There's more, however, in the 2004 volkswagen jetta tdi is the 2004 volkswagen jetta wagon, which uses a six-speed manual and open up the engine has been crowned Car of the predictably excellent Mk VI. The forthcoming 2020 VW Touareg will get a new powertrain. A powerful 4.0-liter V8 TDI diesel engine is now in the offer. This unit is producing up to 415 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. Volkswagen said this will be the last V8 diesel engine you’ll see. Fresh Auto Reviews

Volkswagen Touareg Auto Wallpapers GroenLicht.beSo it's not just advertising hype to say the current generation Ford F-Series and Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra -- the market leaders -- are state-of-the-art. Even the Dodge Ram, though dated and a distant third in sales, still is distinctive, with its big-rig styling. Into this competitive buzz saw has come Toyota, whose redesigned Tundra is a distant fourth, though gaining. And, bringing up the rear -- at least in sales -- is today's subject, the Nissan Titan, with fewer than 46,000 sold through August. A week with a Titan helps to explain why it isn't doing better. A little research completes the picture. While the Titan obviously has been designed with great attention to detail and for the specific needs of customers who buy these bruisers, in the end it does not excel. Good as the Titan is, it fails to offer loyal Ford, GM, Dodge or even Tundra owners a compelling reason to switch.

Unlike the Tundra, it fails even to offer the promise of Japanese quality; Consumer Reports deems Nissan's big truck much worse than average in reliability, based on the magazine's annual surveys of its readers-vehicle owners. In fact, Nissan is proof that Japanese cars are no longer necessarily better than domestic models; the carmaker is a below-average performer in most of J.D. Well, it is a competitively designed large truck, from the throbbing V-8 under the hood to the plastic-protected bed with its clever cargo tie-down system. For '08 there's a new variation -- a long-wheelbase model called the 4x4 PRO-4X. It's intended for serious off-roading, and, considering that, its ride is amazingly civilized, with virtually none of the jounce one usually experiences in such models. Some reviewers have complained about the Titan's engine and driveline noise, but, though it's ever-present, I didn't find it tiresome or even objectionable. The wind noise, though, was another matter at highway speeds.

Back on the upside, the steering system is responsive and nicely weighted. The Pro comes in King or Crew cab style -- the former meaning a smaller cab with two rear doors that have their hinges at the rear; the latter meaning a larger cab with all four doors opening conventionally. Nissan offers four bed lengths in long-wheelbase models: the fairly useless 5.5 feet that's easily filled with a few pieces of redwood furniture or a few bundles of brush; 6.5 feet, and, new for '08, 7 feet and 8 feet. You'll have to opt for the shorter King cab to get the most useful, 8-foot bed. The longest bed available in Crew cab models is 7 feet, which means that 8-foot-long building material has to extend onto the tailgate. 25,135 with freight for an XE King cab with a 6.5-foot bed and with the same 5.6-liter V-8 as in all Titans, delivering 317 horsepower.

All Titans come with automatic transmission. 1,200 -- a package I would recommend you seriously consider. The Titan gets a good-as-they-come five-star rating from the federal government for its protection of the driver in frontal crashes; the rating is four stars for the passenger. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety also deems the Titan "good" in frontal crashes. But neither the Feds nor the institute have side-impact ratings for this model. 39,275 for Crew cab models. All '08s have freshened styling and new wheel styles, Nissan says, plus new seats and revised instrumentation. The tester's black-on-white analog gauges, part of the PRO-4X package, were first-rate: easy to read. In fact, the entire interior was first-rate. Controls are simple to operate, large enough and logically located. I found the seats excellent and the optional fore and aft adjustable pedals a welcome feature. The center console has a deep-lidded compartment ideal for a laptop and some files. The tester's five-speed automatic transmission was as commendably smooth as the tester's ride. And it was easy to control through the accelerator pedal. Manual downshifting for engine braking isn't quite as easy as it could be. The '08 Titans went on sale in the spring. The new long-wheelbase models also include a larger 37-gallon (versus 28-gallon) fuel tank, which brings up a drawback of all large pickups (and one reason they don't sell as well as they used to): fuel economy. 300) running boards are not available. In sum, the Titan continues to be a contender worth considering for its many thoughtful features -- especially if there's a Nissan dealer with whom you like to do business. But this is a tough arena, the choice is not an easy one and the Titan is not a standout.

My Volkswagen Story

As a member of a car club I often wonder what inspires others like myself to join such an organization. Certainly the cameraderie, the sense of being part of a big family, is an important factor. The club I belong to is devoted to all Volkswagens, old and new. The question for others fascinated with these cars is, What got us interested in Volkswagens in the first place? There are probably as many stories of inspiration as there are dandelions in my front yard every Spring. With that said, here is mine. I was born in 1959, and my memory goes as far back as 1962, when I was about two and a half years old. In those days generally only one parent was the breadwinner, as was the case with my father. We only had one car, and besides, my mother didn't know how to drive. The car we had was a 1957 Oval Window Beetle that was purchased "new" in Kansas City, Missouri.

