Enjoy your visit(s) here! The BMW 507 was another idea from the man who single-handedly made the small Volkswagen Beetle a huge yet unexpected success in America: Max Hoffmann. BMW having nothing more to offer in the U.S. 501 and 502 models during the early Fifties, Hoffmann insistently requested a more appealing model for this particular market. BMW had increasing financial difficulties at the time and finally accepted, seeing its salvation in the potential American sales. The Bavarian company answered the call with not just one, but two new models: the elegant 503 coupe and convertible, and the striking 507 roadster. Both cars had been penned by Albrecht von Goertz. Apart from its stylish body, the 507 tried to make good use of as many parts as possible from the existing BMW models, in order to keep production costs relatively low. Still, it was deemed necessary to enlarge the 2.6-litre light-alloy V8 engine on hand to 3.2-litre in order to reach the level of performance expected from such a car. Fed by two Solex carburettors, it was rated at 150 hp, propelling the 507 at 200 kph. Alas, despite all the efforts from BMW鈥檚 engineers, the cost per unit of this wonderful automobile somehow got out of control. Simple, even perhaps crude as Motor Max knows as to produce die-casts, but this time at least, it鈥檚 quite well assembled. One last remark: the windshield appears somewhat tall. Finally, this die-cast has been offered by M-Smart, which actually got its hands on a stock on unsold Del Prado press models. It is very well made for the price, accurate and fitted with good-looking wheels - only the headlights could have been much better.

Volkswagen Golf GTI is a favorite among the Autoblog staff. Until recently, one among us owned a fifth-generation model. The current Mk7 is a great car, but it's getting along in years. It's been on sale for four years in the US and six years in Europe. Naturally, then, development on the eighth-generation model is underway, and spy photographers caught an early test mule having a bit of trouble on the road. This trouble did give us a good look under the hood, but the mess of wires and black plastic doesn't really reveal much. It's likely to have an updated version of the current GTI's 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four. Inside, we can see that the mule is a Mk7 model fitted with some updated equipment, most notably a new shifter, new HVAC controls and a new digital instrument cluster. Expect the new interior to better integrate controls for active safety equipment.

AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2005 Volkswagen Golf using a basecoat/clearcoat system just like factory specs. To insure a proper match, you鈥檒l need to know your vehicle鈥檚 color code so you can find it on the chart below. The paint code is normally located in the back compartment panel in the trunk. Click here for Volkswagen paint code location diagrams and label examples. Don't see your color listed? We probably have it. Did you choose the wrong vehicle model? Why The Two-Step Paint System? Your 2005 Volkswagen Golf is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. I am very pleased with your two stage, aerosol paint. It matches perfectly and is easier to blend in with the surrounding areas. I tried a single stage, acrylic enamel that I could purchase locally, but this is too difficult to blend, and takes a long time to dry. It too is an aerosol, but left too much orange peel. Products purchased were sent on time, and worked extremely well to match a 13 year old vehicle. Will go back to this company in future. Thank you so much!
