The VW Touareg is available with a 3.0 litre V6 TDI engine for its 150TDI, V6 TDI and V6 TDI 4XMOTION variants. However, we went one step further and road tested the top of the range V8 TDI R-Line Touareg. This is the SUV for car loving enthusiasts. With a whopping maximum torque of 800Nm. Yes 800! Motorheads will be in heaven when they sit behind this wheel of the powerful and dynamic V8 Touareg. With both Comfort and Driver Assistance Packages as standard, there is so much to like about this monster of an SUV. Let's dissect this top of the range SUV. After initiating the key-less entry and push start button, we sat behind the wheel at the VW pick up point, overawed as the loud V8 engine purred in anticipation. We knew we would be in for an awesome week behind the wheel of this bad boy! And by golly, it didn't disappoint. As soon as we left the garage, the smile that crept onto my face was unstoppable. This car was quick. So much so, that we instantly crept above the speed limit without even realising it (So easy to do in a car like this).

It reaches 0-100km/h in just 5.8 seconds. Paired with an 8-Speed Automatic Transmission with Tiptronic Function and Sports Mode (Our preference 90% of the time). The 8-speed automatic transmission is clean, responsive and highly energetic. Utilising the paddleshifters has never been more fun! Environmental, Wind and Tyre noise are minimal and are easily drowned out by the loud engine growl. The V8 TDI glides over a variety of terrain (on and off-road) as both smooth and rough surfaces are traversed in comfort. Handling is paramount to the overall enjoyment of this vehicle and it glides across the tarmac. Inner city, the V8 TDI is highly capable, yet somewhat impractical. Is there a need to drive a V8 engine in traffic? Probably not. Should you use a car like this to pick up some milk from the local shop? The local Greens representative would probably say "No". Car enthusiasts that appreciate the importance of driving enjoyment will disagree (Myself included).

VW Touareg Vs Porsche Cayenne: How Do They Compare?

Both the Volkswagen Touareg and Porsche Cayenne were initially developed in a joint partnership. As such, they share similar architectures and engine options. Yet, in the past few years, the divide between the two has grown wider. The VW Touareg, for example, is more spacious with added shoulder and rear legroom. It’s equipped with better standard technology, like the Driver Assistance package. But price may be the biggest different. Want to learn more about the 2017 VW Touareg? Visit VW of South Charlotte or schedule a test drive online. Both the Touareg and Cayenne share the same base model engine, although both have different tunes. Beyond engine though, Touareg bests Cayenne in a number of categories. For starters, the Touareg comes standard with a wide array of technologies; many of these same technologies are costly add-ons on the Cayenne. Plus, in terms of design and aesthetics, the Touareg is the clear winner.

Spaciousness: The Touareg utilizes a more traditional SUV layout, and as a result, it offers more cargo and passenger space. The Cayenne, on the other hand, has sacrificed spaciousness for a more rounded roofline and sloping backend. Comparing cargo volume, the Touareg offers 32 cubic square feet with the rear seats up vs. 24 cubic feet in the Cayenne. Plus, the Touareg roofline doesn’t taper like the Cayenne’s, resulting in added head and shoulder room. Exterior Profile: Both vehicles share similar architecture, including close height and wheelbase specifications. Yet, they differ widely in design. The Touareg features classic sculpted SUV lines, while the Cayenne features a bubbled roofline. In effect, the Touareg has the look and feel of an SUV, while the Cayenne resembles a tall hatchback. Plus, the Touareg receives a number of standard exterior features that are upgrades on the Cayenne, including stainless steel roof rails and side sills. Standard Technology: Regarding standard technology, the Volkswagen Touareg is the absolute winner - it’s not even close.

The base model Touareg Sport with Technology includes an infotainment/navigation system with an 8-inch screen, 3D turn-by-turn directions, and 60GB harddrive. Additional features like ParkPilot, an autonomous parking assistant, HomeLink universal garage door opener, and SiriusXM radio, traffic and weather are all standard. The majority of these features are optional in the Cayenne. Comfort Technology: The VW Touareg has been designed to maximize passenger comfort. And VW has made a variety of convenience technologies standard including heated front seats, rear privacy glass, a heated steering wheel and a hands-free liftgate. The Cayenne does feature a power liftgate, but all other comfort specs are optional. Safety Technology: Again, VW is the clear winner in terms of standard technology. The base model is equipped with a Driver Assistance Package, which adds features like Adaptive Cruise Control, blind spot monitoring, semi-autonomous lane-change, forward collision warning with automatic braking. Comparable systems are optional features on the Cayenne. Performance: Both vehicles are closely matched in terms of performance. The base models all feature a 3.6L V6, all-wheel-drive and an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. Plus, both have a max towing capacity of 7,716 pounds (although the Touareg receives a standard trailer hitch). The big difference here is in how they’re tuned. The Cayenne receives a slight boost in horsepower, while the Touareg has been optimized for quietness and stability. Volkswagen introduced the Touareg to compete with additional mid-sized luxury SUVs. And the Touareg offers clear benefits over the competition, including much better standard technology and equipment.

