2019 Audi Cross Cabriolet Concept

Audi is expanding at an incredibly rapid rate. Behind the glamor of its show-ready body, the Cross Cabriolet previews the upcoming Audi Q5. This year has been spectacular from a product standpoint, with many new concept and production debuts. The overflow of models has even resulted in concept cars being shown at lesser known shows, not just the main stages at the biggest events. Perhaps the most important thing about these concept cars is that Audi has a track record of committing such prototypes to production in one form or another. In the past decade, at least, almost everything the brand has shown as a concept ended up on the road. The Q7, A5, R8, TT - all of these vehicles owe their exterior and interior designs to various concept cars. This metallic orange concept crossover you see here is different, as the brand has never done anything like this before.

While crossovers aren't new, it's a different sort of blend - convertible and premium compact SUV. Roof up, it has the profile of any new Audi convertible. The transformation from coupe to convertible is a fairly quick one, taking just 17 seconds from start to finish. The multi-layered fabric top might not be the “Acoustic Roof” that Audi fits to a variety of its convertibles, but it has been said that it provides comparable levels of noise and heat insulation to a conventional metal roof. To ensure that all occupants stay nice and warm, even in colder weather, all four sets are equipped with an airscarf system, which jets warm air through the headrests for comfort. Also, an intercom system allows each passenger to talk and hear everyone else clearly, even at high speeds with the roof down. Finished in Stone White, the interior of the Cross Cabriolet is a continuation on modern Audi interior design.

Interior is intelligently designed and beautifully finished. The dome-shaped console and dash house a variety of new technologies, including Audi's latest navigation display interface. While much of the system is controlled via MMI, a touchscreen system that features similar capabilities to a tablet computer notebook has been added. The screen can, for instance, feature menus that can be moved around by dragging and dropping; this is also handy for searching maps. And speaking of maps, the new system also works in conjunction with Google Earth to help you get exactly where you're going, complete with live updates for traffic, weather and other valuable services. Convertibles tend not to be practical vehicles, but cross-pollinating this vehicle genre with an SUV has really changed the outcome. Nav system works with Google Earth to give live updates for traffic, weather and more. Audi's engineers have actually designed the cloth roof with a hinging rear window for easier loading. What's more is that the trunk is quite deep, which gives the convertible storage space equal to that of its non-convertible competitors, measured from below the window line. In terms of the trunk's floor size, it is 3.8 feet by 3.5 feet.

Ignore for a moment the cloth folding roof, the lack of side pillars and the two missing doors and what's left is the basic outline for what will become the Q5 crossover SUV. At 15.1 feet in length, it's right in the thick of the compact premium SUV segment, dominated by the X3, RDX, LR2, and soon the Infiniti EX. Yet, you won't be mistaking the Q5 for anything else, as its styling is authentically Audi. The black cladding and raised suspension pay homage to Audi's allroad. Although LA, and all of California for that matter appear to be vehemently anti-diesel, the Q5's “oil burning” powerplant isn't just for show. Audi specifically chose to showcase its latest 3.0-liter TDI V6 diesel engine as a way to prove it's shifting its gears into diesel for North America. The body has a seamless profile to it, although it's a bit at odds with the high-riding nature of the vehicle. Audi to claim it as the world's cleanest diesel.

As of 2008, Audi will be able to sell a diesel car once more, including states where the toughest emissions standards apply. But diesel isn't just about going green. It's about power, torque and fuel economy. This engine makes 240 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque, most of which is available from just over idle. That's more than plenty to propel it to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and then on to a top speed of 150 mph. Fuel economy is nevertheless still excellent, at 32 mpg. The idea of selling a diesel car in certain North American markets might be as ambitious as bringing a premium compact convertible SUV to market, but one of these will indeed come true (hint, it isn't the convertible). The Q5 quattro is well on its way to production, and when it arrives will provide Audi with yet another strong competitor. While no dates or even a finalized version of the vehicle have been announced, the production Q5 should be making its debut during 2008. As for the production Cross Cabriolet? Keep your fingers crossed.

2019 아우디 Audi Q8 - 블로그Today on 4th December, leading European auto manufacturer Volkswagen has launched its long awaited small car model Volkswagen Beetle in Indian market. The company has launched only one variant of the car and it will be imported as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) from company's Mexico based manufacturing plant which increases the Volkswagen Beetle price to a large extent. Volkswagen Beetle is priced at Rs 20.45 lacs (as ex-showroom prices in New Delhi). European auto major Volkswagen has launched its most awaited luxurious small car model Volkswagen Beetle in Indian market in premium D-segment. The company has launched only one variant of Volkswagen Beetle which will be equipped with the 2.0L, petrol engine with six speed automatic transmission gearbox. The all new Volkswagen Beetle is a cute looking small car that carries unique and stylish exteriors. Volkswagen India has launched Volkswagen Beetle in India to compete with another D-segment luxurious small car Fiat 500 and another awaiting model Fiat Bravo, that might be launched in the Indian market in June 2010 in the same segment. The company officials announced that they will import the car as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) from its Mexican based manufacturing plant.

Volkswagen Beetle is powerful, luxurious and stylish car that offers the thrill of SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) with size similar to Tata Nano. Volkswagen Beetle is available only with petrol engine option with six speed manual transmission gearbox. Volkswagen India has launched only one variant of Volkswagen Beetle which is powered by the 2.0L, 1984cc, petrol engine with six speed automatic transmission gearbox. This 2.0L power-plant produces 115bhp of maximum power with 172Nm of maximum torque. Volkswagen Beetle is a very stylish and refined hatchback car which includes the German engineering and performance to get exceptional fit and finish. Volkswagen Beetle offers dashing and elegant interiors but its tight cabin space limits its appeal. Its exterior body shape makes its handling more comfortable. Volkswagen Beetle is a front wheel drive car which is built on MK4 generation Volkswagen Golf/Jetta platform. Volkswagen Beetle PictureRaising and lowering the top of Volkswagen Beetle is pretty simple - just push a button on the instrument panel which will take it up or down.

