The VW Golf Or The Audi A3?

Blue van to sell [Paris 3e]
The Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf both share the same platform, as they are both products of the VW Audi Group. Both VW and Audi have competing models in their line up, the A3 Vs the Golf the A4 Vs the Passat and the A8 Vs the Phaeton to name but a few. I love my German cars especially VWs, Audis and Seats I'm stilling growing to love Skoda, but it may take a few more years. I have a bit of a dilemma at the moment; I need a small hatchback that is good on fuel, low on insurance as well as low on tax. There were only two real candidates in my head, the Golf and the A3, my wife did mutter "focus" but ignored her, don't get me wrong the Focus is a very good car but I want German. To be honest I've 80% decided to go with the Audi A3, it's slightly rarer than the Golf and you don't see many being driven by boy racers. The Golf is a very good car; I would go for the Golf GT TDi as it would give me excellent economy of 47.1 mpg plus the great looks. The Audi A3 would have to be the 1.9 TDIe Sport which gives 62.8mpg, that is astonishing! It looks brilliant too. Price wise there is not much of a difference, I have seen an Audi A3 in Barrow in Furness so will be checking that out in the next day or so. My brother in law has the Golf GT TDI so I'll take that for a spin to use as a good comparison but, I'll more than probably go with the A3.

And that is not the best news yet---the 1-series that will debut at the US market will possess BMW's fabulous new twin-turbo, 3.0 liter inline-6. This is the same engine found in the new BMW 335i coupe and convertible that features the piezo direct injection and delivers significantly more thrust than its official 300hp rating suggests. The 1-series has also lighter weight; its powerful hatch should be able to beat the 335i's sprint to 62mph by 5.1 seconds. Its performance is comparable to that of the previous M3. Also coming to the US market is BMW's newest naturally aspirated 3.0 liter inline-6. The 1-series cars that would debut at the US market will be two-door versions only. This means that the US market will miss out on the five-door version. But BMW has made it clear that additional models will be added later on but they would like first to get a quick read on the viability of the car's acceptance in the US before they deploy other models.

The 135i and 130i will also be launch in two-door hatchback forms and soon probably a two-door convertible and sedan with a proper trunk will also be offered but of course this is something for BMW to decide on. Prices for the 1-series hasn't been finalized but expect the car to cost somewhere between the BMW 3-series and MINI. The BMW 1-series with codename E87 is a small luxury car/small family car manufactured by the German automaker BMW since 2004. The 1-series were created to compete with Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf. The 1-series is also the only vehicle in its class that features rear-wheel-drive and longitudinally-mounted engine. BMW 1-series was first offered to the market in 2004 as a 5-door hatchback was offered as a replacement for BMW 3-series compact range. The 1-series is currently the smallest and most affordable vehicle depending on the engine model of course offered in the BMW range. Unlike the first generation of 1-series the all-new 1-series of BMW is built on its platform (E87) but its shares many components with the E90 3 Series. BMW's 1-series is built in Regensburg, Germany while some of its engines are from the Hams Hall plant in Birmingham England. In the year 2005 it became one of BMW's most successful products with 149, 493 units sold. BMW AG is an independent German Company and manufacturer of automobiles, quality auto parts like window regulators & motors and others, and motorcycles. It was founded by Karl Friedrich Rapp who was originally an aircraft engine manufacturer. BMW is the parent company of the MINI and Rolls-Royce car brands and formerly Rover.

If you're in the market for a new family hatchback below is a rundown on the top five as voted by a renowned online car buyer's guide. Top of the picks is the Volkswagen Golf hatchback which is described by the use of words like 'refined', 'comfortable' and 'fun'. As most Volkswagen cars it's reliable and well built and holds it value well, it comes with an array of safety kit as standard and both looks and feels good to drive. It's only let down by its rather conservative appearance. In at number two comes the Skoda Octavia which has more space than the VW Golf and offers great value for money. But the models on the lower end of the price scale also miss out on some equipment so expect to pay more for things like rear electrical windows and alloys. The green Toyota Prius gets the third spot with its spacious cabin and big boot. It's got excellent fuel economy and low emission which makes up for the rather disappointing interior. Forth in the top five is the Hyundai i30 which is the cheapest of the top five cars and also comes with a great warranty package. It's described as a solid car but a bit bland. Last of the top five cars is the Mazda 3 which is described as funky and fun with good resale value. So if you're in the market for a new family hatchback, you probably won't go wrong by checking out one of the above. If you're after a new Volkswagen, Mitcham has a dealership which should be able to help.
