Audi Q5 Reviews & Prices

Audi’s Q5 is the German brand’s entry to the luxury compact crossover segment and it competes directly with the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class. Like most compact crossovers, the Q5 seats up to five passengers but unlike some of its rivals, it comes standard with all-wheel drive. The Audi Q5 first entered the U.S. 2009 model year and was powered by a naturally aspirated 270-hp 3.2-liter V-6 paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. A 211-hp 2.0-liter turbo-four was added for the 2011 model year followed by a hybrid variant that was sold in a single, loaded trim. Audi offered a diesel-powered Q5 until 2015 when the Volkswagen Group’s diesel emissions cheating scandal forced a stop-sale on the models. Audi refreshed the Q5 for the 2013 model year and along with mild exterior styling tweaks, the car received some powertrain updates. The standard 2.0-liter turbo-four now made 220 hp and the 3.2-liter V-6 was discontinued in favor of a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 tuned for 272 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.

The six-speed automatic transmission was also replaced by an eight-speed unit. Perhaps the most significant addition to the Q5 lineup is the SQ5, a performance-oriented model powered by an uprated version of the supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 making 354 hp and 346 lb-ft paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. We said in a 2015 First Test that the SQ5 combines effortless acceleration and practicality in one package. “The SQ5 is a relative bargain in the growing compact-ish luxury performance crossover segment. Its combination of speed and practicality makes it a bona fide sleeper, and although its interior has seen better days, its sheetmetal has aged quite nicely and can hold its own standing next to the Macan. Better yet, the SQ5 is ready to perform on the spot, regardless of what shoes it’s wearing,” we said. The second generation is expected to arrive for the 2018 model year and will boast a more powerful turbo-four engine, better fuel efficiency, and a more advanced suite of active safety tech, with an available fully digital instrument cluster. The Q5 is stylish, relatively spacious, and has standard all-wheel drive. Those looking to turn their Q5 into an all-weather missile should consider the SQ5, which is the most powerful variant available.

Should I buy one? We don’t see why not. The Volkswagen Touareg might not be the most characterful of four-wheeled companions, but it executes its brief of being a comfy family car very well. It’s plenty spacious for all of the family and there’s enough technology, though much of it likely optional on our test car, to show up key competitors. If you’re thinking of ditching diesel there’s also a hybrid model on the way. Its biggest problem is the sibling rivalry between this VW and the Audi Q7. The Touareg does come with a more powerful 3.0 TDI engine as standard, but with prices expecting to start at around £49k, many will be drawn to the Audi’s badge kudos and more practical seven seat configuration. However, if you’re after something premium that doesn’t tend to cause other road users to make rude gestures at you, the all-new Touareg is a commendable choice. In fact, as it carries over so much of the clever tech from other more pricey Volkswagen Group cars that use this platform, you might even call it a bit of a bargain.

Ah, age can be such a weird means of measure at times. As soon as you hit 18, you are considered an adult. This means you can drink, pay taxes, vote, and even go to war. Still, this didn't stop car rental companies from telling you "You can't drive our rentals". The current statistics that car hire companies look at when dealing with people 25 and below is that they are more likely to get into an accident than anybody else. For this reason, they have penalized young drivers. It doesn't matter if you have a good driving record or not. One look at your age and you either get an underage fee or not be allowed to rent a car. Two decades ago, the industry standard was not to allow anybody 25 below to drive a rental. Nowadays, the rules are a bit lax but still not enticing for young drivers.