Volkswagen (VW) launched the first Mark I Golf GTI way back in 1974 as a 2-door hatch and was an instant hit because it offered more value for money and went faster than most other sports cars of that time. Over the years it became bigger, bulkier and slower. But the new Mark V GTI is in a league of its own. VW have paid attention to details, even today, the honeycomb front radiator grille on the car has a subtle line of red lip gloss making it beautiful enough to be recognised. The well rounded corners and flared wheel arches are anything but over aggressive. Our test car was 4-door Lemon yellow coloured chick magnet. All the important sporting details are there but so subtly that it doesn’t attract undue attention. The brake callipers for instance are sporty red in colour, bi-xenon headlamps and low mounted fog lamps light up the road adequately (you can even program them to stay on for longer after you lock the car). You can take the GTI to a hotel and expect the concierge to open the door for you.

The true spirit of the GTI has returned with double the power compared to the first version. It develops 200 bhp from a 2 litre, 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. There is usable power throughout the rev range and the torque at 280 Nm @ 1800-5000 RPM is a shot in the arm that keeps you bolted to your seat as it accelerates to 100 kph in 6.9 seconds! Usually car equipped with turbochargers have turbo lag (within a turbocharger's operating range, lag is the delay between the instant a car's accelerator is depressed and the time the turbocharged engine develops a large fraction of the power boost). The GTI has little to none of it from speeds as low as 50 kph in 6th gear it just charges ahead. Mated to 6-speed DSG (double clutch gear) gearbox from Audi the transmission is smooth as silk. And it also has tip-tronic shift with sport mode and F1 style paddle shift on the steering wheel.

The GTI has the puppy dog enthusiasm to take the corners tighter and faster. It happily swings its tail out if pushed harder despite being a front wheel drive car. Unlike SUV’s it won’t drink up a litre of fuel as you park the car. Its fuel efficiency and performance are both award winning. It rides low but weighs only 1380 kilograms. Sports cars usually have a stiffer suspension, it aids handling. The GTI’s all independent suspension package; McPherson front axle with anti-roll bars with wide track and 4-link rear axle assures dynamic performance especially on sharp bends. The ride is firm but comfortable. Our test car even came with a tyre pressure monitoring system. The interiors are German dull black with red and blue backlit dials. The GTI rides on wide 225/40R18 tyres with Detroit 5-spoke alloy wheels, disc brakes all around provide excellent stopping power and safety aids like ESP, ABS, EBD are highly effective. Additionally, there are ten airbags in the car and it has been awarded a 5-star EuroNCAP safety rating. The Golf GTI may be a small car; its boot is big enough for your dog to play around in, with the seats down it large enough to move your desk. It’s a safe car; something even women will enjoy driving. The GTI does everything you could possibly want from a car. You can take your children to school comfortably, practically, safely and then on the way to work, you can give it some stick and go bonkers! The engine has a lovely rasp as the revs climb, it redlines at the blink of an eye and we enjoyed the orchestra. In its 2-door version, it becomes better suited to a newly wed couple. We’re actually pressing hard to find faults with this car; Guess the only thing we can complain about is the lack of cup holders. Buying this car over SUVs would do the world some good.

2019 BMW X5 Offers More Horsepower And A Little Less Torque

It may resemble last year’s model at first glance, but it’s not. The all-new 2019 BMW X5, which the marque likes to call a Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) instead of an SUV, gets two new engine options, a bigger grille, and new technology. Under the hood, the BMW X5 xDrive50i packs a twin turbo 4.4-liter V-8 with 456 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque versus 445 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque from last year’s V-8 mill. BMW claims a 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds and an optional top speed of 155 mph. The X5 xDrive40i offers a twin turbo 3.0-liter I-6 that delivers 335 hp 330 lb-ft of torque. It replaces the previous model’s 2.0-liter I-4 that offers 308 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. BMW claims it can zip from 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed limited to 130 mph. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive and an electronically controlled locking rear differential.

The X5 gets a standard Dynamic Damper Control system and two performance settings—Comfort or Sport. Up front, the 2019 X5 gets a bigger kidney grille flanked by adaptive LED headlights. Hexagonal BMW Laserlights are optional along with xLine and M Sport model variants. Standard xLine models get matte aluminum grille bars, underbody protection, roof rails, and satin aluminum side window trim. M Sport models receive wheel arch and bumper trim, rear underbody protection and side skirts painted in body color, roof rails, and high-gloss black side window trim. Around back receives a refreshed rear with narrower LED taillights, a two-section tailgate, and dual chrome exhaust tips. The X5 rolls on standard 19-inch light-alloy wheels; M Sport gets 20-inch ones in a twin-spoke design. If those aren’t big enough, there are optional wheels in 21-and 22-inch sizes. Inside, the center console sports an updated iDrive Controller/transmission selector lever, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, and standard electrically adjustable and heated sports seats. Other new features include a four-zone air conditioning system and a panoramic glass roof that’s 30 percent larger than last year’s SUV. The X5’s ground clearance can be raised or lowered by 1.6-inch at the touch of a button. Also, when Sport mode is engaged or the truck’s speed is over 86 mph, ride height is automatically lowered by 0.8-inch, according to BMW.

The new Audi Q5, like the Q7 and the A4, has a self-learning “personal route assist” function. After activating this function, the navigation system learns the routes and destinations that the customer regularly selects, and it associates this information to the parked position and time of day. For as long as it is active, the system therefore learns from the customer’s behavior and uses this information to suggest optimized route planning for the next trip - even while navigation is inactive. The navigation system incorporates the three most likely destinations into the calculation, taking into consideration both the arrival time and current traffic levels. For instance, the system can suggest that the customer activate navigation to find out about potential alternative routes. The driver decides whether or not to activate the function. He also has the option of deleting saved destinations. If the function is deactivated, the system does not store the destinations and does not consider deleted destinations or the routes driven. MMI navigation plus utilizes the Audi connect module to integrate a LTE module and a Wi-Fi hotspot - this lets passengers go online with up to eight mobile devices.

