F-6 making 470 hp and 324 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission will be the only available transmission for the GT3. The 911 GT3 includes new-to-Porsche technology like active rear-wheel steering. Spyker B6 Venator front three quarters1 300x187 imageRolls-Royce Wraith: While Bentley was busy making a Rolls-Royce Ghost rival, Rolls was building a rival to the Continental GT.

The new Rolls-Royce Wraith is that car. At the heart of it, the new fastback is just a two-door Ghost. The new Wraith is powered by a BMW-developed 6.6-liter twin-turbo V-12 making 624 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from 0-60 mph is said to take 4.6 seconds, while top speed is limited to just 155 mph. Spyker B6 Venator: The Spyker B6 Venator is supposed to symbolize the Dutch automakers comeback after it made an ill-fated purchase of Saab from GM last year. The aluminum and carbon fiber bodied B6 Venator is powered by a mid-mounted V-6 making at least 375 hp. 150,000 Venator is set to do battle with the Aston Martin V8 Vantage and Porsche 911 Carrera when it hits the U.S. Toyota FT86 Open Concept rear three quarter2 300x187 imageToyota FT-86 Open Concept: The Toyota FT-86 Open concept is the long-rumored Scion FR-S convertible. The FT-86 Open concept will almost certainly go into production overseas as a Toyota GT86 variant, but no word yet on whether it will become an FR-S Convertible. Volkswagen Golf Variant: The new Volkswagen Golf Variant is our next Jetta wagon. The new Golf wagon has an assortment of gas and diesel engines, and most notably will have an all-wheel-drive TDI variant.