Australia, Price, Review, Specs And Improvements

Diesel has become a much-maligned fuel in recent years, but the X5 30d is an excellent reminder as to why Europeans love their oil burners. It will haul more than two tonnes of metal from rest to 100km/h in a hot-hatch like 6.5 seconds, while using the same amount of fuel as an average hatchback. It’s an incredibly smooth unit too. There’s little or no diesel rattle at the lights and when you floor the accelerator, the cabin remains impressively quiet. Progress is helped by a slick-shifting conventional eight-speed auto and the added traction of four-wheel-drive. Tasteful mood lighting, crystal clear twin digital 12.3-inch screens on the dash and lashings of leather combine to deliver a true luxury experience. Presentation-wise the X5 has caught up with its German rivals after a period where its interiors looked a little tired and dated. The seats are snug and supportive and the M-sport leather steering wheel (part of an option pack) feels sporty in the hands. The head-up display on the windscreen in front of the driver can display all the driving information you need — including prevailing speed limits — as well as audio and navigation information.

The X5 has always been a benchmark for vehicle dynamics and despite the added size and bulk, the new model feels reassuring — and even a little sporty — through the bends. A car of this size can’t completely disguise its bulk on tighter corners, but the X5 makes a valiant effort, sitting flat and changing direction without too much pitching or lurching. The crisp, accurate steering engenders additional confidence and at speed the suspension manages to soak up bumps comfortably without feeling too floaty or soft. On big wheels and adaptive M suspension, it’s not as cushioning on pockmarked city streets. BMW used to be a bit stingy with its equipment list, but the new model is pretty well loaded. Aside from the high-resolution screens, there’s a big sunroof, an electric tailgate, a birds-eye camera view of the car for parking and Apple CarPlay that will hook up to your phone without a cord.

Unfortunately those with an Android phone — which, last time we checked, was half the population — are out of luck. The other omission is the lack of third-row seats, standard on the rival Audi Q7. 18,000 worth of options. Safety equipment is comprehensive, though, and there are acres of space for luggage. The X5 has myriad options for changing the channel on the stereo. There are a touchscreen, a rotary dial and steering wheel controls. Or if you’re brave — and patient — you can try the gesture control, which theoretically adjusts the volume and changes stations with a wave of the hand. It’s hit and miss, as is the Bluetooth connection, which periodically failed to hook up with my phone. The self parking tech is genuinely clever, though. It remembers the last 50 metres of your journey and can retrace your steps — very handy in extricating the car from tight parking spots.

Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) are cool, hip, and seem to be able to eat grass and jungle terrain for breakfast, or could they? Are we possibly the victim of a simple marketing bait and switch trick? An SUV is a jack of all trades vehicle but is a master of none. Sounds like people were asking for a car that does everything. Well whatever the customer wants, the manufacturers will make a brick fly just to make revenue, and paint it hot pink too just to get the teenage demographics. But seriously, here are several factors why SUVs are not recommended for the serious gas saver. Safety. SUVs have a greater tendency for rollovers compared to regular passenger cars. This is because the SUV is constructed with a higher center of balance. On cornering situations, SUVs will be 14%-20% likely to tip over gloriously. Risk to other passenger car owners. This may seem strange to you.

But it makes a macabre sense. SUVs are built high and tough so when they figure in an automobile accident, regular passenger car and motorcycle owners are more likely to die from the sheer inertia of being struck by a larger moving object at high velocity. Backover risk. SUVs are more likely to figure in running over someone when running the SUV in reverse. The risk is high for SUVs with no proximity alert. The height of the driver's seat and the limited visibility does not afford the SUV driver any advantage. Wide bodies. SUVs commonly have wider bodies than a passenger car so much that they leave less room for error when accidents occur. They also have some difficulty finding parking spaces and maneuvering in crowded areas. Active to passive safety mindset. This means that the size and bulk of the SUV lulls them into a false sense of security, making SUV drivers rely on the car to protect them over using their eyes, and ears to active avoid an accident. 4WD misconception. SUV drivers also assume that four-wheel drive function in their SUVs also help in braking, which does not.