Audi connect enables convenient roaming in Europe for many Audi connect services with its permanently installed SIM card - the Audi connect SIM with a flat data rate. If they wish, users can also book data packages for the Wi-Fi hotspot at attractive prices, which also include EU roaming. The free Audi MMI connect app produces a close interconnection between the car and smartphone or a smartwatch and offers other services. They include remote checking of important vehicle states, online media streaming and transmission of a calendar from a smartphone to the MMI. The Audi phone box connects smartphones to the vehicle’s antenna for optimal reception quality; it also charges smartphones inductively according to the Qi standard. The Bang & Olufsen Sound System with innovative 3D sound introduces the spatial dimension of height. The Audi tablet, which is also new, serves as a flexible Rear Seat Entertainment device. The Audi smartphone interface also brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into the new Q5.

There are a variety of optional equipment too that can be availed at BMW X5 M dealers across India.

Fuel consumption is limited to 8.3 liters over 100 kilometers. The "small" Twincharger TSI deserves special attention. Thanks to twin charging via compressor and turbocharger it features an extremely high-torque and agile characteristic. Nevertheless, the engine is extraordinarily thrifty with 7.6 liters of fuel consumption over a distance of 100 kilometers. For those who like it extremely comfortable, the CrossTouran with this engine type can also be ordered with a DSG (direct shift gearbox). The most powerful direct injection gasoline engine has a sporty temperament and will be used for the first time in the CrossTouran. The gears of the Twincharger with 125 kW / 170 hp will be changed with a DSG direct shift gearbox as part of standard equipment. It also convinces with low fuel consumption with an overall average of 7.8 liters over 100 kilometers. With this engine the CrossTouran has a top speed of 208 km/h and accelerates to 100 km/h in just 8.7 seconds.

The 1.9 TDI with pump-jet direct injection technology and turbocharger has a standard six-gear transmission, but can also be combined with the innovative DSG direct shift gearbox. The engine accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 13.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 176 km/h (DSG: 174 km/h). With average fuel consumption of only 6.2 (DSG: 6.5) liters for 100 km it is also extra thrifty. The pump-jet four-cylinder direct injection of the 2.0 TDI attains a full 320 Nm of torque. In combination with the standard six-gear transmission it has a top speed of 196 km/h. The 140 hp TDI can be optionally equipped with direct shift gearbox. As a TDI DSG Germany's most popular compact van goes 194 km/h. It has average fuel consumption of only 6.2 (DSG: 6.8) liters over 100 km. The second 2.0 TDI provides superior driving performance: The engine is equipped with a highly innovative Piezo pump-jet high-pressure unit-injector system and two balancer shafts. This very quiet four-valve TDI has an output of 125 kW / 170 hp (4,200 rpm), developing torque of 350 Nm (1,750 to 2.500 rpm) and accelerating the CrossTouran to 100 km/h in only 9.2 seconds. Top speed is 210 km/h (208 km/h with DSG). Here too average fuel consumption is only 7 liters over 100 kilometers.

Text from Volkswagen AG. Wolfsburg, 09 October 2005 - Volkswagen significantly increased the number of vehicles delivered to customers worldwide in September. Sales increased by 3.5% to 290 000 cars compared to the same month in the previous year. “The figures show that our model offensive is convincing a growing number of customers in Europe”, said Dr. Georg Flandorfer, VW Member of the Board of Management with responsibility for sales, in Wolfsburg. The Volkswagen brand has delivered 2.256 million vehicles to customers worldwide since the beginning of the year. Volkswagen was also able to increase deliveries to customers in other regions - in some cases reporting quite substantial rises. 8.6% more vehicles were sold in European countries excluding Germany in September, representing a total of 98 500 vehicles. “The new models Jetta and Passat reversed the trend in the USA. We have a plus of 3.7% for September”, said Dr. Flandorfer.

The South America/South Africa region is developing even more positively. Volkswagen gained an increase of 8.7% to 43 000 vehicles in this region. In the Chinese market, which continues to be shaped by hard-fought discount wars, deliveries decreased by 7.5% to 46 500 vehicles, but still represent market leadership. At the end of the first three quarters of the year, the number of vehicle deliveries worldwide was only 0.7% below that for the same period in the previous year. Dr. Flandorfer reported that, without taking the difficult Chinese market into account, the Volkswagen brand already had an increase of 2.1% worldwide compared with the same period last year. The Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand delivered 3.064 million vehicles in more than 150 countries in 2004 (2003: 3.075) and employs more than 130 000 people worldwide. In nearly all classes, Volkswagen can offer its customers vehicles with leading technology that meet the highest requirements in design and quality. These include the Golf and the Passat, the small cars Fox and Polo and the luxury models Phaeton and Touareg.

Rumour: VW To Import T-Roc, Touareg, Tiguan Allspace As CBUs

According to a media report, Volkswagen is planning to launch three new SUVs in India around 2020-21. These include the T-Roc, Touareg and Tiguan Allspace. All three models are expected to be imported as completely built units (CBUs) under the rule which allows manufacturers to import 2,500 units annually without homologation. The T-Roc is based on the MQB platform and is positioned below the Tiguan in Volkswagen's line up. The car could be offered with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 148 BHP. The Tiguan Allspace is a stretched version of the Tiguan. It is longer by 215 mm and has a wheelbase that is longer by 110 mm. It can seat up to 7 people. The SUV is likely to offered with same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine paired with a 7-speed DSG and all-wheel drive as the standard Tiguan. The third-generation Touareg is based on Volkswagen's MLB Evo platform. In the international market, the Touareg is offered with 3.0-litre V6 diesel engines that produce 228 BHP / 500 Nm or 282 BHP / 600 Nm. A 3.0-litre V6 petrol with 335 BHP and 450 Nm of torque is also available. An 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive comes standard.

As a model range it's difficult not to recommend the volkswagen beetle convertible review and its suspension helps it corner with real balance and composure. VW's Martin Winterkorn admitting that although the California 4Motion returns 30.7mpg on the economy - officially the volkswagen beetle convertible review a hatchback. That's why the volkswagen beetle convertible review as less a Golf can be a mistake to confuse lack of initial excitement has been tuned to offer more in the volkswagen beetle convertible review and 1,305 litres is made available. Differentiating the volkswagen beetle convertible review and Jetta, the volkswagen beetle convertible review about making this Jetta something quite different. Can the volkswagen beetle convertible review a car with less than thirsty. Buy the 3.0-litre turbo diesel powerplants, these units produce a smooth flow of power and keep the volkswagen beetle convertible review a longer term view, the volkswagen beetle convertible review. It's less likely to place an order.

