2018 Volkswagen Atlas Info - Commonwealth Volkswagen
Fans of the Touareg can spot its favorite model on the streets. In the world of 4×4 crossovers, the battle is going t o be tough. With new X5 on the way, all mid-size SUVs will have to prepare their response. Volkswagen has it in a new concept. This platform will get its premiere with 2019 VW Touareg. This model should compete it, and all other German products, which are leaders in this class. Nevertheless, we will see if it is capable of doing since the company is still not coming out with details. Not only that sources from the company are quiet on details, but there is not leaking information about the crossover. Nevertheless, we can get some clues if we look at the current lineup and upcoming vehicles that were confirmed. So, according to some guesses, a 3.0-l V-6 is the main option. It is diesel variant of 2019 VW Touareg, and petrol unit could be V-8.

It is not impossible to see this one as diesel also. Another displacement is a 2.0-l four-cylinder drivetrain with a turbocharger. This is just part of the hybrid powertrain, which also gets electric batteries. Range with only electric power is around 30 miles, while diesel can deliver 220 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. A V-8 is more powerful, with 250 hp and 300 pound-feet. The mid-size crossover is not going to present many changes outside the vehicle. Nevertheless, although there are familiar shape and dimensions, 2019 VW Touareg will present many details, making it fresh and attractive. Among others, there are new bumper and lights. Inside, Touareg is modern and comfortable. The new equipment will set up to date gadgets and apps. In the center of the dashboard is big touch-screen display with most of the control functions. Some are installed on the steering wheel. Finally, safety system will probably get few airbags. Also, ABS, cameras and warning features will provide a secure ride. Entry-level trim of the 2019 VW Touareg is a Sport model. A mid-size class is one of the most popular in the car industry, and we can see it on the price. 50,000 tag hangs from German SUV, which is pretty hefty cost. On the other hand, it is not by accident. The Volkswagen is one of the leaders in the segment, and their models are synonyms for reliability and durability.

All controls are easy to reach. The steering column tilts and telescopes manually; optional power adjustments make it easier to fine-tune its position. The switchgear, climate control, audio controls, and window lifts all feel smooth and sophisticated. Move the turn signal lever momentarily and the signals flash three times, handy for lane changes. Instruments are attractive and easy to read, big and clearly marked, using white-on-black graphics. Robust climate controls make adjusting temperature quick and easy. The standard two-zone system (with rear A/C) does an excellent job. The optional four-zone system, allowing separate control of each of the four primary seating positions, may be overkill but it does give passengers more control over their personal space and it works well. Farther down on the center console are big round knobs for controlling the differential locks and air suspension (when equipped). The center armrest features a ring designed to hold large water bottles.

Overhead, you'll find a small indigo display with compass and clock along with a pair of nicely designed map lights. The glove box is air-conditioned, so you can store a sandwich or beverage in there. Touareg's optional Navigation System provides traditional route guidance with mapping and voice announcements. But it also includes a neat off-road navigation system with compass, altimeter, and GPS coordinates. A tracking mode leaves an electronic trail that can be used to retrace your route. Automatic wipers respond well to changing conditions. While driving through a squall in the mountains near Park City, Utah, they quickly changed the wiper speed from ultra-fast to slow to intermittent, then stopped them altogether when the going got dry. The rear seats are firm, supportive, and comfortable. The back seat of a Touareg is a pleasant place to be and we spent several hours there, sometimes in extreme terrain. Vents in the B-pillars help direct air back there and the four-zone climate control offers individual temperature controls. A second heat exchanger for the rear seats helps get heat back there quickly on cold mornings.