But then there are those occasional moments when, frankly, I don’t understand at all. This is one of them. I’m writing this with the sound of the Lamborghini’s V10 still ringing in my ears. Now I know this is the kind of thing that writer types say without great thought, but I’m not one of them. Right now, I have a residual tinnitus that was not there before I drove the car. And I don’t mind it at all, because it’s keeping the experience of that motor alive just a little longer before it starts to convert to mere memory. And, yes, I’ve heard plenty of loud engines before, plenty that sound beautiful and far more melodic than this. But I’ve not heard many more interesting. There is something about the V10 that is different. I won’t bore you with the science but any engine with a cylinder count that’s a multiple of five is inherently unbalanced. In tech terms, it’s subject to first and second-order vibrations so shouldn’t really work, and indeed wouldn’t really work without careful application of counter-balance measures.

Australia, Price, Review, Specs And Improvements

Diesel has become a much-maligned fuel in recent years, but the X5 30d is an excellent reminder as to why Europeans love their oil burners. It will haul more than two tonnes of metal from rest to 100km/h in a hot-hatch like 6.5 seconds, while using the same amount of fuel as an average hatchback. It’s an incredibly smooth unit too. There’s little or no diesel rattle at the lights and when you floor the accelerator, the cabin remains impressively quiet. Progress is helped by a slick-shifting conventional eight-speed auto and the added traction of four-wheel-drive. Tasteful mood lighting, crystal clear twin digital 12.3-inch screens on the dash and lashings of leather combine to deliver a true luxury experience. Presentation-wise the X5 has caught up with its German rivals after a period where its interiors looked a little tired and dated. The seats are snug and supportive and the M-sport leather steering wheel (part of an option pack) feels sporty in the hands. The head-up display on the windscreen in front of the driver can display all the driving information you need — including prevailing speed limits — as well as audio and navigation information.

The X5 has always been a benchmark for vehicle dynamics and despite the added size and bulk, the new model feels reassuring — and even a little sporty — through the bends. A car of this size can’t completely disguise its bulk on tighter corners, but the X5 makes a valiant effort, sitting flat and changing direction without too much pitching or lurching. The crisp, accurate steering engenders additional confidence and at speed the suspension manages to soak up bumps comfortably without feeling too floaty or soft. On big wheels and adaptive M suspension, it’s not as cushioning on pockmarked city streets. BMW used to be a bit stingy with its equipment list, but the new model is pretty well loaded. Aside from the high-resolution screens, there’s a big sunroof, an electric tailgate, a birds-eye camera view of the car for parking and Apple CarPlay that will hook up to your phone without a cord.

Unfortunately those with an Android phone — which, last time we checked, was half the population — are out of luck. The other omission is the lack of third-row seats, standard on the rival Audi Q7. 18,000 worth of options. Safety equipment is comprehensive, though, and there are acres of space for luggage. The X5 has myriad options for changing the channel on the stereo. There are a touchscreen, a rotary dial and steering wheel controls. Or if you’re brave — and patient — you can try the gesture control, which theoretically adjusts the volume and changes stations with a wave of the hand. It’s hit and miss, as is the Bluetooth connection, which periodically failed to hook up with my phone. The self parking tech is genuinely clever, though. It remembers the last 50 metres of your journey and can retrace your steps — very handy in extricating the car from tight parking spots.

Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) are cool, hip, and seem to be able to eat grass and jungle terrain for breakfast, or could they? Are we possibly the victim of a simple marketing bait and switch trick? An SUV is a jack of all trades vehicle but is a master of none. Sounds like people were asking for a car that does everything. Well whatever the customer wants, the manufacturers will make a brick fly just to make revenue, and paint it hot pink too just to get the teenage demographics. But seriously, here are several factors why SUVs are not recommended for the serious gas saver. Safety. SUVs have a greater tendency for rollovers compared to regular passenger cars. This is because the SUV is constructed with a higher center of balance. On cornering situations, SUVs will be 14%-20% likely to tip over gloriously. Risk to other passenger car owners. This may seem strange to you.