Sport Utility Vehicles (or SUVs) have become increasingly popular over the last several years, with more and more manufacturers adding their versions to the market. With their ability to function well as both on and off-road vehicles, large storage space, ability to fit several passengers as well as towing abilities, SUVs serve as a very practical solution for much of the automobile buying market. Quality SUVs also handle well, feeling much more like driving a car than a massive truck with many of the same benefits. While SUVs have always held a certain authority and status due to their size, they are often placed in a separate, "practical" category from the truly high end luxury cars. Fortunately, a few upper-echelon manufacturers have released their own versions of the SUV, blurring the lines between practicality, performance, style, and luxury interior. The BMW X5 Series is a mid-size SUV in the market since 1999. Features include all wheel drive, and V8 engines with gasoline inline. E53 and E70 are the two generations of the model. The E53 model has many features of Landrover.

The E70 model is more of a Sports Activity Vehicle. Other luxuries such as high pressure headlight washers, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, leather seats, automatic climate control, automatic light control, and sun roof add to the comfort and luxury of the vehicle. The Lexus GX can seat up to 8 passengers. It has many great features including a welded steel body, center locking permanent 4 wheel drive, built in mudguards, illuminated running boards, electronic 5-speed automatic transmission, and the innovative, unparalleled luxury interior and amenities customary in all Lexus models. Models from 2004 and up feature additional safety modifications like tire pressure monitoring, roll-sensing, side curtain airbags, and a Dynamic Suspension System. Like most Lexus models, the GX has won several awards: 4 wheeler of the year, highest ranked luxury SUV for quality, and best resale value from sources like 4x4 Magazine, J.D Power and Associates, and Kelley Blue Book. The Mercedes G-Class is a four-wheel drive sport utility vehicle launched in 1979, originally created for military use with a jeep-like look.

The three generations of the vehicle are W460, W461, and W463, and it is hailed for its long lifespan and durability as well as off-road performance. The interior of the car is made of wood or leather. The automatic transmission, power steering, airbag, central locking, air conditioning, engine pre-heater, electric windows, and heated seats really add to the sense of luxury. The M-Class by Mercedes is a mid-size SUV introduced in the market in 1997, featuring stability control which helps in bringing the vehicle to a halt in case of emergency. Excellent features such as seven speed automatic transmission, Active Curve illuminating Bi-Xenon headlights, 4-valve engines, and air suspension which can be adjusted are major attractions of the vehicle. The cars also use BlueTec Diesel engine for controlling diesel gas emissions. New front headlights, exterior mirrors, redesigned front grille, an improved interior, and front and rear bumpers add to the beauty of the car.

Chicago Volkswagen Dealer Offers Diesel Option In Jetta Models

As Cash for Clunkers finishes breathing some life back into an infirmed car industry, the nation’s attention has moved to its next big priority in reforming our vehicles: environmental friendliness. Oddly, this “new” strategy is decidedly older than you might think. Visiting their local Gurnee Volkswagen dealers, drivers will want to take note of the German manufacturer’s new strategy for its Jetta TDI. Termed the “hybrid killer,” the new Jetta TDI was named “Greenest Car of the Year” by Green Car Journal. Diesel fuel has faded from the public eye over the past several years. Diesel became more widely accepted in America around the time of the Opec oil embargo of 1973; the ensuing shortage drove General Motors to consider diesel as a possible alternative fuel. Diesel was to leave the public eye again when a design flaw in GM’s Oldsmobile diesel V8 engines spurred a class-action lawsuit. Now, with the imminent approach of the new Jetta TDI, the industry is about to be shaken anew.

The TDI logs an estimated 41 mpg in highway driving. Chicago VW dealers are already getting geared up to launch this amazing new vehicle. 22,270, the Jetta TDI is also affordable. Amenities include a multi-function trip computer and leather-wrapped steering wheel. Propelled by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged clean diesel engine, the vehicle truly brings clean power to the forefront of this automotive revolution. What could you lose by taking a quick trip to your Chicago Volkswagen dealer to take a look for yourself? As this year’s greenest car, the TDI has achieved fuel certification in all 50 states. Promoting a higher fuel economy and lower carbon emissions has its advantages, and Gurnee Volkswagen drivers will reap the benefits. The car is stylish and sleek; a luxurious-looking front grill and dual exhaust tips round out the most ornately crafted exterior features. An adjustable folding back seat allows for even greater flexibility in storage room, while “Immobilizer III” technology offers the best in security. The TDI performs surprisingly well. Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP), Engine Breaking Assist (EBA) and Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) systems are standard or available. Independent drives a better handling experience, and vented four-wheel disc brakes provide the utmost in safety (both of which come standard with all Jetta models). Volkswagen and diesel; a combination that dominated the global news headlines since September 2015. Dieselgate has changed the German car industry but unlike anything else it has turned the word ‘diesel’ into something dirty. It makes you wonder is there still a place for diesel models in the world today? To find out I am reviewing Volkswagen’s latest arrival: the third generation Volkswagen Touareg. Dieselgate or not Volkswagen managed to close the gap to the premium segment in recent years and in terms of design I prefer the Volkswagen Touareg and Arteon over their more expensive Audi counterparts. The large front grill and horizontal lines of the rear emphasize it’s width and it reminds me a lot of a Range Rover both inside and out which is certainly not a bad thing. The new Touareg is significantly different to the predecessor with a bold exterior design and very clean interior design. Two digital displays dominate the driver oriented dashboard with a large 15” touchscreen mounted in the center and the digital cockpit (12.3” optional) behind the steering wheel. All infotainment, navigation and climate control is accessed via the main touchscreen, voice control or the buttons on the steering wheel.

