My Volkswagen Jetta won't start. It cranks over fine and the battery is okay, it just won't kick over. What else should I check to figure out the problem? Integrated in the glow pencil, the sensor continually measures pressure conditions in the cylinder and reports the data to engine management. This enables perfect control of injection and combustion for each cylinder; it is even possible to compensate for fluctuating fuel qualities. Ideal combustion helps to reduce raw emissions. It also optimizes quiet running and noise behavior. The common rail injection system that has undergone intensive advanced development serves the same purposes. With a new high pressure pump design (CP 4.2), the system builds up a pressure of 2,000 bar - this is new too. The piezo injectors also appear in a significantly modified form. Their smaller eight-hole nozzles inject fuel into the combustion chambers in miniscule volumes. This new design and its higher pressure make injection even more precise and dynamic - detailed work that in sum has produced one of the most fuel efficient and cleanest six-cylinder diesel engines in the world.

To reduce weight, the turbo system is plumbed with rigid, lightweight resin composite inlet pipes to carry intake air to and from the intercooler.

Accord Sport models offer available 6-speed manual transmissions (6MT) with either the 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter turbocharged engines. The two manual transmissions are engineered to match the displacement and torque output of the engine they are paired with. Both units offer smooth and precise shift feel and great efficiency, making them the perfect complement to the Accord's sporting side. A constant-mesh helical reverse gear mechanism significantly reduces noise when reverse is used. A reverse lockout feature prevents the transmission from accidentally being shifted into reverse while the car is moving forward. Accord 1.5-liter offers the responsiveness and efficiency of an available Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) has smooth and predictable gear ratio transitions and excellent acceleration matched with efficient low-rpm cruising. A wide ratio spread results in strong acceleration performance coupled with reduced engine rpm at high road speeds. The redesigned CVT has an 11-percent lower ratio compared to the previous-generation version for more powerful launch performance. The Accord CVT has a special G-design shift logic that is designed to offer more immediate acceleration response than other CVT designs. During full throttle acceleration, G-Design shift logic employs stepped ratios as the vehicle speed increases.

This helps give the transmission a more "connected" feel as the engine rpm and vehicle speed increase together. This stepped operation also improves acceleration performance incrementally. The transmission can be operated in three different fully automatic forward modes with the console-mounted straight-gate shifter. The D mode is ideal for most driving situations, and combines fuel efficiency with smooth operation and responsive power when needed. The S mode is for more performance-oriented driving and features more aggressive transmission mapping to keep engine rpm higher for greater acceleration and response, while also providing greater engine braking. The L mode is ideal for situations when additional engine braking is desired, such as in mountainous driving. Accord 2.0-liter models are available with a new, Honda-developed 10-speed automatic transmission (10AT), the first of its kind in the Accord's segment. Engineered for high efficiency with low internal inertia and an exceptionally wide ratio range, the 10AT maximizes the Accord's performance and fuel efficiency.

Compared to the previous 6-speed automatic, the 10AT is 22 lbs. 68 percent wider overall ratio range with a 43 percent lower first gear and a 17 percent taller top gear. The 10AT is designed to be lightweight and compact. It features four planetary gear sets that work together to provide an exceptionally wide ratio spread of 10.139:1 compared to 6.041:1 on the previous-generation Honda Accord's 6-speed unit. The 10-speed also has substantially faster upshift and downshift performance than the previous generation 6-speed transmission. To maximize fuel efficiency and minimize interior noise, the transmission's 10th gear is exceptionally tall, resulting in quiet and relaxed cruising rpm. In the 2018 Accord with 10-speed automatic transmission, the conventional shift lever is replaced with a fully electronic, shift-by-wire gear selector. Park, Neutral and Drive are selected with the push of a button. Reverse is selected by pulling back a dedicated switch. Indicator lights on or next to the buttons indicate the mode selected.

I am hoping some people on here can make some suggestions for applications or software they have used (and like) to video their kids' volleyball games that are good for making highlight videos suitable for posting or sending to coaches. Our club uses HUDL but a lot of the players do not like that the video quality is lowered (for bandwidth likely) and it freezes too much. They also do not like that each "cut" can only be 20s total as some have been told to include entire plays in their highlights (to show their defense etc). 10-15 per month but I cannot remember the name. He said it was easy to choose/size/download the clips and then edit it into a highlight reel. Any help or suggestions (even ones people do not like) would be appreciated. I want to try it at AAUs and GJNC side by side with HUDL and see if we can get a solution for next year.