But it makes a macabre sense. SUVs are built high and tough so when they figure in an automobile accident, regular passenger car and motorcycle owners are more likely to die from the sheer inertia of being struck by a larger moving object at high velocity. Backover risk. SUVs are more likely to figure in running over someone when running the SUV in reverse. The risk is high for SUVs with no proximity alert. The height of the driver's seat and the limited visibility does not afford the SUV driver any advantage. Wide bodies. SUVs commonly have wider bodies than a passenger car so much that they leave less room for error when accidents occur. They also have some difficulty finding parking spaces and maneuvering in crowded areas. Active to passive safety mindset. This means that the size and bulk of the SUV lulls them into a false sense of security, making SUV drivers rely on the car to protect them over using their eyes, and ears to active avoid an accident. 4WD misconception. SUV drivers also assume that four-wheel drive function in their SUVs also help in braking, which does not.

Chicago Volkswagen Dealer Offers Diesel Option In Jetta Models

As Cash for Clunkers finishes breathing some life back into an infirmed car industry, the nation’s attention has moved to its next big priority in reforming our vehicles: environmental friendliness. Oddly, this “new” strategy is decidedly older than you might think. Visiting their local Gurnee Volkswagen dealers, drivers will want to take note of the German manufacturer’s new strategy for its Jetta TDI. Termed the “hybrid killer,” the new Jetta TDI was named “Greenest Car of the Year” by Green Car Journal. Diesel fuel has faded from the public eye over the past several years. Diesel became more widely accepted in America around the time of the Opec oil embargo of 1973; the ensuing shortage drove General Motors to consider diesel as a possible alternative fuel. Diesel was to leave the public eye again when a design flaw in GM’s Oldsmobile diesel V8 engines spurred a class-action lawsuit. Now, with the imminent approach of the new Jetta TDI, the industry is about to be shaken anew.

The TDI logs an estimated 41 mpg in highway driving. Chicago VW dealers are already getting geared up to launch this amazing new vehicle. 22,270, the Jetta TDI is also affordable. Amenities include a multi-function trip computer and leather-wrapped steering wheel. Propelled by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged clean diesel engine, the vehicle truly brings clean power to the forefront of this automotive revolution. What could you lose by taking a quick trip to your Chicago Volkswagen dealer to take a look for yourself? As this year’s greenest car, the TDI has achieved fuel certification in all 50 states. Promoting a higher fuel economy and lower carbon emissions has its advantages, and Gurnee Volkswagen drivers will reap the benefits. The car is stylish and sleek; a luxurious-looking front grill and dual exhaust tips round out the most ornately crafted exterior features. An adjustable folding back seat allows for even greater flexibility in storage room, while “Immobilizer III” technology offers the best in security. The TDI performs surprisingly well. Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP), Engine Breaking Assist (EBA) and Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) systems are standard or available. Independent drives a better handling experience, and vented four-wheel disc brakes provide the utmost in safety (both of which come standard with all Jetta models). In truth, the TDI really has a little bit of everything and a lot of fuel economy.

Mazda City Concept Car Turns Heads

The Kiyora, a concept car from Mazda, may head into production sometime in the near future. This small vehicle is designed to be a fuel-efficient option for city driving. When it comes to city cars, tiny seems to be the new norm, and Mazda recently unveiled a city-car concept, the Kiyora, which is about as tiny as they come. The vehicle, which some have speculated will be sent into production as the Mazda 1, debuted in the 2008 Paris auto show. If it goes into production, it will be in the same market as the Toyota iQ and the Volkswagen Up! Each of these vehicles is known for its excellent gas mileage and small size. The market for these vehicles is becoming quite an intense competition. People in crowded metropolitan areas need a simple way to cruise around town that is fuel-efficient. In order to try to stand out from the crowd in this competitive market, Mazda has given the Kiyora modern, almost wild, siding compared to the competition.

Volkswagen Touareg hybrid -- 2011 DC.jpg Volkswagen Touareg hybrid photographed at the 2011 Washington (D.C.) Auto Show. Date 29 January 2011Some of these style features include tear-shaped windows that double as butterfly doors, giving access to the interior of the car with no visible door seam. This is just one of the many interesting design features of the Kiyora. Of course, the concept car is just that, a concept, and some of these trendier designs will likely fall by the wayside if the car goes into production sometime this year. The compact Kiyora was designed in Europe and features a direct-injection, four-cylinder engine. What makes it so economical for fuel efficiency is its stop-start system. When you are idling, the engine will automatically turn itself off, and then it will start again when you begin to drive. This is a common feature in European vehicles, but it is still fairly rare in North America. The name Kiyora means clean and pure in Japanese, and is a tribute to the desire Mazda has to make more and more fuel-efficient vehicles.