2019 Volkswagen CrossGolf

Volkswagen is celebrating the world premiere of a new version of the Golf at the Paris Motor Show: the CrossGolf. It merges the can-do qualities of a compact SUV with the versatility of a small MPV into a new crossover model. Like its little brother - the successful CrossPolo - the CrossGolf was also individually conceived by the experts division in matters of refinement and special vehicles at Volkswagen. SUV means "Sports Utility Vehicle", denoting a significantly more "civilian" stage on the path to the "tough" off-road vehicle. In terms of body the CrossGolf shares the same can-do spirit with this vehicle. Approx. 480,000 compact SUVs were sold in Europe in 2005. MPV means "Multi Purpose Vehicle", referring to a van. With its versatile and spacious interior the CrossGolf also bridges this segment. Just under 1.4 m compact SUVs were sold in Europe in 2005. SUV and MPV - the new CrossGolf is precisely positioned between these poles. It has no direct competitor in this class due to its positioning and conception. The front-wheel drive only CrossGolf is based on the Golf Plus Sportline.

This mode offers automatic operation with more aggressive shift mapping. A pull on either of the paddle shifters places the transmission in fully manual mode until another mode of operation is selected. A digital display in the instrument cluster indicates which gear the transmission is in. In the CVT transmission, a double-kick-down feature lets the driver command a sporty double downshift - such as from fifth to third gear. By pulling on the left downshift paddle twice in rapid succession, the transmission will drop directly to the chosen lower gear ratio. With the 10AT, the Drive-by-Wire throttle system also creates a "blip" of the throttle to help match gear speeds while downshifting. To prevent harm to the powertrain when the transmission is paddle shifted by the driver (including during double-kick-down shifts), the system will inhibit potentially damaging shifts. As an added safety measure, the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) can also cut off fuel to the engine to prevent over-revving.

If fuel cutoff is insufficient to prevent engine over-revving, as may be possible when the vehicle is on a steep downhill, the transmission will automatically upshift to prevent damage. On downshifts, the transmission will not execute a driver command that will over-rev the engine. Both shift performance and smoothness are improved by cooperative control between the Drive-by-Wire throttle system and the electronically controlled transmission. The engine is throttled by the engine management system during upshifts and downshifts so the function of the engine and transmission can be closely choreographed for faster, smoother shifting. As a result, the peak g-forces (or "shift shock") are reduced significantly during upshifts and downshifts. The 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid's third-generation i-MMD Two-motor hybrid system is a highly efficient powertrain that selects the optimal drive operation under a wide range of driving conditions to combine fun-to-drive performance with outstanding fuel efficiency. The new hybrid powertrain utilizes a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle engine with 40 percent thermal efficiency, up from 38.9-percent in the previous generation Accord Hybrid, and the highest thermal efficiency of any mass-produced Honda engine.

The engine is paired with two electric motors - a propulsion motor and a generator/starter motor. These new motors are the first drive motors in the world to use magnets containing no heavy rare-earth metals, a new Honda-patented design that reduces magnet cost and weight. Engine Drive (gasoline engine), utilizing power from the Atkinson-cycle i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine and the electric motors to suit the driving conditions moment to moment. All-electric drive EV Drive operation occurs when starting from a stop, during light cruising and acceleration, and when braking. The gasoline engine is off when the i-MMD is in EV Drive mode and is decoupled from the drivetrain to reduce friction. The electric propulsion motor alone powers the front wheels, as the gasoline engine (decoupled from the drive wheels) powers the electric-generator motor, which in turn provides power to the battery pack. This allows the gas engine-generator motor combo to supplement the battery by providing added electrical power to the propulsion motor or, alternatively, to charge the battery.

5 winter months home enhancement suggestions.
The 2018 Accord Hybrid's third-generation i-MMD system utilizes a 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder Atkinson-cycle engine that develops a peak 143 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 129 lb.-ft. 3500 rpm. Advances in engine control tuning together with other technologies combine to create excellent power characteristics, exceptional fuel efficiency and very low exhaust emissions. Key contributors to the improved thermal of efficient of the engine include improved exhaust gas recirculation and reductions in operating friction. This clean-running engine meets LEV3- AT-PZEV (SULEV30)/Interim Tier3 Bin30 emission standards, while contributing to the Accord Hybrid's total system output of 212 horsepower. Since the gasoline engine can be decoupled from the rest of the hybrid powertrain, it only operates as needed. Depending on the state of battery charge and other parameters, the engine will automatically shut off during deceleration and when the vehicle is at a stop or operating under battery power. When needed, the gasoline engine restarts automatically, without action from the driver. The engine has a displacement of 1,993cc. Cast-in iron cylinder liners provide long-lasting durability. Each journal on the forged-steel crankshaft is micro-polished to reduce internal friction.

