2019 VW Touareg Release Date, Price, Interior Redesign, Exterior Colors, Changes, Specs

Volkswagen Club Fest Sofia 2018
Like on any other new VW’s release, the biggest possible thing on this 2018 VW Touareg is the new MLB platform. That will be the joint platform for all VW group’s vehicles, to lower the production cost and the cost of the spare parts. The redesigned model (third generation) was seen in a couple of occasions during this year. It was spotted on the road and in traffic, wearing heavy camouflage over its front and back. What we could see is that the model is going through the serious makeover in the interior and exterior likewise. The updates for the engine are not official, but we expect the somewhat better versions of gasoline and diesel engines. A hybrid version is not out of the picture, especially after they announced the new MLB platform. 51,350 in the U.S. 2,000 higher price than you would have to pay for the current model.

Expect higher prices in Europe. The biggest part of the 2018 VW Touareg, we had an opportunity to review, wasn’t under the camouflage. But that was just enough to conceal all the updates we cared about. Nevertheless, the thing that we know for sure is that the vehicle’s dimensions are going to stay the same. We know that because there were some spy shots of a three rows SUV, earlier this year. That SUV was almost the same in dimensions like the 2018 VW Touareg. The style is going to be similar to the T-Prime Concept car or something you could expect out of the new redesigned Passat. If they follow those cues, then expect a large grille with new headlights and LED daytime running lights. Bumpers on the front and back are going to be stylistically different, sportier and edgier than before. The rear part is going to have the thinner backlights placed way high and a lot of chrome all around the bumpers. The overall design will be much lighter, which naturally comes with the new platform.

All the companies now tend to drop the heavy materials and they look for new in order to have a more fuel efficient vehicles. That is why almost every car manufacturer now has a new platform. Inside, in the 2018 VW Touareg interior expect enough room for more than just five persons. Yes, the vehicle will be registered for five, but it is huge. It has always been a vehicle with a great deal of comfort. Although, we have to emphasize that it will not be made as a three-row version. The overall space inside the cabin is going to be slightly bigger, having in mind that VW announced lower height of seats. That different design of seats means that we will have more room for our heads and shoulders, but it could be a problem for knees and toes of some taller persons. Everything has been good inside, and nobody had anything to cry about, except maybe the infotainment system.

That is going to be fixed in this redesigned interior. There will be a central 15” display, mounted in the middle of the console, modernized instrument cluster and door panels made of high-grade leather. The quality of seats is going to differ from trim to trim but expect only the best. This is a VW after all. It’s a “no-brainer” when we come to the topic of 2018 VW Touareg engine options. Diesel and gasoline engines are the default offer in the VW’s arsenal. The all-new engine will be a 2.0 liter four cylinder, but only for Europe and Asia. Fuel consumption will be better than on the last model. Because we don’t have any official data, the last year’s EPA rates were 17mpg city/ 23mpg highway/ 19mpg combined. Since there are spaceships that will spend less fuel, VW had to do something. That is why they now have the totally different platform, lighter materials, and better engines. All previous versions of VW Touareg were too small in the cargo space, too thirsty for fuel and two steps behind with the quality of infotainment system. Even the top of the line VW Touareg Executive trim level had a terrible infotainment. 50,000 for a car, you expect perfection. That is what we are hoping to see different this time. That is why we were so happy because we saw a different display on the console and that news about the platform change.

It remains quiet at highway speeds and features some soft-touch materials, but you can also spot some hard plastics that detract from the overall feel. The Jetta provides just over 14 cubic feet of cargo space, which is enough room for about 10 pieces of carry-on luggage. That's a good amount of room for this class, and you can fold down the rear seats if you need to carry larger items. Standard features in the Jetta include the MIB II infotainment system with a 6.5-inch touch screen, four speakers, a USB port, Bluetooth, and VW Car-Net App-Connect, which includes connectivity options like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and MirrorLink. Available features include a sunroof, an eight-speaker BeatsAudio sound system, HD Radio, satellite radio, and an upgraded infotainment system with an 8-inch touch screen, navigation, additional VW Car-Net services, and an additional USB port. The Jetta features a user-friendly infotainment system with plenty of smartphone connectivity technology and a responsive, easy-to-see touch screen.