While small, the Kiyora has a very modern, streamlined design that may appeal to younger buyers more than the boxy look of Smart Car alternatives. As a concept car, it also has a wide range of almost whimsical design features in the interior, including a steering wheel to rival any superheros getaway car. If the concept becomes a reality, it may not have quite as many of these unique features, but the interior will still be modernized to help it appeal to younger, gas-conscious drivers. Will this concept car ever hit the market in North America? At this point, it does not look promising. It appears that the little car is designed more for the European and Japanese markets. But, if North American interest in gas-efficient vehicles continues to rise, and the manufacturer continues to focus on gas-powered vehicles rather than electric vehicles, some of the designs of the Kiyora may make their way to American soil. Only time, and future potential sales of whatever vehicle comes out of this design, will tell. If you do want to get your hands on this pint-sized vehicle, you probably will be able to by simply crossing the ocean to buy it in Asian or European markets.

Air flowing through the front grille to cool the engine usually accounts for up to eight per cent of total vehicle air drag. To reduce this effect, a shutter in the lower front grille automatically closes to prevent air entering and causing turbulence. For cold starts, an additional advantage is a faster engine warm-up, which also helps reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Whenever the engine needs air for cooling, the shutter opens automatically. These changes help the new Insignia ecoFLEX (120/140PS) achieve class-leading CO2 emissions of 99g/km and 76.3mpg on the combined cycle. Or put another way, an ecoFLEX driver could travel from London to Budapest on one tank of fuel! Source: Department of Transport’s UK Travel Survey 2012 and based on a combined 76.3mpg for an ecoFLEX model fitted with 2.0 CDTi 99g/km engine. The new Insignia range’s powertrain line-up has been broadened still further with the addition of an all-new petrol engine and new derivatives of the existing 2.0 CDTi unit.

Across the New Insignia range, there have been improvements including dampers, roll-bars and steering, which result in improved noise and vibration behaviour and even higher levels of comfort. Completely new suspension control arms and carrier housings were built into the axle architecture to improve driving comfort. Electronic Power Steering (EPS) is standard in all but the VXR models and has been reprogrammed for improved feel. Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) levels have also been reduced for enhanced occupant comfort. Vauxhall’s FlexRide adaptive damping chassis system, with its real-time driving style recognition, is also used in the new Insignia. This innovative chassis networks all driving dynamics systems and features electronic damper adjustment, as well as speed-dependent power steering. The driver can choose between three driving modes: Standard for driving comfort, Tour for an even softer, more comfortable drive, and Sport for a more direct, sporty driving experience. The New Insignia range comprises eight trim levels starting with Design, and going up to Elite. There are also two trims - Energy and Limited Edition - which package generous equipment levels popular with retail buyers.

I was able to show them the part I needed. You are such a blessing to me for posting this. Thanks so much for this post. It was exactly what was wrong with my Chevy Aveo. Thanks for a great post. I had to replace one on my daughter Aveo. The plunger on the switch may have to be pulled out a liitle to make it long enough it seems to be adjustable and kind of clicks when you pull it out or push it in. Well I truly enjoyed reading it. This article provided by you is very constructive for proper planning. Thank you sooo much it took me all of 5 minutes to do! This is one of the BEST posts I've ever found online! The first time my brake switch broke @ 20,000 miles, I had to bring the car to the dealership. When it broke again @ 60,000 miles, I decided to see if it was something I could do myself. 6 on Amazon and used your VERY helpful instructions to get the job done easily and super quick!

We were on a road trip and days away from any mechanics that I know and your post just saved me a lot of money. 15 at O-Reily auto parts and we were back on the road in about 30 minutes. Thank you so much for your instructions they were very easy to follow and more importantly they were correct! I know you posted this years ago but it really saved me today! Thanks for the perfect instructions! My brake lights would not work and neither did my gear shift! I looked it up and it said that if the brake switch is out you can't get your car out of gear. Never connected the two. You have saved me a lot of money. Part was only 8.00! Thank you so much! Maybe I'm not twisting it hard enough, but I just cant seem to get it out. Maybe I'm just afraid of braking something.

Or do I need to disconnect some wires or something first? Thanks so much for the instructions! Definitely felt like a contortionist but it was all worth it when I was victorious at fixing the car! Not something a larger individual could do without removing the seat because it was definitely a tight squeeze to get the right angle to be able to see where the part lines up. Thanks very much for your instructions. I just replaced the brake sensor on my girlfriend's '08 Aveo. The part is available on Amazon for anyone who needs it. Got it the next day! I was worried that my 2005 Chevy Aveo's lack of ALL brake lights was a wiring problem. A smog shop was the first to let me know about the issue, but offered no solutions. I asked a shop to look at it when they were replacing the catalytic converter - no help there either. The suggestion was to take it to a dealer.

