Volkswagon Touareg from an owners perspective. The Volkswagon Touareg provides a great combination of the sport and luxury feel into one. The seats are very comfortable but don't quite hold you like a sports car. The car is equipped with great, easy to use features including navigation and Bluetooth. The Touareg has great maneuverability along with great visibility allowing the driving to navigate the roads with confidence. The backseats have decent leg room along with good head room and will comfortably fit two. With three backseat passengers, the back can be a little snug with a lack of leg room and arm room for the middle passenger. The trunk has a sufficient amount of space able to contain what the driver needs. A good example would be that it can fit multiple bags of golf clubs. The driving experience is very tight and sporty. The Touareg provides the driver with both comfort and a sporty feel, allowing for a combination of usability and fun for the driver. In the end, the Volkswagon Touareg is a great vehicle providing the driver with all their everyday needs and a dose of fun.
Skoda Rapid has been raising a lot of hue and cry over the last few days and finally all the commotion will come to an end when the company launches the car by the end of this month. The car is expected to do pretty well because of its entry level positioning and off course the high tech features that one usually associates with the Skoda. The company is looking to go the way of the masses with its entry level sedans and target huge volumes in the process. This is the first time the company is coming up with an entry level sedan car in the Indian market with the launch of Skoda Rapid. As of now the company has still kept the price of the car under wraps but the car can be expected to be priced competitively. From the media reports, the market positioning and the features one can expect the price of the car to be around the price range of Rs. 7.50 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh as per ex-showroom data.
The bench is easily wide enough for three adult backsides, and the space enough plenty for the attached six legs. The up-spec Touareg versions give a/c with two independent rear zones as well as two up front. The boot also gains by the car’s huge width. It’s 810 litres, plus a big underboot compartment that held, on the test car, a collapsed spare and air pump. There’s also tons of storage around the cabin. The Touareg’s cabin material quality and finish used to be a thing of wonder, because there were few luxury SUVs when it launched. Now all the premium brands are at it. The Touareg hasn’t moved on far enough, so some of the materials around the lower dash feel pretty ordinary by today’s standards. It looks good at night though, with many of its contours picked out by LED backlighting. For real wow factor, then, you need the version with the so-called Innovision cockpit. This mates a 12-inch TFT driver display to a 15-inch centre touchscreen packing 1920 by 1020 pixels.
It was over 35 years ago when the Volkswagen Golf first made its appearance and it has been a consistently popular seller ever since. The Brand New Volkswagen Golf Mark VI comes with a choice of four petrol engines and three diesel engines. My personal pick of the bunch is the twin-charged 1.4Litre Petrol which produces 160Bhp which is phenomenal for a car of this size. Driving this car is unlike the experience of the previous model Golf (the Mark V), as it adds an element that its predecessor was lacking slightly; excitement. Other than the GTi models, the Golf has never been considered an exciting drive. It has been described as safe, comfortable, economic and ecological but never exciting. The supercharged and turbocharged 1.4 litre engine feels raw, edgy and above all, powerful. All of a sudden the VW Golf seems al lot less British after all. Essentially, the Volkswagen Golf Mk VI has retained everything that the consuming public loved about the car since its initial inception, but they have been treated to a few added extras now. The Golf is still safe, comfortable, economical and ecological, but now it has the capability to force your head back into the headrest and leave you with a silly schoolboy grin on your face. Although the Golf has evolved into the consummate city car, if you take the new Golf out onto country lanes, you will see why I can say with confidence that this is the most impressive the Golf has ever been.