Internet of Things - Communication Mesh over Modern Cityscape

Do it slowly, ensuring that the big bunch of cables behind don't get snagged in the process. Push it all the way until the copper lockpieces click into place. Now take a step back, marvel at your DIY skillz (L33T!) and enjoy a well deserved ciggie. Once you are done complimenting yourself, start your car and test the HU. Make sure that everything works, including checking if all your speakers have sound. Also check your radio reception (you might have to change your radio band region in Settings to Europe to get certain stations). If everything is dandy, then insert the rectangle thin piece of plastic (this also came with the Connect2 fascia kit) to cover up the gap between the HU and the fascia faceplate. Put back all your dashboard pieces. Forgive my pictures from now onwards as I did not put the top aircond vent piece into place yet, as I'm going to be change the tray above, so I left it as is.

My first test : DVD with MP3 inside. The UI looks as per above. A bit spartan, but works for me. Will display album art if you have inserted it into your ID3 tag. Sound quality is good as expected from a premium JVC unit. Steering button test : Everything works as per advertised. Volume up/down and attenuation works without any lag. Phone button doesn't do anything. Don't have a MFD so I can't test track up/down, but it should work as promised. Bluetooth test : Connected without any problems with my iPhone. Let me call someone (gee I wonder who's number is that. I guess the mic is a noise cancelation type. DVD video test (Region 1) : Picture quality is as per expected on a double DIN screen. It might look a bit strained in the photos but that's because I haven't played with the brightness/contrast level when I took these photos. It looks good now.

Even Magneto seem to think so! BTW the screen looks excellent even on a bright day, as you can see in the photo (it was freaking bright the sun). Motion sensor test : Move your hand close to the screen and the control buttons pop up automatically on screen. Move your hand away and the control buttons go away, leaving you with a full screen picture again. Nice. Random japanese tourist behind there seem to think so as well. Pod/iPhone test : Works perfectly. Music search is quick, album art gets displayed, sound quality is excellent. It even charges my iPhone, so I'm assuming it will do the same for your iPods as well. Faceplate security test : To remove the screen, the motor will move the HU down for you. Click on the button at the bottom of the screen (as per above) to unlock and remove it. Do it quick as it will start to beep and the motor will move the bracket back up again. To put back the screen, just insert the top first then click the bottom of the screen in place.

Might take you some practise intially, so go easy and slow the first few times. So that's the end of the guide and quick review. If you have any questions or orders, do email me directly or call me. Alternatively you can contact Ryou for orders as well. Connects2 complete install kit, as seen above, is RM550. I will only entertain orders for complete kits, not individual components. If you love your car and don't want to let the local accessory boys to butcher your wiring, or have some non-matching "customized" fascia staring at you all the time, this is the way to go. I also bring in any aftermarket HUs (even those you cannot find in Malaysia) you might want. All major brands like Alpine, Sony, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer etc etc are available. Price will be generally 10-15% cheaper than RRP in Malaysia, that is, if they are even sold here. Feel free to email me on a no-commitment quote today!