New Entry-level Audi A7 Sportback 45 TDI Engine Arrives

The Audi A7 Sportback has just become slightly more attainable thanks to the introduction of a new entry-level diesel engine. Using Audi’s recent - and still seemingly arbitrary - naming strategy, the new model will be referred to as 45 TDI, sitting below the existing 50 TDI diesel and 55 TFSI petrol variants. Essentially, the new model features the same 3.0-litre V6 used by the 50 TDI, but in a lower state of tune. At 228bhp, it makes 52bhp less than the 50, but 13bhp more than the equivalent model in the old A7 Sportback. Maximum torque stands at 500Nm, spread widely across a 1,750rpm to 3,250rpm range. Driven through an eight speed automatic and quattro all-wheel drive, the 45 covers the 0-62mph benchmark in 6.5 seconds and can carry on to a 155mph top speed. Like the rest of the A7 range, the 45 TDI gets a 48-volt electrical system which allows for a mild hybrid drivetrain. This system lets the engine shut down at speeds between 34mph and 99mph when coasting, and can charge the car’s lithium ion battery through regenerative braking. When coming to a complete stop, the engine can disengage from 13mph to save extra fuel, while a front-facing camera detects when traffic ahead moves away, re-starting the engine in preparation. Prices start at £52,240 in Sport trim and rise to £55,140 for the S line. Standard equipment includes a set of 19-inch alloy wheels, a twin-touchscreen infotainment system, Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument display, LED lights front and rear and a rear-view camera. S line models gain 20-inch alloys, firmer suspension and Matrix LED lights which play fancy animations when the car is locked and unlocked.

Thought the 3 Series was the bread and butter BMW? No longer. Buyers are flocking to the X1, X3 and X5 SUVs; the bigger X7’s just arrived and then there are coupe-esque versions of each. The X5 started BMW’s SUV revolution back in 2001, so we throw keys to the current range-topping M50d to our family of testers. Jules: Life’s not fair. Iain: I’m expecting a First World problem coming. Jules: Yep. I’ve found the perfect car to satisfy my love of performance, luxury and practical space for the kids. I ain: So let me guess, the unfair bit is the price? 150,000 BMW charges for its X5 M50d, the world would be a happier place. Who gets to buy these things? Iain: Not motoring journos, obviously. But plenty of others do. Jules: Hence why they clog up private school car parks. 113K and makes more sense than our range-topper.

Jules: It’s hugely imposing. I’m not sure about the rear styling but the front is excellent. I ain: I’m the other way around. Back end looks fat and tough but the front looks as if it’s been punched in the face. The grille, blue bits in the Laserlight headlights and giant 22-inch alloys ooze bling. Jules: Who knew I’d be such a sucker for coffee-coloured quilted Merino leather seats? Iain: It was inevitable. It’s good to not have boring black leather or easily marked white seats. It’s a lavishly impressive cabin, isn’t it? Jules: I know it’s expensive but the comfort, layout, dual 12.3-inch screens, massive panoramic sunroof, heated and cooled cup holders and pumping Harman Kardon audio make me want to live in here. 900. They don’t miss you. Jules: It’s just money, eh? If I’ve any complaint, the ambient lighting could be brighter, like in a Mercedes. Iain: Nope. Too bright and ambient lighting is vulgar.

It’s not a disco. Jules: There’s a crafted glass gear shifter and dial, of course it’s a disco. 1200 for these glitter balls by the way. Jules: I can’t believe it’s a diesel engine. I ain: BMW’s 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel has for ages been a work of magic. They’ve strapped four — yes, four — turbos to this one. Jules: Four turbos to go wrong in future? Iain: Cynic. Outputs are 294kW/760Nm, meaning a 0-100km/h time of 5.2 seconds for this big brute. Jules: Effortless cruising and it’s so much fun when you open the taps and surge forward. Iain: It’s got all the expected clever tricks, such as head-up display on the windscreen, and stays between the lanes by itself. Its low-profile tyres on the 22-inch wheels may be grippy but boy do you feel the road bumps through them. Jules: I really wanted to take it shopping at Tiffanys but Woolies had to do.