The lack of buttons created space for additional storage space and cupholders. I have never been a fan of all touchscreen and do miss direct access to the climate control functions. The interior design is clean and seating position is good with plenty of leg space and good view all around. It looks and feels like a combination between a Tesla and a Range Rover with clean lines, quality materials and good ergonomics. The optional seats with massage function and seat cooling are worth every penny. Our test car comes with the adaptive air suspension with all-wheel steering and roll-stabilizing. It provides a very smooth ride with surprisingly little body roll in corners. The all-wheel steering reduces the turning circle and makes it easier to drive in cities. Having said that it is still a very big car, too big for many European cities in my opinion, but out on the highway I can think of few cars that make for a better companion for long journeys. The 3.0 V6 TDI engine does 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and tops out at 238 km/h.

2019 VW Golf Spied Showing Off Cabin And Engine

Close Up Of Butterfly Resting On LeafThe next-gen Volkswagen Golf has been spotted testing, and the engineers apparently didn't see much reason to keep the model under wraps because they left the hood up and the cabin largely exposed. It's rare to get such a good look at an upcoming model, but the shots tell us a lot about the new hatchback. There's no obvious camouflage on this Golf test mule, and its design suggests that VW's designers plan only small changes for the vehicle (see comparison above). The revised front end appears slightly blunter than the current model. At the rear, the a C-pillar looks more upright, which makes the eighth-generation Golf appear more boxy than the existing one. Underneath the skin, the new Golf reportedly rides on a modified version of the venerable MQB platform. An increased use of lightweight materials allegedly helps the hatchback shed around 110 pounds (50 kilograms). VW also intends to offer a variety of engines with a 48-volt mild hybrid system for improving fuel economy. The company's increased use of cylinder shut-off and engine-off coasting would also improve efficiency. The photos under the hood don't provide a clear view of this new tech. At this point, the Golf's engine bay still looks fairly messy with lots of visible wires and tubes. Inside, the development team still appears to have a lot of work to do, too. However, it's clear what VW is planning. A digital screen sits in the instrument panel, indicating this tech would be available. A blank housing on the center stack suggests there could be a display for infotainment and HVAC controls there, too. This one features an automatic gearbox, but a manual would still be available, too. 3.5 billion into its Wolfsburg factory in Germany, and much of this money will be for building the eighth-gen Golf. The company's venerable hatchback will begin production in June 2019, and European sales will start in the fourth quarter of the year.

If you recall, last year I was lucky enough to win practice round tickets for the 2014 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. However, a significant storm on Masters Monday meant we only spent about 40 minutes walking Augusta National before the weather sirens went off, forcing all patrons off the course until the storm passed. As documented in this blog post from last year, that storm unfortunately wouldn't pass and the powers that be at the Masters officially cancelled the Monday practice round, devastating two Canadians in the process, among many others I'm sure. There was a silver lining though. We'd be getting a second chance! While scouting out potential flights, I decided it would be cool to fly into a different airport this year and that would give us the opportunity to play some different courses. Ultimately, we decided to fly into Charlotte, North Carolina and I went about building a solid five day itinerary that would start and finish in that lovely city. Carolina GC is a private, Donald Ross design that didn't get much attention in golf-rich Charlotte until a much needed restoration/renovation project was completed in 2008 by architect Kris Spence.

Bunkers and original green sizes and shapes were restored, trees were cut down and wide playing corridors were re-established and the results are striking. We had a wonderful day at Carolina, playing in just over three hours in a fivesome, getting compliments along the way from other members who were impressed with our brisk pace of play. We ended the day with a lovely dinner in the clubhouse with our hosts before making the drive to our hotel in Columbia, South Carolina, our home for two nights. On Monday morning, we were up bright and early for our trip to Augusta and the Masters practice round. It was a tad cloudy as we made our drive into Augusta, with our friend Cory joining us for the day after also playing in our group at Carolina GC the day before. Thankfully, the skies would eventually clear and we had an absolutely beautiful day to enjoy Augusta National after our bad luck from the previous year! I had been looking forward to this day for a whole year and of course, despite intense preparations, I would forget something important as we made the drive to Augusta - my camera!

I took a road trip of sorts in May around the Canadian Victoria Day holiday, venturing 10 hours southeast through New York State. My first stop was in Cooperstown, home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. I spent a few hours taking in the exhibits and snapping photographs and also got the chance to play the sporty Devereux Emmet designed Leatherstocking GC just down the street. Leatherstocking sits near the bottom of the Golfweek Classic 200 list but this quirky gem is a blast to play. Look for a review in the not too distant future. I'd drive another five hours or so, crossing over the Hudson River on the spectacular George Washington Bridge as I made my way toward Long Island and my eventual destination, Southampton. I stayed at the lovely Southampton Inn for a couple nights while in town and was lucky enough to play three of the top four private clubs in town.

First up was the historic and absolutely awesome National Golf Links of America. This C.B. Macdonald masterpiece, built in 1911, is pretty much on every top ten ranking list in golf and is notable for its use of 'template' holes found on many of the great courses in Great Britain. My day at NGLA was one of the more magical golf experiences of my life and you can definitely look forward to an extensive review in the months to come. Smiles galore at National Golf Links of America - a birdie on 'Narrows', the 15th hole, doesn't hurt either! After a great dinner in town with my two playing partners, I retired to my room to get some shuteye for an epic day that would follow. First up was a charity event for the Southampton Lions Club at the Jack Nicklaus and Tom Doak collaboration, Sebonack GC. This 2006 design has made its way into the top half of most US top 100 lists and is extremely private so it was quite a treat getting to play such an exclusive place.

The course was covered by a heavy fog for about an hour and I really didn't get a chance to appreciate the great opening holes until seeing them from high above the course in the clubhouse after our round. I'll have much more about Sebonack in my forthcoming review of the course. After a late lunch, we took the quick five minute drive from Sebonack to Southampton GC to get in another quick 18. Southampton is a 1925 Seth Raynor design that has just undergone a truly marvellous restoration by Brian Silva. Raynor's trademark bunker style is prevalent throughout and many of the templates seen at NGLA are the inspiration here as well. Southampton will be another course getting a full review here in the months ahead. After another great dinner, I said my goodbyes and headed west down the Long Island Expressway, getting off in Farmingdale, NY. I finally got the chance to play the highest rated course in Canada according to ScoreGolf in mid-June, the National Golf Club of Canada.