I say "new" because at that time there were waiting lists much like there would be forty-one years later when the New Beetle first hit showrooms. Back in 1957, my father's 1946 Chevy was worn out and he started his search for a new car. He became interested in Volkswagens after reading about them in the popular publications of the day. A good ten years before hippies would exersise the concept of nonconformity, my father decided that he wanted a car that would stand out from the usual gigantic, tail-finned, gas-guzzling dinosaurs that roamed the streets during that period. 1700 he acquired a salesman's demonstrator with just a few kilometers showing on the odometer. Yes, kilometers (for those of you US readers). It would be many years before I would start driving, but I knew that I would be driving a Volkswagen someday. When I was in elementary school in the mid and late 1960's, the Muscle-Car Era, the boys in my classes would argue which cars were better, depending, of course, on what their fathers drove.

Most of the time it was Mustang vs. Corvette vs. Charger vs. GTO. I got many laughs when I contributed Volkswagens to the debates, but I didn't care. I thought the "bug" was better-looking than any of those cars, and I still do. I didn't and still don't care about 0-60 times. It has been said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and VW owners can all concur. Sadly, in 1970, after 13 years of dependable service and about 257,000 kilometers (160,000 miles,)my father had decided that it was no longer cost-effective to keep the car. Many trips to Oklahoma and the perpetual road salt that covered highways during Midwest winters had taken their toll, and when the amateur patching of bodywork no longer helped it was time to say good-bye to our Beetle. 25 for the VW, so my father gave it to a friend to use as a parts car.

I vividly remember fighting back tears as the friend gave us a ride back to our home. It was as if we had lost a member of the family, and as far as I was concerned we had. I got my Drivers' License in 1976, but I was in a hand-me-down Ford Maverick. Considering the manner in which I drove at 16, it's nothing short of a miracle that I am alive to tell this tale nearly thirty years later. Moving on to 1978, I at last had my own Volkswagen, a 1971 Super Beetle. In the early 1980's I had two more Beetles. In 2000, after trying various other makes I longed for a VW again and bought a 1996 Golf, followed by a 1969 Beetle three years later. Up to that time I was the only member of our VW club who did not own a classic air-cooled model from the early years. In nearly 46 years of life in this world, I have calculated that 22 of those have been with a Volkswagen. I have reached the point of no return now. I will always own a VW of some sort. My 8-year-old daughter has already picked her first car; a New Beetle. Kids have a tendency to change their minds quite often as new interests are acquired, but in this case, I don't think she will. It runs in the family.

In short order, a manager from the Valley dealer called back. 10% higher per month than what the local dealer quoted on a base model, so therefore my counter-offer was reasonable. 302/mo plus tax is their final offer. 50/month for the privilege of sitting on a dead cow every time I climbed into the Volt. I thanked him for his time and hung up. I called the local dealer and said I have 30 minutes to spend with them before I needed to go back home and take care of some things. The salesman had the car waiting for me before I arrived, just outside the tall glass walls of the dealership. I was sold as soon as I laid eyes on it, but figured I’d better check out the cloth interior and drive it for a few blocks before inking a deal. So we took it for a spin…. The cloth looked and felt just fine, and in Sport mode the Volt moved with the spunkiness of the Focus Electric. Fifteen minutes later we were back in the dealership to start the paperwork. My local Chevy dealer really came through for me on this. In retrospect, I do feel really bad about flying off the handle… especially today, after I sifted though unheard voice mail on my cell phone.

2019 MINI Cooper Clubman Test Drive

#AbenteuerE - Behind the Scenes bei den VW e-Golf Aufnahmen! - Vlog #004 - 동영상

MINI(with Car DVD) may need to lose the all caps and add an asterisk to its name. The all-new 2016 Cooper Clubman is the largest car the company has ever made. It’s enormous; a legit compact, hold the sub-. Nearly a foot and a half longer than the smallest MINI, it’s like a little limousine. That description isn’t much of a stretch, because the Clubman is built on a longer, wider version of the latest MINI Hardtop’s platform, itself now available in four-door form. The Clubman beats it on that count, too, as it has six doors. There are four for passengers, and, instead of a liftback, its hatch is accessed through side-opening split doors, just like a massive cargo van. They open into 17.5 cubic feet of cargo room, more even than MINI’s "SUV," the Countryman, can offer. Just don’t park to close to the car behind, they do swing out wide.