The Quietest Cars On Sale 2019

奥迪将推多款suv车型 q8将于2019年推出
There are plenty of cars for sale that offer driving thrills and excitement, but what do you buy if you want to take things easy? Sometimes you don't want a car with raw responses and the kind driving most motorists do on our traffic-clogged, potholed roads is often more suited to the relaxed approach anyway. If you want the quietest experience possible when driving, you’ve come to the right place as we've picked 10 of the quietest cars for sale in the UK today. In the past, a quiet car meant you'd have to pay big money for the most refined and plush luxury cars on sale. Makers such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley have traded on their hushed opulence for decades, and it's a similar story for the ultimate Mercedes models. The company has promoted its luxury limousines, from the 600 Grosser all the way through its S-Class and Maybach derivatives, as the finest way to travel for those that could afford it. The same can be said for cars such as the Toyota Century limousine and top-spec Cadillac and Lincoln models in the US.

2004 Vw Beetle Fuse Box Diagram. Car Installation Guide. Headlight Assembly Replacement - 웹But with the onset of new technology, top level refined and truly quiet cars have become far easier to create on a smaller budget. And then there are the hi-tech solutions. Some car makers now offer noise cancelling technology via a car's sound system. This deploys specific frequencies through a car's speakers that counter background noise that's coming into the car. There's also acoustic glass, which is a more economical alternative to double glazing. This adds a specially designed plastic layer sandwiched between two layers of glass that laminates it and helps to reduce wind and road noise. Under the skin, developments in technology have boosted refinement. Engines with multiple cylinders are generally smoother, but makers have added tech such as balancer shafts to help reduce vibration even further. The other option is to eliminate internal combustion completely in favour of the silent running offered by an electric car or plug-in hybrid. Then there are suspension systems that are designed to iron out bumps.

Cars using airbags instead of springs are generally smoother, while higher quality bushings and other suspension components help with a smooth ride, and in luxury limos there's no expense spared when it comes to the quality of components. The latest tech even sees some cars adjusting their suspension according to the road ahead, taken from GPS data or sensors, to smooth things out even further. S-Class means Sonderklasse in Germany, which translates into 'special', and the S-Class is certainly that. It's been Mercedes' ultimate luxury car since the S badge was introduced in 1972, although Mercedes has long had a history of large luxury cars dating back even further. The S-Class has been a showcase for Mercedes' latest tech, and much of this has been designed to offer the quietest and most refined drive possible. Innovations that have debuted on the S-Class over the years include air suspension, heated seats, climate control, double glazing, self-closing doors, ventilated seats, adaptive cruise control, massage seats and radar-controlled active suspension.

The latter is available on the current S-Class, which also features a plush cabin covered in premium materials, including soft leather, thick carpets and plenty of wood trim. Luxury comes in the form of massage seats for all occupants, while the Individual Rear Seats package adds reclining seats that are fully adjustable with inflatable cushions that you can pump up (electrically of course) to get perfectly comfortable. Add-in air-suspension, acoustic glass, rear blinds and the most advanced rear entertainment systems available, and the S-Class is still a quiet and refined machine. For the most hushed performance, the new S 560e L EQ plug-in hybrid offers around 30 miles of silent running before the petrol engine cuts in. When it comes to quietness, bigger is better. And while the latest Phantom is lighter and less bulky than its predecessor, it's still a road-going giant packed with luxury. Power still comes from a big V12 engine, but there are twin turbos to help keep the noise down, and the 12-cylinder layout is a natural for smoothness - a basic requirement for any Rolls-Royce that's ever been built.

And this silence will be heard whether you're stopped in traffic or are wafting along at 70mph. Wind noise is all but eliminated, while those huge tyres give barely a roar when you're up to speed. For the ultimate in quiet off-road running, the Range Rover still holds all the best cards. Air suspension helps to iron out the roughest of beaten tracks, and the plush interior has the measure of cars like the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7 Series for upmarket appeal. Another benefit is that the upright cabin means there's more space inside, especially if you choose the long-wheelbase version. The Bentley Bentayga marked the start of a new era for high-performance, ultra-luxury SUVs. That big W12 barely ticks over at any speed, courtesy of the standard eight-speed automatic choosing the right ratio for ultimate refinement. The engine is super-smooth, too, courtesy of its unique layout, although the V8-powered model is virtually as refined.

