- Large stroke:

- Engine speed 1500 ... 5000 1/min

- Mass air flow

- > 800 .... > 325 mg/stroke (depending on : Engine speed)

Possible fault causes

- Oil supply too low

--> (e.g. Soiling (Oil circuit), Scavenging restrictor Faulty (Cylinder head),....)

- Large differences in exhaust backpressure between banks (e.g. due to constricted or blocked passage of an exhaust branch).

- Timing incorrect, a bank (Intake camshaft or Exhaust camshaft)

- Solenoid valve, hydraulic camshaft adjustment Faulty

-->(Mechanical fault or Electrical fault in circuit)

Fault setting condition(s)

- Diagnosis detects via the lambda controllers that all the valves on the bank have either not switched to the other lift or have not switched

quickly enough during valve lift switchover.

P1375

P1375

Diagnosis information - Control unit DME (DFI)

Valve lift control Cylinder 7 - Large stroke

Diagnostic conditions

- Driving with Partial load

- > 5 Minute(s)

- Engine speed 1250...3000 1/min

- Mass air flow 180...500 mg/stroke

- then Idle speed

- > 2 Minute(s)

- Engine speed 500...1000 1/min

- Mass air flow 90...250 mg/stroke

Possible fault causes

- Injection valve Faulty or Borderline

(opens too late / not long enough / not enough or leaks)

- Bar ignition module Faulty

- Compression too low

(e.g. Cylinder lining damaged, Valve-seat ring Faulty ...)

- Valve lifter Faulty

(Intake valve has not switched to the other lift or has not switched quickly enough)

Fault setting condition(s)

- Diagnosis detects uneven running for the specified cylinder.

- Uneven running is calculated from the expected and actual crankshaft acceleration due to combustion.

- Uneven running is interpreted as a misfire or valve lift fault, depending on type.