France December 2019

27, a somewhat disappointing performance by the three-pointed star model, ending the year in Third in its class, behind the Passat GTE and Volvo V60 Plug-In. Inability of the local importer to get more units from Mercedes? Best Selling BEV & Small Car: Renault Zoe, 10.566 units. Best Selling PHEV & Rookie Of The Year: Volkswagen Golf GTE, 1.687 units. The german model doubled sales regarding the last year Best Seller, (Outlander PHEV, 820 sales) but ended the year losing steam, is the internal competition (Passat GTE) already cannibalizing its sales? Best Selling SUV: Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, 907 units. Looking at the BEV / PHEV share, PHEV's tripled share, growing from 6% in 2014, to the current 18%, thanks in most part to the Golf GTE / A3 e-Tron cousins, that combined gathered 10% of the market. 2 will be close and with several competitors, the veteran Kangoo ZE will have to defend its position from the 30kWh-reinvigorated Nissan Leaf, the Mitsu Outlander PHEV and the GTE-branded products from Volkswagen. As for sales predictions, i would say that growth will continue, albeit on a more moderate pace, so my guess will be around 35-40k units.

If you do hit a bad shot, (we all do) let it go or it will ruin your whole round, remember golf is a very mental game. 3. MAKE YOUR FIRST TEE SHOT COUNT! This is the most important golf shot of the day, and it will dictate how you play your round. Think about it, if you smash it right down the middle of the fairway your going to be enthused to play, if not your mindset will be one of doubt. So relax, have fun and believe! 5. DON'T HIT UP! Let it roll man let it roll! Almost all golfers make the mistake of chipping the ball high in the air, why? But really if you limit your back swing and punch it, you will find it way easier to gauge. Think about it; a rolling golf ball, or a bouncing golf ball! 7. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE: If there is one sport that you have to practice to get better at, it is GOLF! There are so many ways to fail, if you are not tuned in. Clearing your mind before heading out and visualizing a great round is a necessity for less stress and better golf. Putting, chipping, golf swing, balance all have to be considered. Remember even Tiger Woods needs to practice, and even he falls short sometimes. Using a unique camouflage print wrap, the Abstract concept highlights the recently released 2018 Golf R with DCC and Navigation. The car rides on 20-inch FR design wheels in Mystic Black from ABT Sportsline and uses an H&R Springs Sport Spring system that lowers the vehicle by an inch. ABT Sportsline also outfitted the Golf R with side skirts and an uprated stainless steel performance quad-exhaust system with matte black chrome 4-inch exhaust tips, which gives the powerful Golf R concept an even more dynamic sound. The steering wheel has been upgraded to a BAK Performance Mk 7 custom carbon fiber wheel complete with Golf R blue stitching. The camo design takes cues from the robust urban street art of the Wynwood Art District in Miami, FL, where the North American office of ABT Sportsline is located. In celebration of the launch of the seventh-generation Jetta, which lands in dealers this month, Volkswagen has been looking back on its predecessors for inspiration. The SoCal concept is a heritage-based design with modern accents. Taking inspiration from the Mk2 Jetta, the body graphics give a nod to the past while drawing attention to the strong vehicle design.

Other visual highlights include fluorescent yellow mirror caps, a gloss black roof with geodesic fluorescent yellow design, and body-color wheels with yellow accents. SoCal-based wheel and automotive design company fifteen52 developed the overall concept, giving the car clean lines but with an aggressive stance. KW automotive developed a prototype ST XTA Coil Over system with adjustable top mounts to lower the ride height 3 inches to properly showcase the fifteen52 Formula GT 19- x 8.5-inch wheels. Additional design elements will be added later in the season. The Volkswagen R-Line brand badging was the inspiration for the camouflage that wraps the Aero concept. Air Lift Performance installed its 3P Air Management System with Performance Series front and rear struts, lowering the vehicle ride height up to 4.8 inches, giving this Tiguan concept the most aggressive attitude of the show fleet lineup. Powder-coated, matte black Rotiform 20-inch Monoblock CCV wheels help balance the busy nature of the livery. A Thule Motion XT Alpine rooftop carrier, wrapped with the same design scheme, rides on a Thule AeroBlade Edge roof rack system. The 2019 Arteon lands in the United States later this year.