Automobile Reviews Simply Done: Boy Toy Icon

Audi
The time had come to lay the red carpet for the only family member that missed a dab of the Audi crown jewels, a "goatee"! Yes, the 2008 TT not only adorns the looks but is creating sensations the world over with its longer, wider and newly sculpted presence. It now looks more purposeful without losing its iconic aerodynamic shape, the low bonnet line with wide-spaced xenon headlamps and bullish stance give it a perception of motion even at standstill, it was raring to go. It shares some of its lineage from the VW Golf GTI, its heart is a turbo charged 2 litre four-potter, producing 200 bhp@ 6000 RPM. Torque starts pumping your adrenalin from as low as 1800 RPM and a peak torque of 280 Nm keeps you bolted to your seat at 5000 RPM. Redlining the rev counter is too easy and a joy with the 6-speed S Tronic tranny with super-slick gearshifts.

Silhouette of ManThe electro-mechanical steering wheel is near-perfectly weighted and gives excellent feedback. In "S" Sports mode the TT keeps the revs in the red, understandable. Being front wheel drive, understeer is present but controllable with a dab of your right foot. The ride quality is comfortable for a sports coupe. Our test car came with adjustable damping control in the suspension. Audi's 'magnetic ride' damping system adjusts the suspension for firm or soft ride (sports mode on/off) via a switch on the centre console. The system comprises of magnetically charged particles suspended in the oil dampers. When electrical current is passed through them, within milliseconds they change the ride quality from firm and sporty to soft and supple. Audi prides in technology and the latest in Audi Space Frame (ASF) has been incorporated into the TT. 69 percent of the body is built from aluminium alloy and the remaining 30 percent (of steel) has been used in the rear section to distribute weight evenly. To improve down force (as the car is front engined) a retractable spoiler has been cleverly set into the bootlid.

It raises itself at 120 kph but can also be manually raised via a button on the centre console, just for kicks. 100kph comes up very very quickly in 6.5 seconds, as it only weighs 1.2 tons. Inside, our test car came with red leather upholstery (electrically operated seats) and a simpleton dash with layout canted towards the driver. The buttons are tactile and easy to locate in broad daylight, though interior lighting could've been brighter as we had some trouble locating the switches in pitch dark on the all black dash. Milled aluminium twist vents still adorn the on-dash aircon vents. It feels like a race car on the inside with subtle buffed aluminium garnish all around. The steering wheel is adjustable for rake and reach with audio controls for the 6-disc in-dash CD changer. Large diameter disc brakes all around are present and essential for the formidably quick shot in the arm power surge the TT is capable of. All the safety aids of ASR, EBD and ABS are reassuringly present, as are four airbags. The limited glass area and fast roofline keep the luggage carrying capacity decent, with 288 litres and with the rear seats down increasing to 700 litres. The Audi TT inherits a sports car pedigree, taking its practicality and popularity to a higher level.

Generally, the covered by insurance is needed to incorporate some insurance outlines. There are lots of possibilities from which to choose. You might want to select insurance coverage just in case you drive an additional auto. Additionally, there is the option for including other people in the plan. Sociable insurance can be chosen for that robbery of your auto or motor vehicle pieces. Un-covered with insurance driver insurance is extremely typical. This is when uninsured car owners are taken care of. This is useful should there be a car accident as well as the other celebration doesn't possess the necessary insurance. A lot of the agreements that pertain to vehicles have extremely comparable information. Also, car insurance organizations can be very distinctive from one more. When you pick an excellent firm, the help can also be wonderful. You can expect to make use of far better charges and protection also. WHAT WE LIKE: Although this may sound familiar, the Honda Accord is just really, really good. Even after 10,000 miles and four months in the fleet, logbook comments remain overwhelmingly positive. WHAT WE DON'T LIKE: There is little of substance that we don't like about this car, but as in any happy relationship, small annoyances crop up over time. Chief among them is that the automatic transmission's upshifts into second gear can be unusually rough, especially under hard acceleration. We'd hoped the 10-speed automatic's one-two upshifts would smooth out over time, but we're now well past the break-in period, so it's clear the problem won't resolve itself. Honda assures us that this is not a known issue with 10-speed Accords, so we're sending our car in for a diagnosis. With any luck, there will be one less mark in the cons column at our next update. WHAT WENT WRONG: Despite so little having gone wrong during our test, we've spent quite a lot of money on repairs.

