I've owned the car for almost a year now and it has happened at least 7 other times. Now I realize this is very dangerous because when the car stalls the steering wheels gets very hard and it makes it almost impossible to move the steering wheel or use the brakes. Car stalls. It is a 6 speed manual transmission. Tdi. Continually stalls. Have also had 2 instances of brake going to floor board. Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact also stated that the vehicle idled roughly. The vehicle was able to be restarted and began to function normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unavailable. The VIN was not available. 2012 Jetta tdi manual, the first occurrence happened after traveling on a downhill grade when I came to a complete stop at the stoplight the car started to shutter and acted like it was going to stall.

This exact incident happened several times a month for no rhyme or reason. The car has now started to do the same thing more frequently and will now stall out. It used to be on cold starts and would happen within the first 10 miles of driving. It now does it anytime you are driving. I tried to start the car after work three days ago and when I started the car it shuttered and stalled, I attempted to start the car three more times before it finally stayed started. While driving home the car acted up again at the stop light shuttering and acting like it was going to stall out. The car had to be towed to the dealership. The dealership can't figure out the problem. I am scared that I will be out in the intersection or worse be on the expressway and the car will stall out and I will end up getting hit.

Spring is around the corner, and several automakers have already introduced 2006 models. Meanwhile, many 2005 models have been on sale for over a year 鈥?so you鈥檇 think there would be no more 鈥?5s to be introduced. But wait, there is one more 鈥?VW鈥檚 2005 new Jetta. The word 鈥渘ew鈥?has to be inserted in its name, as the 鈥渙ld鈥?Jetta has also been available as a 2005 model for many months. Yes, which is why VW tells us to think of the 鈥渘ew鈥?Jetta as a 2006 model, even if it isn鈥檛 officially. It should be though, as the all new fifth-generation Jetta is totally different from the previous generation in looks and feel. The Jetta is a critically important model to Volkswagen in the U.S. It is the company鈥檚 best-selling model here, and also the best-selling European model in the U.S. VW鈥檚 sales have dropped precipitously in the last couple of years and, sadly, this is nothing unusual for VW as its U.S.

And in each of the past four decades a new model has helped the company鈥檚 revival. Last time it was the New Beetle and the previous Jetta. This time VW鈥檚 turnaround will be almost entirely reliant on the new Jetta as the Phaeton and Touareg are too upmarket to ever be volume sellers. The Jetta celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and it has always been a car that appeals to Americans far more than Europeans. In Europe it is called the Bora and its sales are miniscule compared to the Golf. As all manufacturers have discovered, Americans do not like hatchbacks while Europeans far prefer them. That鈥檚 why the Jetta is being made exclusively in Mexico and will be exported around the world within a few months. It also explains why the Golf, which is already on sale in Europe, is still months away form being introduced in North America. Once it does reach these shores it鈥檒l put VWoA in an awkward financial position. It鈥檚 supposed to be a less expensive vehicle than the Jetta yet as it is built in Europe it will actually cost VW more to make than the Jetta. It鈥檚 no wonder the new Jetta is considered so critical to VW at this juncture in its history.