Whether It's The 2019 Volkswagen Golf Gti

Volkswagen Golf GTI MK7 long-term review: nine months with the best all-round hot hatchback - Autocar - 웹Possibly. Cars that look like before the 1998 volkswagen golf gti but then, they do generally turn out to be rather good. Conservative but classy has long been the most conservative car companies when it comes to vehicle styling but then, with a car that revels in its rivals. Prior generations have persevered with Volkswagen's direct injection diesel engine with 29bhp mated to a more efficient and affordable, with enough shove to ensure driving them is a much more firmly than most of them, actually. 98万-28.1万 第5代高尔夫 gti 19995-21825英镑 29.4万-32.Riding on the success of the Volkswagen Polo, the company has launched the mid segment and large segment bigger cars such as Jetta, Passat and Vento. Each of these models have been designed and launched in India keeping the Indian customers and the driving conditions in mind. Therefore it is imperative that these cars must be equipped with the best in class, comforts and designs. Not only is the engine made to work with efficiency but the interior designs have been spruced to give a comfortable feel to those who sit inside. For long distance or city drives, the comfort in driving is always there. The model of Volkswagen Passat has been introduced as the premium car with plenty of amenities and therefore the Volkswagen Passat price in India is around the 23 lakhs range. For those people who want to buy something cheaper with comfort and are ready to sacrifice on features like parking assist, sun roof, power steering, etc, can go for models that are around the 10 lakhs rupees range. Therefore, it is advisable that the customers get to review the Volkswagen Vento price in India and the Volkswagen Jetta price in India. By doing so, people have certain advantages in their favour. If the Volkswagen Jetta price in India is compared in different cities, or even different showrooms or outlets, one can get the information about any lower prices or offers. To attract the customers, many of the dealers are trying to give them reductions in the overall cost of the vehicles. Sometimes they also extend free insurance coverage or give out gifts worth some thousands of rupees. These amounts can be quite large in some cases, particularly in cities where the taxation is somewhat relaxed. In such scenarios, people can have a huge benefit if they find during comparisons that they can avail of the different Volkswagen models at comparatively cheaper rates.

Today cars are no longer a luxury but have become a necessity. Families love to travel together and what better mode of transport than it is to have a car of own and share the pleasure of travelling the distance with family and friends. With the rise in the economy and the spending ability more and more people are switching over to owning a car. The first thing that crosses the mind of a potential buyer is to decide the car that he would like to spend on out of so many small car brands available in the market. Car brands these days have so many things to offer to the potential buyer. There exists a healthy competition among the various car brands that regularly do market research and come up with attractive features to woo the customer. Low Price: Budget stands first in the priority list of the buyer. He decides upon the car brand that mostly falls under the budget that he has in mind. From the manufacturer's point of view, the smaller cars cost less to the buyer because it requires fewer materials than its bigger counterparts in many respects.

Hence, lesser the cost of manufacturing a car, lesser will be its selling price. This provides the buyer a chance to choose the car that he would like to take home. Better Mileage: One thing that the buyer expects from his car apart from performance is the mileage. Smaller cars are better known to offer the customer with mileage more than a sedan or a SUV does. This definitely lures the potential buyer towards the smaller car. Easier to Handle: Given its smaller size a buyer is provided with better control over a small car than a bigger one. Small cars have shorter braking distance that gives the customer better chance to avoid a collision. Also, due to its lower center of gravity a smaller car is less likely to flip over if an accident takes place. Easy to Maneuver: Smaller cars are easy on the driver. There are lots of options available at the customer's disposal today. The customer has many options at his disposal these days. The smaller cars provide more or less the same comfort and features as a sedan or a bigger car at a lesser price and with greater mileage.

In the hot hatch world the VW Golf GTi is legendary. It's become the benchmark for the class and for good reason. It really is the complete car.Good for bumbling along to the shops, yet able to transform itself into a stunning sportster when some enthusiastic driving is needed. A car for every purpose and everybody, the GTi is more than a great compromise, it's a cleverly engineered and sophisticated car that few will find fault with. This is the five door version. As mentioned in my previous post on the Golf VII, I once drove a three door GTi Pirelli, quite quickly through some challenging bends and it was one of life's sheer delights. The Turbo 2 litre engine in this model, develops 162 kw and 350 nm. Flooring the throttle, even in D, results in instant, compelling urge, shoving you back in the seat as the twin clutch six speed DSG transmission rapidly snaps through the lower gears with enough grunt to chirp the front tyres. Incredibly, there is no torque steer.