I should say, don’t let the car park itself. If you check the right options box, it can do that, in case you aren’t confident in your ability to pilot such a leviathan into a space. Up front, things are perfect. There are deep, sporty seats and a refined, not-too-cheeky version of MINIs signature interior design style, which still features a lot of toggle switches and circular elements. The large one in the center houses an infotainment system that’s operated by a knob fitted with a touchpad that allows you to write the names of destinations with your finger. And there’s a voice recorder, in case you get any bright ideas on the road. Like a three-cylinder engine, perhaps? The Clubman is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged triple shared with the lighter Hardtop, so it isn’t the quickest car in the company’s lineup. But its smooth 134 hp and 162 lb-ft of turbo torque shouldn’t have you longing for any more pistons. Nevertheless, you can step up to the Cooper S Clubman and its 189 hp turbo four-cylinder, if you are.

VW-Konzern sagt TOYOTA Kampf an. Bis 2018 weltweit die Nr ...The Clubman I tested was front-wheel-drive with a six-speed manual transmission, but an 8-speed automatic is available, as is all-wheel-drive. The stick is crisp, and will blip the throttle on downshifts to keep you from lurching along. You can turn the feature off, but you lose the stability control with it. Something you’d do before hitting a track or an autocross, perhaps. This isn’t really that kind of MINI, though. Case in point: It has an electronic parking brake, so no handbrake turns, either. Or not. It’s very nimble, and entertaining to drive on a twisty road. The suspension handles bumps and curves with equal skill, and that extra-long wheelbase adds stability. All told, the Clubman has a near-luxurious ride. 24,950, it’s a premium machine for its size. I'd peg its closest cross-shop to be the four-door Volkswagen Golf GTI; a slightly larger, much more powerful, fun to drive compact that’s one of the best cars in the world, but a little short on character. MINIs have plenty of that, even ones like this that don’t quite live up to the name. If installing a BMW GPS navigation in your car, that would be great!

Many of us do a lot of our own motorcycle maintenance and repair. The motivations for this are varied, but cost savings is probably the number one reason. I know it is for me! I've been an Automotive Technician for more years than I wish to remember, and it pains me to pay anyone to perform a service or repair I should be able to do myself. If I hadn’t been doing my own service and repairs I’m not sure I would have been able to afford the “Fine Piece of German Engineering” I have been riding for the past 130,000 miles. It's the little things that we do ourselves that can really add up in cost savings. One of those tasks is mounting and balancing our own tires. When I returned to riding I was shocked at how quickly those ZR-series skins wore out. I was used to getting 40-50,000 miles on a set of tires on my car, but only 6,000 on a set of motorcycle tires? Being the frugal person that I am, I bought my first set of replacement tires over the Internet.

30.00 per tire to mount and balance. This was a two-to-three hour procedure just to travel to and from the shop, and it was only possible during their normal hours of operation, obviously. I needed to come up with a better plan. After some experimentation, I found I could do the dismounting and mounting where I work on one of the automotive tire machines. Two riding buddies and I split the cost on a balancer for home, and this paid for itself -- or my share anyway -- with the first set of tires. But wouldn’t it be great if I could do everything at home whenever I needed to and not pay someone to scratch my rims? No more driving the cage to work on a beautiful day or riding around with the tire and rim from my son’s Gixxer strapped onto the back seat of my K1200LT. Thus the plan to purchase a tire mounting machine for home was hatched.

A search on the Internet for motorcycle tire changers resulted in several hits for both manual and automatic/power assisted changers. A powered automatic unit, commonly found in a professional shop, was out of the question due to its high cost. This left me with a few products that all seemed to work in the same manner via a long bar for removing and installing the tire bead from the rim. But my bike has painted alloy rims which can be easily scratched if clamped improperly or with jaws that have no protective treatment/covering. When using the machines at work I would always wrap the clamps that held the rim to the turntable with duct tape to prevent damage, which was a nuisance. Although there were cheaper brands, I found only one motorcycle tire changer that mentioned that their clamping system and bead bar were designed specifically not to mar any wheel, and hence their name, No-Mar. The creation of the No-Mar motorcycle tire changer was developed out of frustration by a motorcycle enthusiast tired of paying someone a bunch of money only to end up with scratched rims.

No-Mar’s goal is to manufacture an affordable motorcycle tire changer that’s fast, easy to use and safe on ALL types of rims, including carbon fiber (see their video for special handling procedures). They claim to continuously refine their products to make them efficient and easy to use without harming any type of rim. And, the No-Mar motorcycle tire changer is made right here in the U.S.A. No-Mar has several motorcycle tire changer models available, including "heavy duty" models for the more demanding environments such as a professional repair shop that replace numerous tires on a daily basis. One of the things I appreciated, as a prospective buyer, was the fact that No-Mar provides online videos that demonstrate the use and operation of all of their equipment. When needed, I could slide the tire changer into the receiver on my truck, do my tire changing and then store it out of harm's way, or maybe even hoist it overhead in the garage.