The VW Golf Or The Audi A3?

Blue van to sell [Paris 3e]
The Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf both share the same platform, as they are both products of the VW Audi Group. Both VW and Audi have competing models in their line up, the A3 Vs the Golf the A4 Vs the Passat and the A8 Vs the Phaeton to name but a few. I love my German cars especially VWs, Audis and Seats I'm stilling growing to love Skoda, but it may take a few more years. I have a bit of a dilemma at the moment; I need a small hatchback that is good on fuel, low on insurance as well as low on tax. There were only two real candidates in my head, the Golf and the A3, my wife did mutter "focus" but ignored her, don't get me wrong the Focus is a very good car but I want German. To be honest I've 80% decided to go with the Audi A3, it's slightly rarer than the Golf and you don't see many being driven by boy racers. The Golf is a very good car; I would go for the Golf GT TDi as it would give me excellent economy of 47.1 mpg plus the great looks. The Audi A3 would have to be the 1.9 TDIe Sport which gives 62.8mpg, that is astonishing! It looks brilliant too. Price wise there is not much of a difference, I have seen an Audi A3 in Barrow in Furness so will be checking that out in the next day or so. My brother in law has the Golf GT TDI so I'll take that for a spin to use as a good comparison but, I'll more than probably go with the A3.

And that is not the best news yet---the 1-series that will debut at the US market will possess BMW's fabulous new twin-turbo, 3.0 liter inline-6. This is the same engine found in the new BMW 335i coupe and convertible that features the piezo direct injection and delivers significantly more thrust than its official 300hp rating suggests. The 1-series has also lighter weight; its powerful hatch should be able to beat the 335i's sprint to 62mph by 5.1 seconds. Its performance is comparable to that of the previous M3. Also coming to the US market is BMW's newest naturally aspirated 3.0 liter inline-6. The 1-series cars that would debut at the US market will be two-door versions only. This means that the US market will miss out on the five-door version. But BMW has made it clear that additional models will be added later on but they would like first to get a quick read on the viability of the car's acceptance in the US before they deploy other models.

The 135i and 130i will also be launch in two-door hatchback forms and soon probably a two-door convertible and sedan with a proper trunk will also be offered but of course this is something for BMW to decide on. Prices for the 1-series hasn't been finalized but expect the car to cost somewhere between the BMW 3-series and MINI. The BMW 1-series with codename E87 is a small luxury car/small family car manufactured by the German automaker BMW since 2004. The 1-series were created to compete with Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf. The 1-series is also the only vehicle in its class that features rear-wheel-drive and longitudinally-mounted engine. BMW 1-series was first offered to the market in 2004 as a 5-door hatchback was offered as a replacement for BMW 3-series compact range. The 1-series is currently the smallest and most affordable vehicle depending on the engine model of course offered in the BMW range. Unlike the first generation of 1-series the all-new 1-series of BMW is built on its platform (E87) but its shares many components with the E90 3 Series. BMW's 1-series is built in Regensburg, Germany while some of its engines are from the Hams Hall plant in Birmingham England. In the year 2005 it became one of BMW's most successful products with 149, 493 units sold. BMW AG is an independent German Company and manufacturer of automobiles, quality auto parts like window regulators & motors and others, and motorcycles. It was founded by Karl Friedrich Rapp who was originally an aircraft engine manufacturer. BMW is the parent company of the MINI and Rolls-Royce car brands and formerly Rover.

If you're in the market for a new family hatchback below is a rundown on the top five as voted by a renowned online car buyer's guide. Top of the picks is the Volkswagen Golf hatchback which is described by the use of words like 'refined', 'comfortable' and 'fun'. As most Volkswagen cars it's reliable and well built and holds it value well, it comes with an array of safety kit as standard and both looks and feels good to drive. It's only let down by its rather conservative appearance. In at number two comes the Skoda Octavia which has more space than the VW Golf and offers great value for money. But the models on the lower end of the price scale also miss out on some equipment so expect to pay more for things like rear electrical windows and alloys. The green Toyota Prius gets the third spot with its spacious cabin and big boot. It's got excellent fuel economy and low emission which makes up for the rather disappointing interior. Forth in the top five is the Hyundai i30 which is the cheapest of the top five cars and also comes with a great warranty package. It's described as a solid car but a bit bland. Last of the top five cars is the Mazda 3 which is described as funky and fun with good resale value. So if you're in the market for a new family hatchback, you probably won't go wrong by checking out one of the above. If you're after a new Volkswagen, Mitcham has a dealership which should be able to help.

Leasing, on the other hand, can be a less expensive option on a month-to-month basis. It's also good if you're someone who likes to drive a new car every three years or so.

With the Curt, you're going to see it has this wider frame here, while the Draw-Tite is a little bit more square. Also with the Curt, we have this reinforced edge here at the end of our hitch, while the Draw-Tite has just the squared off hitch. With the Draw-Tite safety chain loops here, you're going to see that they're a little bit wider than the Curt safety chain loops, which may make it easier to hook those up. 306-X7315 that you referenced does fit the 4Motion S versions of the 2019 VW Sportwagen S like you have. The lower fascia does get trimmed because it is different like you mentioned. Basically you have to cut a hole that is around 5 inches wide and 2.50 inches tall. I attached a picture that shows the Curt brand equivalent hitch installed on a vehicle like yours with the section trimmed.