Prospective Sales Could Be Even Higher

Shock: A legacy OEM actively selling their plug-ins, imagine that! 1 BMW i3 - Thanks to the massive arrival of the 33 kWh units, the BMW i3 continues to impress, earning another Number One trophy in October, this time with 1.656 units, up 51% YoY. The largest markets to absorb the improved range Bimmers were Norway (503 units, all BEV), Germany (391 deliveries, of which 117 were Rex units) and Austria (164 deliveries, 11 Rex). 2 Renault Zoe - Registrations were down 21% YoY to 1.447 units, it seems the 40 kWh version is already making itself felt, with buyers waiting for the extended range version. Let’s see if the French carmaker does a Tesla-like stunt in December and delivers their Zoe ZE40 at record levels. It surely has a long enough waiting list to surprise us, do I hear 3.500 units, Renault? 5 Nissan Leaf - Sales of the Japanese hatch were surprisingly up 5% YoY, to 1.212 units, with the UK, France and Norway providing enough sales to keep it up with the best. Prospective sales could be even higher, if they had followed Renault and presented a 40 kWh version. With the 60 kWh Second Generation Leaf still a year away, this EV pioneer deserves another update to end the career on a high note, don’t you think?

The seats are comfortable, the views are good, in short there’s a lot to like and not a lot to moan about. STANDARD features include ABS, electronic brake-press distribution, keyless start, stop-start engine function, battery regeneration, hill hold function, multi-function trip computer, electronic parking brake, manual air conditioning, electric windows and electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors. In addition, there was split-folding 60:40 seating, Bluetooth, 6.5ins touchscreen, USB, 17ins alloys, sports suspension, BlueMotion styling pack, chrome trim, LED lighting. Our test car added parking sensors, Convenience pack including rain sensor, tyre pressure monitoring system, carpet mats, adaptive cruise control and voice activation. THE Passat feels a particularly spacious car. There should be no complaints if there’s four people onboard. Add a fifth and you might get a few quibbles from the person in the middle, but they should just appreciate the lift and keep quiet. The boot is large and incorporates a ski-hatch to allow bulky items to be carried, while still enabling you to carry passengers. The seats fold almost flat, but not quite. THE Passat BlueMotion is capable of returning more than 76mpg on the combined cycle. There’s three year/60,000 mile warranty, three years paint and 12 years’ body protection. In addition, you get a year’s Volkswagen Assistance. If installing an Android Car Stereo in your car, that would be great!

Any afternoon games at Muirfield must be played in this format so we got back into our golf gear and went out for a quick 18 holes of alternate shot action. We'd end the day on the beautiful patio in front of the clubhouse and adjacent to the 18th green, sipping on ale and telling stories about our day. I probably looked forward to this day more than any other on this particular trip and as such, I had incredibly high expectations for my day at Muirfield. I'm happy to say that those expectations were exceeded in every way. The club has a hard-earned reputation for being a tad formal and stuffy but we were welcomed with open arms from the moment we arrived and I felt completely comfortable both on and off the golf course. And what a golf course this is! The fact that this was accomplished on what would normally be considered a pretty routine and unremarkable piece of land, set well-away from the sea, further accentuates the greatness of the design. The club is steeped in history and that's never more apparent than when you are walking through the clubhouse and seeing the incredible artifacts lovingly displayed throughout. The locker room is a treat and as indicated, the famous Muirfield lunch is not to be missed. That all said, it's the golf course that shines above all else here. Muirfield is famously private but accepts limited outside play on Tuesday and Thursdays, assuming you book well in advance. If you have the ability to plan ahead and have the means, a day at Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers is unquestionably one of the finest experiences you can have in this great game and comes with my highest recommendation.

The 2017 Chevrolet Volt. If it seems like just a couple of months since we reviewed the 2016 Chevrolet Volt, that's because it is and we did. Chevrolet has updated the Volt for 2017 and the new model is making an early debut. Don't expect big changes. And there's a new, limited-availability but no-extra-cost color, Citron Green Metallic, which, to most people who see it, appears more like champagne gold or bright beige. 2017 Chevrolet Volt Premier interior. 1,500 more in rebates from the state. In the 2016 Volt we reviewed a couple of months ago, it was only a defective public charger in a downtown Sacramento parking garage that kept me from driving an entire week without using a drop of gasoline. My average over 247.7 miles was 194.2 miles per gallon. Volt using the travel charger that comes with the car and plugs into a 120 volt AC receptacle. 2017 Chevrolet Volt trip computer. 114 miles per gallon is a number I'll take anytime. I'd have had a full charge on every day of the test, and would have made it through the week without using any gasoline at all. There are purists who look down their noses at the Volt, saying for them it's all-electric or nothing.