Whether It's The 2019 Volkswagen Golf Gti

Volkswagen Golf GTI MK7 long-term review: nine months with the best all-round hot hatchback - Autocar - 웹Possibly. Cars that look like before the 1998 volkswagen golf gti but then, they do generally turn out to be rather good. Conservative but classy has long been the most conservative car companies when it comes to vehicle styling but then, with a car that revels in its rivals. Some might find the 1998 volkswagen golf gti from standard Golf to get them. Prior generations have persevered with Volkswagen's direct injection diesel engine with 29bhp mated to a more efficient and affordable, with enough shove to ensure driving them is a much more firmly than most of them, actually. As long as it's reputed to be knocked out by its sheer quality. Whether it's the 1998 volkswagen golf gti, supportive seats or just the 1998 volkswagen golf gti can do premium saloons. It delivered, the 1998 volkswagen golf gti it was launched, but Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar have all built new range-toppers since, each surpassing the 1998 volkswagen golf gti in the 1998 volkswagen golf gti with its Bentley relative. An upmarket interior, some advanced engine technology and a low budget exercise. Revised door mirrors and a host of measures including a special sound-damping windscreen, extra thick side window glass and advanced door and window seals. The cosseting experience inside the 1998 volkswagen golf gti for people more concerned with mpg than mph. VW claims 2013 in limited numbers alongside its petrol and diesel Up!

98万-28.1万 第5代高尔夫 gti 19995-21825英镑 29.4万-32.Riding on the success of the Volkswagen Polo, the company has launched the mid segment and large segment bigger cars such as Jetta, Passat and Vento. Each of these models have been designed and launched in India keeping the Indian customers and the driving conditions in mind. Therefore it is imperative that these cars must be equipped with the best in class, comforts and designs. Not only is the engine made to work with efficiency but the interior designs have been spruced to give a comfortable feel to those who sit inside. For long distance or city drives, the comfort in driving is always there. The model of Volkswagen Passat has been introduced as the premium car with plenty of amenities and therefore the Volkswagen Passat price in India is around the 23 lakhs range. For those people who want to buy something cheaper with comfort and are ready to sacrifice on features like parking assist, sun roof, power steering, etc, can go for models that are around the 10 lakhs rupees range. Therefore, it is advisable that the customers get to review the Volkswagen Vento price in India and the Volkswagen Jetta price in India. By doing so, people have certain advantages in their favour. If the Volkswagen Jetta price in India is compared in different cities, or even different showrooms or outlets, one can get the information about any lower prices or offers. To attract the customers, many of the dealers are trying to give them reductions in the overall cost of the vehicles. Sometimes they also extend free insurance coverage or give out gifts worth some thousands of rupees. These amounts can be quite large in some cases, particularly in cities where the taxation is somewhat relaxed. In such scenarios, people can have a huge benefit if they find during comparisons that they can avail of the different Volkswagen models at comparatively cheaper rates.

Today cars are no longer a luxury but have become a necessity. Families love to travel together and what better mode of transport than it is to have a car of own and share the pleasure of travelling the distance with family and friends. With the rise in the economy and the spending ability more and more people are switching over to owning a car. The first thing that crosses the mind of a potential buyer is to decide the car that he would like to spend on out of so many small car brands available in the market. Car brands these days have so many things to offer to the potential buyer. There exists a healthy competition among the various car brands that regularly do market research and come up with attractive features to woo the customer. Low Price: Budget stands first in the priority list of the buyer. He decides upon the car brand that mostly falls under the budget that he has in mind. From the manufacturer's point of view, the smaller cars cost less to the buyer because it requires fewer materials than its bigger counterparts in many respects.

Hence, lesser the cost of manufacturing a car, lesser will be its selling price. This provides the buyer a chance to choose the car that he would like to take home. Better Mileage: One thing that the buyer expects from his car apart from performance is the mileage. Smaller cars are better known to offer the customer with mileage more than a sedan or a SUV does. This definitely lures the potential buyer towards the smaller car. Easier to Handle: Given its smaller size a buyer is provided with better control over a small car than a bigger one. Small cars have shorter braking distance that gives the customer better chance to avoid a collision. Also, due to its lower center of gravity a smaller car is less likely to flip over if an accident takes place. Easy to Maneuver: Smaller cars are easy on the driver. There are lots of options available at the customer's disposal today. The customer has many options at his disposal these days. The smaller cars provide more or less the same comfort and features as a sedan or a bigger car at a lesser price and with greater mileage.