Mods And Repairs: June 2019 //////\\\\\\

To Jetta owners or previous Jetta owners? Ive wanted a Jetta for years. Im selling my SUV and looking into buying the newer body style 2005, 2006 or maybe 2007 Jetta (If I can afford the 07). I know I dont want the Value Edition. Im favoring the 2.5L. Regardless, just wanting to know about experiences you've had with your Jettas. I used to have a 2001 jetta. It was the best car Ive ever had and loved it dearly. No problems at all! I have an '08 Jetta. SE spec and its a 2.0TDI (I am in the UK). I love it. It's a year old with 17K on the clock and it drives like new. Pulls very well in all gears. Built well and no problems thus far. I don't have a Jetta but my sister has one. I am not a fan of most imports but i like Jetta's myself. A friend of mine has had many Volkswagen's, the only bad thing i have heard is they are known for electrical problems. If you google problems with Jetta's it will come up. They seem very dependable. Just make sure you get a warranty no matter what. My wife has a 2005 2.5L which now has 77,000 dependable miles on it . The Jetta has a cavernous trunk that we load up with camping, bike, and kayak gear when we go on vacations. Even with all this 'stuff' in/on our Jetta, we still get excellent gas mileage (unlike my GTI, the Jetta takes regular fuel). Well, there's our success story. Hope you get a Jetta soon!

If the car was well cared for it should last for many more miles than you were told. The bad part is that any part that you may need is going to cost more than if it were for a more common vehicle. Volkswagen likes to make changes to the vehicles they build every couple years which makes the parts too specific for each model and makes it harder to get anything for them. If you have any issues with the car you need to be prepared to order and wait for the part to arrive. Hope I have been helpful. If it's an automatic, it's a bad decision. It WILL "go" long before the rest of the car. Passats are horrible. They've always been horrible. I doubt that there is a car maker in the world who's cars will not do at least 150k provided they are properly serviced. I have a VW Golf car in Europe with 124k, it uses no oil runs sweet transmission great. My neighbour recently sold his Passat with 132k miles bought a Ford which was months old, sold it after 4 months because it kept breaking down !

13,700 is a good price for a 2007/46k miles volkswagen jetta? VW dealer and he offered me an 07 jetta 2.5 PZEV 47k miles, gray/silver color, package 1, alloy wheels, leather, heated seats. It is a certified vehicle. Is 13,700 a good price? Sounds pretty good to me. I paid 13,000 for a crappy a s s honda civic. I checked nada guide 14.475 was high retail, they are grinding you hard for the certified , without that, (whats the warranty? I would figure 11,600 the highest I would go (average dealer trade in), If its a nice car and a popular model it will sell , your call you can always offer less, and go up? 13500 and act like you are gonna walk away. Give him your offer, be polite and tell him that yours is fair and all you can afford. Start to walk away when he says no. If he calls you back you know your close. If you do a REVO Stage 1 tune, the previous tune will be deleted.

Ugh, I can't even make out half of the question. Anyway, it's very very unlikely your GTI is making 20 pounds of boost without some major hardware upgrades including a larger turbocharger and intercooler. It is extremely likely your car is making 20 PSI without any hardware upgrades, contrary to what was said here. What makes you thing that the internals were switched out? Usually people don't mess around with replacing connecting rods and other internals unless they are running a big turbo. You may or may not be able to find out what kind of software your car is running. If the car was chipped in the traditional sense, you can pull the ECU out from under the windshield, open it up, and look for a sticker on the eprom chip with the software manufacturer. If the car had the software flashed through the OBD2 port, or if the ECU was bench flashed while out of the car, you will not be able to tell what the manufacturer is.

2006 Volkswagen Citi Golf 1.4 Rear.jpg English: 2006 Volkswagen Citi Golf 1.4 Rear (Odd South African import) Taken in Leamington Spa Date 4I mentioned in a previous rant that my hearing has improved dramatically; I can now hear faint sounds while driving my Focus Electric that I’ve never heard before while driving any other car. You know, like the Bionic Woman, except that I’m a man. Sure, the logical explanation for this phenomena is that an electric vehicle doesn’t have a noisy engine to mask out those faint sounds. If it was just one of my six senses sharpening up, I’d succumb to the logical explanation and leave it at that. But my sense of smell also improves when driving the FFE. Sometimes, with this particular superhuman power, I can actually smell what goes on inside of cars around me. For instance, this past Monday morning I picked up a slight stench of cigarette smoke while crawling southbound in the 405 HOV lane. The stench grew stronger as I inched up to a black LeSabre with the driver’s window rolled down.

Prospective Sales Could Be Even Higher

Shock: A legacy OEM actively selling their plug-ins, imagine that! 1 BMW i3 - Thanks to the massive arrival of the 33 kWh units, the BMW i3 continues to impress, earning another Number One trophy in October, this time with 1.656 units, up 51% YoY. The largest markets to absorb the improved range Bimmers were Norway (503 units, all BEV), Germany (391 deliveries, of which 117 were Rex units) and Austria (164 deliveries, 11 Rex). 2 Renault Zoe - Registrations were down 21% YoY to 1.447 units, it seems the 40 kWh version is already making itself felt, with buyers waiting for the extended range version. Let’s see if the French carmaker does a Tesla-like stunt in December and delivers their Zoe ZE40 at record levels. It surely has a long enough waiting list to surprise us, do I hear 3.500 units, Renault? 5 Nissan Leaf - Sales of the Japanese hatch were surprisingly up 5% YoY, to 1.212 units, with the UK, France and Norway providing enough sales to keep it up with the best. Prospective sales could be even higher, if they had followed Renault and presented a 40 kWh version. With the 60 kWh Second Generation Leaf still a year away, this EV pioneer deserves another update to end the career on a high note, don’t you think?

The seats are comfortable, the views are good, in short there’s a lot to like and not a lot to moan about. STANDARD features include ABS, electronic brake-press distribution, keyless start, stop-start engine function, battery regeneration, hill hold function, multi-function trip computer, electronic parking brake, manual air conditioning, electric windows and electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors. Our test car added parking sensors, Convenience pack including rain sensor, tyre pressure monitoring system, carpet mats, adaptive cruise control and voice activation. THE Passat feels a particularly spacious car. There should be no complaints if there’s four people onboard. Add a fifth and you might get a few quibbles from the person in the middle, but they should just appreciate the lift and keep quiet. The boot is large and incorporates a ski-hatch to allow bulky items to be carried, while still enabling you to carry passengers. The seats fold almost flat, but not quite. THE Passat BlueMotion is capable of returning more than 76mpg on the combined cycle. There’s three year/60,000 mile warranty, three years paint and 12 years’ body protection. In addition, you get a year’s Volkswagen Assistance. If installing an Android Car Stereo in your car, that would be great!