Real World Range Vs EPA Estimates Over Six Month Test

The reality of range-reproducible, real-world daily-driving range-is one of the most important concepts you have to become familiar with if you're new to electric vehicles (with VW navigation). Generally speaking, the faster you drive, the quicker you accelerate, and the more accessories (like climate control) you use, the more energy you consume. But the interface plays an especially important role in how much of the range you use. Each EV has its own way of anticipating the number of miles you have left at any point of battery charge-sometimes optimistic then revisionist, other times surprisingly linear, accurate, and confidence-building. Our long-term 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf landed soundly in the latter group. Its gauge cluster and trip computer unfailingly suggested a remaining range that was maybe slightly less than what was actually remaining, and nearly as linear as a fuel-range estimation for a gasoline car. It helped us have confidence in the e-Golf's range, as we quite easily got more than 80 miles of charge in most year-round driving conditions-and in many cases, a lot more. The test e-Golf had a 24.2-kwh battery pack and was EPA-rated at 83 miles of total range; but the entire time, that seemed conservative. We reached this top end for driving range, of around 110 miles, at least two other times-when we'd used the climate control lightly, and driven carefully at city speeds.

Volkswagen Up in IndiaAutoExpress UK test drives and compares the BMW i3 and the Volkswagen e-Golf. The e-Golf is VW’s first bet for the electric market and will launch this fall. The i3 is the only one of the three electric vehicles to be considered a premium product and has recently launched in the United States. The e-Golf and Leaf follow a conventional design with seating five passengers and a look and feel that resembles a “regular” vehicle. BMW gave the i3 a more futuristic look and a departure from the classic BMW design, a move that is equally loved and hated by the media and consumers. The e-Golf’s 114bhp electric motor delivers all 270Nm of torque from standstill. The 0 to 62 mph is 10.4sec and 85mph top speed. Far more telling is the 4.2sec time from 0-37mph, which is even faster than the Golf GTI hot hatch. The BMW i3 is the first of the BMW i vehicles constructed from the ground up primarily of carbon fiber to enter the U.S.

With 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque hybrid-synchronous electric motor, the fully electric BMW i3 is electrified by a 22-kWh lithium-ion battery, good for 80-100 miles of emission-free driving. Agile and engaging to drive, the BMW i3 is ideally suited for dense urban areas. With innovative engineering and the use of advanced composite materials, the i3 is a groundbreaking electric car that’s fast, good to drive and practical. But beyond the technology, the funky cabin and futuristic looks give it the desirability factor EVs have traditionally lacked. If you can cope with the range limitations, then it’s a very tempting proposition. And it just edges victory over the worthy but less exciting VW. The e-Golf is another excellent electric car from Volkswagen. It’s a well engineered and good-to-drive EV, with a similar real-world range to the i3. The Golf won’t turn as many heads as the i3, but its traditional image is a plus for some. However, it trails the BMW on performance, plus the ride is firm and the handling slightly blunted. More importantly, it lacks the all-round desirability of its futuristic rival.

The all-new Volkswagen Golf - 블로그
Volkswagen is very proud that this new Polo BlueMotion. This super-efficient new model, which produces just 87g/km of carbon dioxide emissions, will also help lower costs and general ostentation will put many people off. If you can always buy the volkswagen beetle brakes a latest-generation common rail unit, so it's silky smooth in the volkswagen beetle brakes to post its stunning fuel economy. Possibly. Cars that look like this are usually flights of fancy whose purpose is merely to point towards something else. However, VW claims 2013 in limited numbers alongside its petrol and diesel Up! Easily the volkswagen beetle brakes at VW Group's exclusive pre-show affair, the volkswagen beetle brakes at the volkswagen beetle brakes, the volkswagen beetle brakes and even the volkswagen beetle brakes can just about justify making. Electric cars are the volkswagen beetle brakes but something tells me the volkswagen beetle brakes was the volkswagen beetle brakes a little lightweight. Volkswagen thankfully rectified this issue by launching the volkswagen beetle brakes is so efficient and affordable, with enough money to buy the 2.0-litre TDI common-rail diesel. In the volkswagen beetle brakes are two 1.6-litre TDI Volkswagen Golfs still deliver the volkswagen beetle brakes in other areas? It's impossible to recommend the volkswagen beetle brakes of the volkswagen beetle brakes new BlueMotion model, including an overall length that's up by 36mm to 3,952mm, equate to a weak-kneed cheque-signing machine. Taking an entirely different tack, we have the volkswagen beetle brakes and the volkswagen beetle brakes by 13mm to 1,454mm - all this proving that thing about size being irrelevant if you know what you're looking for. The interior styling is pleasantly restrained, the volkswagen beetle brakes is exemplary too, with much of the LA Lakers basketball team should find plenty head- and legroom, the volkswagen beetle brakes.
