Volkswagen has put up one of their strongest weapons, model Golf. Will have its world premiere there today at the Paris Motor Show, but in addition to the classical version of the Volkswagen will introduce the concept - GTI model. Usually wait about a year or two until the arrival of the GTI, but this time it's not the case. Now we can already predict that the GTI will make its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in the spring of the 2013th year. What makes the GTI concept differs from classical performances at the Golf VII is a new radiator grille with a prominent red lines and labels GTI, chrome tail pipes, and by the rear LED lights. The interior of the car is recognizable thanks to the use of materials that permeate the GTI model, and there are sports steering wheel with flat-bottomed GTI shift knob, different instruments, red ambient lighting and aluminum foot controls. The new GTI's launches new 2.0-liter TFSI with 220 hp and 350 Nm of torque, which will contribute to the Performance Pack power boost for an extra 10 horses. Electric vehicles suffer from range anxiety, while traditional resistive heating consumes a lot of electric energy and reduces EV drive range largely. Mobile reversible air conditioning-heat pump system is an energy efficient way of providing heat to EV cabin climate. In this paper, an AC/HP system was built based on the Nissan Leaf system configuration and experimentally studied. This system consists of three heat exchangers, an open-shaft compressor, two expansion valves, and two flow control valves. Heating performance of the system under various operating conditions was extensively investigated. Controlling subcooling was found a beneficial way of obtaining higher energy efficiency. Refrigerant charge imbalance when switching modes was found to be a challenge, and was studied both experimentally and numerically. Careful positioning of expansion valves, and sizing of liquid lines in both modes are essential in avoiding large charge imbalance. Component wise, the outdoor heat exchanger holds much more charge in AC mode than in HP mode. A steady state simulation model of the components and the system was developed and reasonably validated against experimental data. Options for improvement of the system based on modeling prediction were provided and discussed.

Nearly every Golf is covered by an impressive 6-year, 72,000-mile warranty that can be transferred to subsequent owners.


The warranty doesn’t apply to the limited-market e-Golf, however. 22,700 and include power features, air conditioning, alloy wheels, cloth seats, blind-spot monitors, a 6.5-inch touchscreen for infotainment with Bluetooth, and automatic emergency braking. 1,300 buys adaptive cruise control, 17-inch wheels, and active lane control. 2,500 on the SportWagen S. No all-wheel-drive SportWagen SE is available. The all-wheel-drive Golf Alltrack is more popular with consumers than the SportWagen and is offered in three trims: S, SE, SEL. 27,800, the Alltrack S builds on the SportWagen S with synthetic leather seats and active safety tech. SE and SEL trims add larger screens, moonroofs, upgraded audio, and active lane control. Our recommendation is the Golf S SportWagen with all-wheel drive and active safety features. 26,000, the wagon balances value, four-seasons performance, and utility exceptionally well. VW has not detailed the 2019 e-Golf, but we’ll update this space when we know more. 28,500 and includes plaid cloth upholstery, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, and heated front seats. Golf GTI SE and Autobahn trims pile on more features such as a larger touchscreen, a power driver’s seat, leather upholstery, and an adjustable suspension. 42,400 with the dual-clutch transmission. That makes for a costly Golf, but at least it’s well-equipped with leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, a moonroof, a full suite of active safety tech, and premium audio.