Towing Capacities Of Volkswagen Vehicles

Utility is a reason so many people buy trucks and SUVs, but sometimes there are other types of vehicles with more capability than you think. The Porsche Macan SUV arrived in 2014 to great fanfare. Complementing the Cayenne in the German brand’s SUV range, it opened up Porsche ownership to an even wider range of buyers - but it earned its stripes on merit. The original was a peach to drive, with a premium image that meant owners loved it. There was a good choice of powertrains, too, with V6 petrol and diesel models offering differing performance. However, diesel is no more in the updated Macan line-up. Instead, the most efficient model is now this 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit. It was available on special order in the old car, but few UK buyers took up the option. With this renewed focus on petrol power, the facelifted Macan is set to be much more popular. The Porsche has always been an SUV for keen drivers, so its main competitor is clearly the Jaguar F-Pace - another premium package that focuses on petrol-powered driving enjoyment mixed with quality, practicality and equipment. This 2.0-litre car is the entry-level model in the new Macan range.

Prices start from £46,344, so it’s well matched to the F-Pace. However, it’ll have to live up to the Jag’s new technology, too. Let’s find out how much of an improved package the Porsche is. Under the skin, the Macan still uses the same platform, so there are no huge changes here. That means the basic suspension layout remains, with double wishbones at the front and a multi-link set-up at the rear. However, there are lighter but firmer springs, which are claimed to improve handling without compromising comfort. Other alterations ensure it’s even more refined. The optional Porsche Adaptive Suspension Management (PASM) function is probably worth its £816 cost to broaden the Macan’s ability. The 2.0-litre unit is the same basic motor as that fitted to VW’s Golf GTI Performance, with a particulate filter in the exhaust for this updated car. There’s 242bhp, 370Nm of torque and a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox, only here it sends power to all four wheels.

There are more changes inside the Porsche - the most important of which is the new 10.9-inch infotainment screen. It’s similar in appearance and operation to the units in the Panamera, Cayenne and the latest 911, and it’s here where the new Macan gets its largest technology update. The rest of the cabin is similar to its predecessor’s, which means even in this entry-level car quality is impressive. The centre console still features a few too many buttons and switches compared with the simpler set-up in Porsche’s newer models, though. You get a good standard of basic kit, with sat-nav, Apple CarPlay, DAB, 18-inch alloys, LED lights, cruise and climate control, a power tailgate and parking sensors. However, features such as a full-leather interior are extra, at £1,044, while heated seats cost £294. Both are standard on the Jag, but the Macan’s cabin quality still feels stronger than the F-Pace’s.

The Golf 4 model is a car manufactured by Volkswagen, sold new from year 2002 to 2003, and available after that as a used car.

The overall styling of the Golf 6 GTI continues the heritage of sporting looks with a touch of class - we like it. When we tested VW's new 1,4-litre TSI Golf 6 we commented that "we immediately felt at home behind the controls - like slipping into your favourite pair of jeans". Well the new GTI is no different, except for one thing, it's a GTI! Heavily bolstered seats, a chunky 3-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, brushed stainless-steel covered pedals and decorative red seams on the steering wheel, gearshift surround and leather parking brake, immediately tell you this is not an average Golf. Instruments and controls are clearly legible, easy to reach and operate. The decorative inserts in the doors and instruments are finished in a black, high-gloss metallic look, which serve to round off a high quality interior. Another key to the GTI's success, has always been its ability to carry four people in comfort with a respectable sized boot for their luggage.

This latest variant is no different and with between 350 and 1305-litres of carrying capacity, it will easily cope with the majority of your cargo needs. These attributes help to make the Golf GTI a hot hatch with a family focus - and if you're travelling with loved ones you'll be pleased to know that the new GTI is fitted with an arsenal of safety features. Suffice to say the Golf 6 has received a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and even includes whiplash-optimised head restraints. The steering wheel fits snugly into your hands as you quickly find your ideal driving position. Paddle shifters are at your finger tips for rapid-fire gear changes. The sports seats hug you in anticipation of the drive ahead. Turn the key and the engine bursts into life and settles down to a quiet idle. Slot the DSG box into gear and as you pull off, the twin exhausts leave a burble in your wake. The ride is what you'd expect from a GTI, firm, but not jarring and comfortable on all but the bumpiest roads.