There are many factors that affect how well blood clots. If a dog is missing any one of these crucial factors, a clotting disorder will develop. Dogs with clotting disorders will bleed more than a typical dog, and may have life-threatening bleeds during routine surgeries, like neutering. The most common clotting disorder in dogs is called von Willebrand's Disease, which is often detected by a common screening tests at the veterinarian's office (the so-called gum prick test). During surgery, the animal may bleed profusely, triggering suspicion of von Willebrand's Disease (vWD). Some breeds are more likely to have vWD and will be tested specifically for the problem by their breeder. What is von Willebrand's Disease? Animals who do not have a normal level of von Willebrand's Factor (vWF) will not form blood clots in a normal time frame. WF is crucial for normal platelet function, and the lack of vWF will prevent platelets from aggregating properly at a wound site.

Willebrand Factor is made by the epithelium lining the blood vessels. It acts as a "glue" to bind platelets to the site of the wound. When a dog doesn't have a normal level of vWF, the platelets cannot bind to the broken blood vessel walls, which causes prolonged bleeding. Fortunately, most dogs have a mild presentation of von Willebrand's. This means that the bleeding disorder will rarely cause problems, and your pet will likely have a full life. Some forms of von Willebrand's are more severe and these dogs require specialized care. Most dogs are screened for clotting disorders prior to surgery. A test known as the mucosal bleeding test is generally performed before spay and neuter operations. The vet will prick the gum of the dog and the time to clot formation is noted. Dogs with a prolonged clotting time may have one of several disorders, including von Willebrand's.

There are two specific tests for vWD: one is a genetic test, and the other measures activity of vW Factor in the blood. Veterinarians can order both tests. How do Dogs get von Willebrand's? Willebrand's Disease is a hereditary clotting disorder, where levels of von Willebrand's Factor are less than 60% of normal. There are three types of vWD in dogs: the first type tends to be mild, and the last two types are severe. Type I vWD: occurs in many breeds, and the dogs have a reduced level of von Willebrand's Factor. The severity of the bleeding increases as the level of vWF decreases. This type is inherited as an "incomplete dominant," meaning that puppies will inherit it from their affected parent, but the degree will vary depending on how much of the gene is expressed. Two pups from the same litter may have dramatically different levels of vWF.

This type is the most mild type, and most dogs live a full life. If both parents have the vWF gene, puppies who inherit both copies of the gene will be stillborn or die shortly after birth. Type II vWD: This type is extremely severe and causes profuse bleeds in affected dogs. This type of vWD is not caused by a low level of von Willebrand's Factor, but by an abnormally functioning factor. This type of vWD is seen in the pointer breeds. This is the rarest of the vWD types. Type III vWD: This type is also rare and extremely severe. These dogs do not have any von Willebrand's Factor at all. This type of von Willebrand's is autosomal recessive, so carriers of the disorder will not display any type of bleeding disorder at all. 25% of the puppies will inherit the bleeding disorder (getting both copies of the gene). Up to 10% of Scottish Terriers carry this gene, making the disorder a serious problem for breeders.

Many dog breeds are affected by Type I vWD, the mildest version of the disease. Type II vWD is extremely rare, and has been observed in the German Short-Haired Pointer. Type III vWD is also rare and has been reported in the Scottish Terrier, Shetlands, and (rarely) in Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. Aggressive play should be kept to a minimum. Visits to the dog park, for example, could be dangerous for a dog with von Willebrand's. If another animal bites or otherwise injures the dog, profuse bleeding could result. All dogs should undergo a clotting screening prior to surgery, and breeds with a known predisposition to the more severe forms of vWD should have genetic testing performed. Any dog with a known clotting disorder should receive prophylactic treatment before any surgery is considered. There is no cure for von Willebrand's, but appropriate steps may be taken to ensure the animal is kept as healthy as possible. Transfusions of vWF are possible for dogs with a more severe form of the disorder (or for dogs who have recently undergone trauma). For dogs with known vWD, an elective transfusion may be given prior to any surgery to ensure the dog does not bleed excessively during the procedure.
