Radio, RNS 510, RCD 510 Satellite Radio Inoperative
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
The internal satellite module inside the radio experiences a communication failure.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Not applicable.
SERVICE
Verify customer has an activate satellite radio subscription. The picture shown is
an example of an unsubscribed satellite service. Refer to Technical Bulletin (TB)
V911309 (91-13-09) for Sirius contact information.

Verify no antenna faults are displayed on the screen. If so, this technical
bulletin does not apply. Refer to TB GROUP 91, NO. 13-13 for assistance diagnosing
an antenna related concern.
If the following display "SAT radio not functional" is seen on the radio, the
radio will need to be replaced.

1. Connect VAS tester
2. Select Vehicle Self Diagnosis
3. Select On Board Diagnostics (OBD)
4. Select 37 - Navigation (or 56 - Radio)
5. Select 004 - DTC Memory Content
6. Select 004.01 - Check DTC Memory
7. If DTC 03181 000 Internal error SDARS module is present, attempt to erase fault.
If unable to clear the DTC, the RNS 510 must be replaced. See Fig. 4 .
