2019 VW Golf Caught In Denmark Looking Oh-So Familiar

2019 VW Golf Caught In Denmark Looking Oh-So Familiar

Even though the development of the Golf VIII has suffered a setback, Volkswagen is still planning to show the revamped version of its most popular model late this year. While many people will complain the Golf鈥檚 styling will be more of the same, why mess around with a successful recipe? It will be a different story on the inside as while the exterior will be an evolution, the cabin will represent a revolution compared to the current Golf. VW has promised a high-tech interior with digital screens replacing most of the traditional controls, at least on the upper-spec models as the cheaper ones could get a more basic setup. In regards to engines, we鈥檙e not expecting any major changes. The gasoline lineup should include the familiar 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI three- and four-cylinder units, joined by the 2.0 TSIs in the hotter GTI and R models already confirmed for a 2020 release. Diesel fans should still be able to rely on the 1.6 TDI and the bigger 2.0 TDI. The fully electric e-Golf won鈥檛 live to see a new generation since it will be replaced by an I.D. Should you want an electrified Golf, the GTE plug-in hybrid will still be offered.

An Autocar UK report has confirmed that Volkswagen will introduce a range-topping GTI model for its up! 2018 in three- and five-door body styles. Targeting the Fiat Abarth 595, the up! GTI will use a more powerful version of the company鈥檚 new 1.0 litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine. In the facelifted up! EA211 mill provided 90 PS and 160 Nm but the GTI will see about 115 PS and 200 Nm of torque. Buyers will also get to choose from either a five-speed manual or possibly a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. In terms of performance, the report stated that up! GTI prototypes were able to make the century sprint in 8.8 seconds (compared to 10 seconds), and will hit a top speed of about 191 km/h. Compared to its Italian rival, which packs a larger 1.4 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the up! GTI will be at a power disadvantage. The T-Jet mill in the 595 Turismo provides up to 165 PS and 230 Nm of torque, and even more in the 595 Competizione (179 PS/250 Nm). Power aside, the up! GTI will also receive a heavily retuned MacPherson strut (front) and torsion beam (rear) suspension setup, featuring its own spring and damper rates, together with a lowered ride height. It will also get a host of GTI-specific exterior styling revisions to compliment the boost in performance, such as different bumpers, 16-inch wheels with 205/40-profile tyres and wider sills.

The paint work on this Golf is fantastic in the original colour of 'Atlas Grey'. The standard GTI trim and big bumpers are in beautiful condition with no scuffs or scratches and the overall body is beautiful. The GTI boasts the Volkswagen 15鈥?BBS RA alloy wheels which are in superb condition and have four matching tyres with a very good amount of tread on each tyre. The GTI features the 16v 'rainbow' material. The seats and upholstery throughout the vehicle are marvellously clean, as well as the black carpet and headlining. This model has power-assisted-steering, central locking, immobiliser, working stereo and has the very rare optional factory extras of electric windows, electric-adjustable door mirrors and the added luxury of air conditioning. This example is factory standard and all of the mechanical components are working brilliantly. Volkswagen carried out a full service and air-con check in April 2019 and the air conditioning has just been reconditioned so is working beautifully in time for Summer. There is a large folder of service history present with the Golf which also includes the original service record and user manual book pack. There are also MOT certificates present, verifying the mileage. The car is fully HPI clear. This Volkswagen is truly stunning throughout and a perfect investment vehicle which will continue to appreciate in value over time but also can be thoroughly enjoyed! The drive and appearance is equally satisfying in quality. Come and see for yourself how beautiful this German classic is!

Few cars can be both fun and practical, but the Volkswagen Golf GTI has done it for more than a quarter of a century. Combining the sensible nature of the Golf hatchback with various performance enhancements, the GTI is the iconic hot hatch for the everyman. Some GTIs have fared better than others through the years, but we're pretty sure the 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI will rank as one of the best yet. This year's full redesign is one reason why. Visually, the changes are subtle, with reshaped headlights and taillights as well as sharper creases on the body's side. The new GTI is just a bit longer and wider than the outgoing one, but a new sloping hood design gives it a shorter, more dynamic look. Inside the differences are also slight. Rear seat and cargo space increase slightly, and that's a good thing. The GTI's interior was already one of the better ones in terms of design and quality.
