A Fun Car That Falls Just Over Par

A Fun Car That Falls Just Over Par

The 2018 Volkswagen e-Golf, like the rest of the non-electric Golf line, is a hoot to drive. It鈥檚 a smooth drive with tight handling and zippy acceleration. Unfortunately, the 2018 e-Golf hasn鈥檛 quite found its niche in-between its closest EV competitors. 4k more expensive with twice the range. Fans of the Volkswagen Golf family will find a lot of the familiar reasons to like this car but someone who鈥檚 looking for an electric vehicle with a more outstanding competitive edge should pick an alternative. The e-Golf wasn鈥檛 made in large volumes so they can be difficult to find and VW isn鈥檛 planning to make a 2019 model (you can鈥檛 even find the 2018 model on the VW website!). The e-Golf鈥檚 range in the 2018 model (and 2017) was tested at 125 miles on a full charge by the EPA. The sub-150 mile range tends to be sufficient for getting errands done around town but any more substantial travel can potentially be range-anxiety inducing.

However, it鈥檚 worth noting that most online reviews from people who own the e-Golf report that they鈥檙e seeing better than 125 miles of range, sometimes up to 150 which would make it more competitive with the Nissan Leaf. However, the e-Golf鈥檚 battery is air-cooled instead of liquid-cooled which could lead to faster degradation over the lifetime of the battery. The e-Golf features a 134 horsepower, 214 lb-ft of torque is more than enough to scoot around urban environments and it鈥檚 integrated into the powertrain with the typical master of VW. The e-Golf鈥檚 biggest strength in comparison to similarly priced EVs, is its zippy performance on the road and the grin that it puts on your face as you tightly hold sharp corners with ease. The e-Golf features a handsome shell that VW has been iterating on for years. It looks androgynously sporty and refined without annoyingly screaming 鈥淚鈥檓 an electric car鈥?like some other EVs in its class. The e-Golf鈥檚 interior, like the exterior, maintains VW鈥檚 sleek, premium feel and may make you think that you tricked a dealer into selling you a luxury car at a value-car price.

The cabin is spacious enough for four people and can fit five without too much discomfort. The 8 inch touchscreen looks great and is easy to use. The engineers at VW smartly placed the battery under the chassis which leaves a lot of space for cargo room. Overall, the e-Golf features one of the most comfortable and stylish interiors. While the electric variant itself was not tested, the NHTSA awarded the 2018 Volkswagen Golf a perfect five out of five star rating. Similarly, the IIHS awarded mostly 鈥淕ood鈥?and 鈥淎cceptable鈥?ratings to most subcategories of the 2018 VW Golf. The safety ratings of this car are slightly better than average. The base e-Golf trim is the SE and, frankly, is the only trim we鈥檇 recommend you go for. 6,500 more expensive and just buys you leatherette seats, an upgrade to the infotainments system, and some driving convenience features like cruise control. DC Fast Charging is optional on the SE and included by default in the SEL so that鈥檚 a feature you may want to seek out of you choose the SE. 37,945. As mentioned earlier, the SEL variant is especially not price-competitive as you can buy a Chevrolet Bolt with twice the range for less. Volkswagen offers the closest thing to an industry standard on electric vehicle battery warranties: 8 years and 100,000 mile with at least 70% battery capacity remaining, guaranteed. That鈥檚 important because the battery is air-cooled which makes it more likely to drop below the warranty鈥檚 70% benchmark.

One catch is you can't lose the red ball. If all groups lose the red ball the team holding it the longest is the winner. Love your Lens, fantastic tips on varying up a round of golf, especially when playing with people of different levels. Thanks for the new ideas and best wishes! These are nice element of fun to the golf games with some hilarious mulligan golf cards. Such lenses can boost the mindset of an amateur by having a good knowledge about the game of golf. Nice lens and best of luck for the future! Why don't you play a tin whistle or stapleford. Wolf is one of the best golf games you can play on the course. It definitely gives everyone a chance to score and win some bets. Interesting lens. Very informative. Best ball is still my favourite game. These are great. I had never heard of them before.