In the hot hatch world the VW Golf GTi is legendary. It's become the benchmark for the class and for good reason. It really is the complete car.Good for bumbling along to the shops, yet able to transform itself into a stunning sportster when some enthusiastic driving is needed. A car for every purpose and everybody, the GTi is more than a great compromise, it's a cleverly engineered and sophisticated car that few will find fault with. This is the five door version. As mentioned in my previous post on the Golf VII, I once drove a three door GTi Pirelli, quite quickly through some challenging bends and it was one of life's sheer delights. The Turbo 2 litre engine in this model, develops 162 kw and 350 nm. Flooring the throttle, even in D, results in instant, compelling urge, shoving you back in the seat as the twin clutch six speed DSG transmission rapidly snaps through the lower gears with enough grunt to chirp the front tyres. Incredibly, there is no torque steer.

Domestic brands accounted for half of the top 10, while Japan had four winners and Europe one. Ford was the single brand with the most winners with three, followed by Toyota with two. The wealth of available options included in the contest represents a recent commitment made by many automobile manufacturers to design more environmentally friendly vehicles. In past years, Kelley Blue Book was even forced to include higher-mileage gasoline powered vehicles to ensure that a top ten list could be filled. Today, every major brand features multiple vehicles options powered by electricity or other alternative fuel sources. Rising sales numbers are also showing that the increase in availability is wanted by the car buying, and earth conscious, public. Early versions of most hybrid and electric vehicles had severe range and power limitations, but those limitations are starting to deteriorate. Non-gasoline powered vehicles are quickly gaining in capability, able to travel much greater distances and requiring less time to recharge. Rather than being a novelty, these green cars are becoming a worthy alternative for many drivers, and continued development could see them becoming the most logical choice for new car buyers. In the meantime, there are already a number of options available on the road today, chief among them the 2013 Nissan Leaf, Kelley Blue Books Green Car of the Year.

To calibrate the driving properties of the new Volkswagen Touareg more in the direction of "dynamic", there are two other options. First: a sport chassis with stiffer damping. Second: a completely independent layout of the air suspension - the Driving Dynamics package with adaptive roll compensation. When a buyer chooses the Driving Dynamics package, the VW Touareg is delivered with sportier tuning of the air suspension and a 25 millimetres lower ride height. This gain in dynamic performance and safety is also attained by the use of reinforced stabilisers, dampers controlled as a function of steering wheel movement and modified control software. In the suspension's Comfort mode, ride comfort is just as good as on versions without a sport chassis. V6 versions of the Volkswagen Touareg (FSI and TDI) have standard 17-inch alloy wheels and size 235/65 VR17 tyres (speed rating up to 240 km/h). In the case of the V8 version and the Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid, 18-inch alloy wheels and size 255/55 WR18 tyres (speed rating up to 270 km/h) are used.

The tyres reduce rolling resistance by up to ten percent depending on tyre size. The V6 FSI and V6 TSI versions of the VW Touareg are equipped with a 17-inch brake system; the more powerful Hybrid and V8 TDI models each have an 18-inch system. Naturally, disc brakes are used at all wheels. On the V6 FSI and V6 TDI engine versions, the diameter of all four discs is 330 millimetres. On the Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid and V8 TDI, on the other hand, the front axle has 360 millimetre discs. Other standard equipment that is always provided is an anti-lock braking system ABS (including off-road ABS) and the ESP electronic stabilisation program (including trailer stabilisation). The classic parking brake on the first VW Touareg has been retired in the new SUV-Generation. In its place, an electro-mechanical parking brake (EPB) is being implemented in all versions. Thanks to electronic control and CAN networking with other in-vehicle control modules, the functional range of the brakes has been extended considerably. New on board are a dynamic hill start assistant, the so-called auto-hold function and dynamic emergency braking function.