Initially it feels as if the suspension might be too compliant but this theory is quickly dismissed as you up the pace through the turns. New to the sixth generation GTI is the addition of what VW call the XDS differential. Essentially this is an extension of the electronic limited-slip differential and helps to eliminate understeer by anticipating conditions where one front wheel is likely to break free and then preventatively applies braking force. As a result, the GTI has fantastic road manners and really does handle well, even when pushed to the limits, the ESP brings everything under control in a smooth and efficient manner. Feedback from the steering is positive and provides a good feel for the road, although turn-in is sharper than expected and took us a bit of time to get used to. We couldn't help feel that the efficiency of the DSG took some of the fun out of the drive. It can't provide the connection to the engine and wheels like a manual gearbox can and in a hot-hatch that is part of the fun. Being responsible for the co-ordination of steering, brakes, throttle and gears is what a driver's car is all about.

It's a rewarding feeling when you get it right and the reason why driving is so exciting for most. Among the current hot-hatch line-up (think R26, OPC, and ST) the new GTI is still the least powerful and the figures don't stir up excitement. Power continues to come from VW's 2,0-litre 16-valve turbocharged 'EA-888′ motor. Now in it's second stage of development, VW engineers have not simply added new or upgraded ECU software. The engine has received new components such as modified pistons and piston rings, a regulated oil pump, a new vacuum pump, a new high-pressure fuel pump and a new mass airflow sensor. The result is 155 kW at 5 300 rpm and 280 N.m of torque from 1 700 rpm to 5 200 rpm. Driving the new Golf GTI the additional 7 kW over the previous model are noticeable. This GTI feels quick. Coupled with the DSG box, VW claim zero to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 238 km/h, ensuring the GTI can run with the pack. A flat torque curve gives the GTI great all round drive ability. Whether dawdling around town, overtaking on the open road, or racing between corners, the lump of torque is always at your disposal and ensures swift progress. New face of the VW range and rear diffuser add a stylish edge to the GTI. Well balanced chassis and handling provides quick and exciting driving. Enough power, comfort and space to carry four people, or leave them at home and burn rubber. A new set of 18-inch wheels to match the rest of the styling changes. We'd spec a few optional extras for luxury and convenience, but overall the GTI remains the best all-round hot-hatch - for now.

Saying that, the mk4 TDI is good alternative too. The PD 150bhp is a sweet engine and a remapp will give a good 40-50 bhp taking you close or just over the 200bhp mark. Either way, would def say buy a VW, as they do hold value, cheap to run, wont give you the headache of a crappy french car and will prove more reliable then your index finger given a few years. Find a TDI turbo diesel, Great Cars! Congrats on your decision to buy a Volkswagen. You've taken your first step into an amazing and beautiful new world. Both cars are excellent and fun to drive. However there are a few differences between the two. Obviously the Jetta is a sedan with four-doors while the GTI is a hatchback with two-doors. While both have the same 1.8 turbo charged engine, there is a major hp difference between the two years.

In 2002, Volkswagen reprogrammed the computer chips in the 1.8t's to give them 30 more hp. So the heavier Jetta only has 150hp to the lighter GTI's 180hp. That being said, I'm sure the GTI has been driven a lot harder than the Jetta, therefore increasing the probability of having more mechanical issues. Make sure you have a mechanic you trust take a look at both of them to help guide your decision. As far as maintenance goes, having owned and driven several Volkswagens myself, I've never had one break down on me. The horror stories you hear about people's Volkswagens breaking down in greatly exaggerated. Personally I would go for the GTI. I own one myself and have a blast driving it. While the Jetta is a great car also, I don't have the need for a 4 door sedan. Plus in your case, that 30 extra hp makes a big difference. Hope that helps you out some and enjoy!

2000 jettas actually. i am 18 about to be 19. my first one was a 2000 jetta 2.0 4cyl automatic when i was 16, it was a slow car, but was a gas saver got really good gas mileage. 2000 vw jetta vr6, the 6 cylinder, 5 speed. 20-22 city. and around 28-30 highway. 10 years old will have its problems. I will say its a fun car to drive, gets good mileage, and after i have done a few things to it, its a head turner for sure. 5 dollar bulb, open the hood, pop off the bulb lid, unplug the bulb and replace. 6 cylinder jetta, which is a big motor crammed into a little car. VW beetle with 150000 miles on the clock? Car has full service history & is a two litre. If the price is good, service records are reasonably up to date and the car looks good enough to please you.

