2019 VW E-Golf Has 83 Mile Range, Gets 116 MPGe

The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf was just nominated as one of five finalists for Green Car of the Year, thanks in part to the soon-to-arrive electric e-Golf. Volkswagen has trotted out the official MPG ratings, and Volkswagen has built itself a contender to the Nissan LEAF. The e-Golf comes loaded with a lot of standard features including an on-board charger that allows for an 80% recharge in as little as 30 minutes through a SAE Combo Charger. The e-Golf also comes equipped with pretty much every other feature you can get on a conventional Golf. 29,860, which leaves the two vehicles in decidedly different price brackets. Also unlike the LEAF, the e-Golf will only be sold in a few select states that have proven to be EV friendly. Then there’s the fact that a new LEAF model is right around the corner with a fresh look and as much as 150 miles of driving range, which could make e-Golf seem obsolete just as sales get going. Does the e-Golf stand a chance, or will Volkswagen’s slow start doom it to slow sales? Source: Gas2. Reprinted with permission.

Volkswagen Scirocco has long been a favorite for automotive enthusiasts with its hot hatch handling and a decent amount of practicality. It comes in a range of petrol and diesel engines so there's a model for everyone's needs. There is an efficient Blue Motion model which appeals to the environmentally friendly while a 2.0-liter petrol engine is for the speed freaks. The depreciation is not an issue as it holds on well to its initial value. The VW Scirocco's has striking looks which make it stand out from the popular Golf Hatchback. Due to its distinctive front end and wide rear it stands out from the crowd. The interior is cheap and doesn't meet the standards set by the rakish interior. Alloy wheels and body colored trim come as standard on all model but if you go for a GT trim, it give you the best blend of looks and price.

The GT model adds sports seats, front fog lights, a multi-function leather steering wheel, tinted rear windows, bigger alloys and climate control. It has strong engines and that shows in its impressive straight line performance. Top spec R budged models are the most thrilling as they offer 265bhp; it is a car for keen drivers. The GT model has a 2.0-liter TSI engine which churns out 210bhp and delivers strong torque. VW Scirocco has strong safety features. It comes equipped with six airbags and ESP fitted as standard. It was awarded full five stars in the Euro CAP safety test. Stability control also comes as standard. The DSG gearbox has proven to be a weak link in the past. Although the VW Scirocco is closely related to the Golf, there is not as much rear space as the Golf. The rear individual seats are less flexible and the 292 liter boot doesn't open swiftly. Scirocco is about style over substance. If you need space then opt for the brilliant Golf. The Scirocco ticks all the boxes with the range of economical engines and less depreciation over the years. It wins the hearts and minds.