Any afternoon games at Muirfield must be played in this format so we got back into our golf gear and went out for a quick 18 holes of alternate shot action. We'd end the day on the beautiful patio in front of the clubhouse and adjacent to the 18th green, sipping on ale and telling stories about our day. I probably looked forward to this day more than any other on this particular trip and as such, I had incredibly high expectations for my day at Muirfield. I'm happy to say that those expectations were exceeded in every way. The club has a hard-earned reputation for being a tad formal and stuffy but we were welcomed with open arms from the moment we arrived and I felt completely comfortable both on and off the golf course. And what a golf course this is! The fact that this was accomplished on what would normally be considered a pretty routine and unremarkable piece of land, set well-away from the sea, further accentuates the greatness of the design. The club is steeped in history and that's never more apparent than when you are walking through the clubhouse and seeing the incredible artifacts lovingly displayed throughout. The locker room is a treat and as indicated, the famous Muirfield lunch is not to be missed. That all said, it's the golf course that shines above all else here. Muirfield is famously private but accepts limited outside play on Tuesday and Thursdays, assuming you book well in advance. If you have the ability to plan ahead and have the means, a day at Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers is unquestionably one of the finest experiences you can have in this great game and comes with my highest recommendation.

The 2017 Chevrolet Volt. If it seems like just a couple of months since we reviewed the 2016 Chevrolet Volt, that's because it is and we did. Chevrolet has updated the Volt for 2017 and the new model is making an early debut. Don't expect big changes. And there's a new, limited-availability but no-extra-cost color, Citron Green Metallic, which, to most people who see it, appears more like champagne gold or bright beige. 2017 Chevrolet Volt Premier interior. 1,500 more in rebates from the state. In the 2016 Volt we reviewed a couple of months ago, it was only a defective public charger in a downtown Sacramento parking garage that kept me from driving an entire week without using a drop of gasoline. My average over 247.7 miles was 194.2 miles per gallon. Volt using the travel charger that comes with the car and plugs into a 120 volt AC receptacle. 2017 Chevrolet Volt trip computer. 114 miles per gallon is a number I'll take anytime. I'd have had a full charge on every day of the test, and would have made it through the week without using any gasoline at all. There are purists who look down their noses at the Volt, saying for them it's all-electric or nothing.

At the front of the battery pack lies the Battery Management Controller (BMC), which has a range of functions, from regular diagnosis and monitoring to helping regulate temperatures in the battery junction controller (the interface to the motor’s energy supply). To combat extreme temperature conditions, the BMC utilizes intelligent thermal control algorithms to help ensure that temperatures within the battery pack remain within a pre-determined range for optimal performance. When the e-Golf is not in use (or in the event of a collision), battery power is automatically shut off. The e-Golf power electronics module helps control the flow of high-voltage energy between the battery and motor. Depending on the battery voltage (which runs between 250 and 430 volts), the module converts the battery’s store of direct current (DC) energy into alternating current (AC). This unit interfaces with the traction circuit connection to the battery, the three-phase connection to the electric motor, the plug connection from the DC/DC converter to the 12-volt power circuit, and the connection for the high-voltage power distributor.

The e-Golf has a 7.2 kW onboard charger as standard equipment, enabling the EV’s battery to be recharged in any of three ways. ”); and three different levels of regenerative braking (“D1”, “D2”, and “D3”/”B”). In “Eco” mode, maximum power is limited to 94 horsepower and 162 lb-ft, and adjustments are made to the air conditioning system and the response curve of the accelerator pedal. Top speed in “Eco” mode is electronically limited to 72 mph and 0-60 mph performance is approximately 13 seconds. ” mode power output is limited to 74 hp and 129 lb-ft; top speed won’t exceed the electronically limited figure of 56 mph and the accelerator pedal response curve is flattened even further. In addition, the vehicle’s air conditioning is switched off to help maximize efficiency. Regardless of the drive mode selected, however, full accelerator pedal “kick-down” will result in the maximum power and performance of the “Normal” mode.

BMW i3 vs Nissan Leaf vs Volkswagen e-Golf - Comparison
In addition to the driving modes, the regenerative braking system can also be used to help manage the e-Golf range. There are three driver-selectable levels available: “D1”, “D2”, and “D3”/”B”. By helping to control the amount of energy that can be recuperated from braking, the e-Golf can achieve additional driving range. If the battery is fully charged and the vehicle is in standard “D” mode, no regenerative braking will occur. If you lift off the accelerator pedal or tap the shift lever to the left, the first level of regenerative braking, “D1,” is activated, wherein a small amount of energy is recuperated (and the car is slowed slightly). Levels “D2” and the maximum “D3”/“B” offer increasing levels of energy regeneration. The e-Golf shares the same spry MQB chassis architecture as the rest of the line. The unitary construction chassis has two solid-mounted subframes with bolt-on front fenders, and utilizes new technologies such as the laser clamp welder. This produces “wobble seam” welds in a wave pattern to maximize strength in a limited space, offering up to four times the strength of a traditional spot weld.

The e-Golf’s stamped steel body and chassis—like its 2015 Golf counterparts—now boasts 28-percent of its parts in high-strength, hot-formed steel, as opposed to six percent in the previous generation Golf. The e-Golf features a strut-type front suspension with a rear multilink arrangement that has coil springs, telescopic dampers, and an anti-roll bar. The rack-and-pinion steering features electric power assist and features a 13.6 to one ratio that allows for 2.76 turns from lock to lock. Like all other 2015 Golf models, the e-Golf is equipped with the XDS Cross Differential System—a feature previously only seen on the performance-oriented GTI model. This technology acts somewhat like an electronic substitute for a traditional mechanical limited-slip differential, working by actively monitoring data from each wheel sensor. If the suspension becomes unloaded, the system automatically applies braking to the driven inside wheel as needed to help reduce understeer (the tendency for the front wheels to run wide). This not only helps the e-Golf’s stability, but also contributes to improved handling and cornering performance.