If you are not comfortable selling your house in this economy, and just want to wait for a better time to sell you can just rent it instead. Westsiderentals has also helped over 1 million people search for housing. It's amazing value at just £25. Couldn't believe it when I found them. A very useful list. We used Jane Earl (mentioned above) to sell our home in Huddersfield last year in a difficult market. Ok, it took five months to sell but we got there and saved a load (thousands). They were very professional - but they are a little more expensive now (we paid £195). I would recommend selling this way to anyone - paying high street agents big commissions is silly and unnecessary.

Volkswagen Replaces Its Battery Cell Supplier

Starting this month - with the new 35,8 kWh battery for the 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf - Volkswagen will begin to use Samsung SDI as its supplier for battery cells. This means that Panasonic/Sanyo loses a big customer for their battery cells, but it doesn’t seem that important since Tesla and now Toyota - with the Prius Prime - will keep the demand high. As a side note, I’ve to say that in my previous articles I wrongly assumed that Volkswagen would keep Panasonic/Sanyo as its battery cell supplier and I’ve to thank Grendizer for the heads up. In the photo below we can see the Samsung SDI 37 Ah battery cell that will be used to build Volkswagen Group (Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche) battery packs. To better understand why Volkswagen changed its battery cell supplier, let’s see the Volkswagen roadmap for battery upgrades in the below. Samsung SDI realized they could do better and developed the 37 Ah battery cell that can directly replace the old 25 Ah made by Panasonic/Sanyo.

This demonstrates the dedication of Samsung SDI to get more automakers as its customers. These 37 Ah battery cells and the ones they are replacing share one common characteristic. They have the high energy density required for BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles) and the high power density that’s required for PHEVs (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles). The Samsung SDI 37 Ah battery cells will also be used in BMW plug-in hybrid cars - which will get battery capacity upgrades this year. To sum up, it’s great to see Samsung SDI with two major automakers as clients (BMW and Volkswagen), with Mercedes joining the list later with the EQ sub-brand. The bad news for Samsung SDI is that the German automakers are still dragging their feets to build electric cars. This is why the Samsung SDI battery cell plant in Europe (Hungary) will only start operating in 2018 with an annual capacity to supply 50.000 EV batteries. This highly contrasts with the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance’s battery supplier (LG Chem) plans for Europe. LG Chem battery plant in Poland will start operating already this year with an annual production capacity of 100.000 EV batteries. In this aspect, LG Chem is in much better position as the Alliance’s battery cell supplier and Panasonic also is very comfortable with Tesla and Toyota in its customers list.

I began looking at electric cars last summer, but realized soon in the buying experience was more complicated than normal. While I was able to eliminate the Ford Focus, Kia Soul, and Nissan Leaf on test drives, trying to statistically rank the remaining contenders proved difficult. Range and charge time should be the driving factors with an EV purchase or lease, but these vary based on driving profile and charger availability. The EPA’s “MPGe” statistic is worthless, because it’s based on the cost of gas (which fluctuates) vs. Throw in sales people who are for the most part clueless on EV specifics and confusing pricing on government rebates, and it’s a quick way to leave your head spinning. In short, it’s very easy to make a mistake and has caused me to delay my decision as much as possible. A few weeks ago I Googled “Rent a Volt” and came across Turo, which can be best thought of AirBnB for cars. 60 per day. With just a credit card and driver’s license I was able to start setting up rental appointments.

I typically requested them 48 hours in advance and had no problem getting a prompt reply back from the “host” to confirm the rental and make pickup arrangements. 10). 2015 was the first year for the e-Golf and it came in two trim models: Limited and SEL. For 2016, VW replaced with Limited with the SE and dropped the price, but also dropped the charger’s power (more on that later). The Volkswagen Golf is an attractive and fun city car that does well on the highway, and the e-Golf was no different. It felt extremely natural to me, like a mini version of my 2004 Subaru Forester. Visibility both out the front and sides was good, and it felt nimble coming around corners. The best part was an instant yet nicely gradual acceleration coming off traffic lights. It had enough “pop” to be fun, but not too much to feel like an amusement park ride.
