Exhaust Heat Shield, Replacement Guidelines
Underbody heat shields are important for proper vehicle performance. Heat Shields are
to be inspected after completion of any type of repair to the underbody (exhaust
system, transmission, etc.), and if damaged, replaced.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Damaged heat shields may exhibit the following symptoms:
? Bent/Moved out of tolerance heat shield material
? Lack of sufficient clearance
? Torn/Damaged heat shield material
? Contaminated (fluid saturation) heat shield material
? Peeling/Separating heat shield material resulting from damage

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
NOTE: Care must be taken when performing any type of underbody repair around
the area of a heat shield, including but not limited to, catalytic
converter/exhaust service, transmission service.
NOTE: Damage to a heat shield caused by outside influence (sticks, road debris etc)
will be the responsibility of the customer.
Damage to a heat shield caused by a technician during service or repair will
be the responsibility of the dealership.
Heat shield replacements covered under warranty may be subject to
verification by the WTC.

Donald Trump's New Cadillac Limo Is Coming This Summer

The Beast 2.0 is on the verge.

More than a year after it was expected to arrive, President Donald Trump’s new wheels will arrive shortly. Affectionately known as the Beast 2.0, the new presidential limo will officially enter service this summer. The current fleet of presidential limousines debuted on Barack Obama’s first Inauguration Day in 2009. It was expected that Trump would be presented with his own version at his inauguration in 2017, but the car wasn’t quite ready yet.

However, according to Fox News, the Secret Service now has its hands on at least one of the new presidential limos and is putting the final touches on it. “We’ve completed our task and we’ve handed over the vehicle to the customer,” Cadillac President Johann de Nysschen told Fox. A spokeswoman for the U.S. Secret Service added that “the program to build and deploy the next generation of Presidential limousines is on track and on schedule — both in terms of vendor production and internal Secret Service post-production requirements. The public can expect to see the new vehicles put into operational use late summer of this year.”

Prototypes of the Cadillac-built state car have been spotted wrapped in black and white camouflage and is expected to look significantly different than the previous model, shown here. Based on a heavy-duty truck platform and sporting modern Cadillac cues, GM will build a dozen versions of the limo under a $15.8 million contract with the U.S. Government. Like the current presidential limo, The Beast 2.0 will feature reinforced doors, extra thick bulletproof windows, technology to prevent the effects of an EMP blast, and an air filtration system to protect from a biological attack. More detailed details would be a risk to national security.

Cadillac has built every presidential limousine since 1993, a distinction the brand views as an important association. “It’s always been part of our heritage and tradition, we have transported presidents over time, and we hope to be able to do so in the future, as well.” de Nysschen added.

“The Beast” Is Back: Check Out Trump’s New Presidential Limo

Bigger. Badder. And still truck-based.

It was no secret former President Obama’s official ride, nicknamed “The Beast”, would be retired in the near future. It originally went into service in 2009. Until its replacement arrived it would continue to serve its country as President Trump’s heavily armored limousine.

But it now appears there’s a new “Beast” on duty as the recently shot video from New York City proves. The president is in the Big Apple to meet with world leaders at the annual UN General Assembly. This video shows his extensive motorcade making its through one of many temporarily closed city streets. But if you skip ahead to around the 3:05 mark you’ll notice The Beast looks different than before. That’s because it is.

Meet the all-new Cadillac-based presidential limousine. Let’s call it “The Beast: Part Deux.” We’ve known the presidential limo had been in development since around 2013 at a cost of nearly $16 million in development contracts awarded to GM. As is the case with previous presidential limos, the new vehicle’s specifics are being kept under wraps for security reasons.

What we do know about previous presidential limos is that they featured things like Kevlar-reinforced run-flat tires, fire suppression systems, its own oxygen supply system, emergency medical equipment that includes spare blood for the president in a case a transfusion is necessary, and even a small armory of weapons.

Its body and glass are also bomb and bulletproof. And while The Beast: Part Deux may somewhat resemble a stretched Cadillac CT6, we can assure you it’s not. Like its newly retired predecessor, this limo rides on a truck platform and no civilian version will be built. Last May, Russian President Vladimir Putin received a new limousine of his own, a Russian-built vehicle in place of the old Mercedes-S600. We’d still opt for the latest Beast because America.
